Morning.
It's daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark, but a bit paler over in the east and it looks mostly clear. I will be going back to bed for more sleep once DS is off to school. Poor DS (se has been having lie-ins all through isolation and wasn't impressed about the early start today.)
Apparently my niece now has covid Sad Haven't seen her for ages, so at least that's not our fault.

I'm sure we'll get a tree eventually. We could have got a standard spruce, but I'm sure you'll remember the one we got that became a Christmas Skeletree with all the needles on the floor.. so we'd rather avoid that and get a Nordman if we can. Or maybe we should make that a thing - just skip the greenery and decorate a bare tree each year from now on.

Make sure you’re getting enough rest Helen. Is a bit tiring being this stern all the time. Minimalist tree is a good idea and you won’t have to hoover up needles,

Daaarrrk. New windows today and DH is off. He is faffing about and being very busy whilst I’m trying to get ready for work and eat my breakfast.

Afternoon - dentist this morning for a filling. It was simpler than expected so that was good. Have since been for a walk with FancyMan.

My tree is a standard spruce as I like the smell. Hoping that the needles stay on - the trees from the farm are usually good as they are freshly cut.

Afternoon. I went into town this morning for a final shop of bits and pieces and suddenly realised it's THE END OF NEXT WEEK. Shock I thought I was doing so well, but now I'm not so sure.

Yes to cheese crisps. When we were teenagers and before we had a car DH and I used to walk to the local off-licence and get cheese crisps and a bottle of Vimto each and walk back consuming them. Wonderful!

DH has been out to buy a tree - we have one in a pot this year. Which we will forget to water keep alive and re-use for years. Hmm It is sitting out on the pation and KillerKitten has been very taken with it. Doooooom.

I went out and did some shopping today Shock massive novelty for me. I now have a few random xmas pressies Grin and lots of chocolate - some of which will be given away and most will be my present to myself Grin

Urgh. DH couldn't sleep, so of course I was periodically woken up by the huffing and puffing. To be fair, he tried to be quiet and sneak out at 3am or something horrible, but I still woke up.

Still feeling tired and also a bit snotty, I think an even earlier night is called for today - although I am going out for dinner with a friend tonight, so it won't be that early.

Put the tree up last night, but haven't decorated it yet, maybe tonight if I have time.

Afternoon. Went to Sainsbury's this morning and posted the cards, then this afternoon sorted my car insurance. Bloody nightmare but I got there in the end so that's something else off my mind.

I don't blame you for keeping the chocolate Helen, you deserve it.

Work was mad. Got cards written at lunchtime and then posted this afternoon. Just need to distribute the others and then those are done. Got a few more gifts bought too. I am whittling away at the list

Car insurance definitely falls under boring but necessary but the satisfaction of getting it done must be good Apricot.

Have a lovely evening Fancy but don’t overdo it. We don’t want you having a setback just before Christmas.

Morning all. Frosty outside. Sunrise was purple and prange, which has faded to gold the silver, and a mist has come up. all very scenic, and nippy.

Sympathies LetUs - DS snapped at me this morning because "I know! I'm late!" (I'd had the temerity to go upstairs to find him, not that I'd said anything. How dare I exist?)

Hope that Fancy has had a nice meal out with friend yesterday. I think I'm going to cancel work xmas lunch tomorrow, to make sure that I don't take accidentally anything unpleasant to the in-laws at xmas Sad I will console myself by opening some M&S jaffa cakes.

Friend & I postponed our dinner as no one needs my germs! Have repeatedly tested negative and that plus my symptoms make me pretty sure it's just a head cold.

I think you've earned a treat apricot, sorting out the insurance is very tedious.

Afternoon. Daaarrrrk, but on the positive side the afternoons have turned the corner, and sunset is one minute later today than yesterday. Not going to mention the mornings though.

We went to the local garden centre with DD this morning, they have an amazing display of Christmas stuff. There was a huge stand with Christmas jigsaws which made me think of you LetUs. We had a meal there so I won't have to cook.
