Seems not dull and dark this morning. Have got a three hour meeting about IT systems this morning which will be full of the usual folk who love the sound of their own voices. It’s remote too so there won’t even be biscuits provided.

A very pleasant looking day, and not too cold - hurrah! Still mostly work & not much else, but I am at least off for just over a week as from Thursday evening. Also no fireworks last night so the cats were happy.

How was the meeting letus? Woken up yet?

Afternoon. Took the car in for MOT this morning which is always a bit of a worry as it's so old, but it passed. Phew!

No fireworks last night here either, we seem to have got off lightly this year.

I've been doing house stuff today, mostly. This morning was written off by a short-lived migraine, and then this afternoon I did some shopping and cleaned out the chickens. No HBFs by the chicken coop, but at one point I walked round the corner and came face to face with a deer. We were both rather startled

I've just been stewing up more fruit. Thrills.

Hoe that LetUs wasn't bored mindless by IT people wittering on.

Meeting was on the snoozy side and will unfortunately result in some of the bosses who were in it getting hold of the wrong end of the stick and asking for the system to do things that it can’t actually do.

Plan is shopping for stuff for DS2’s birthday, appointment at school, trip to nearby village to collect prescription and browse bookshop, and treat myself to lunch in a little cafe. There will also be washing and housework.

Today seems to be a day of meetings, don't feel like I've achieved much so far........

I am having a weekend away visiting friends and then a week mooching at home - no plans, although my spare room needs a clear out, so may make a start on that - the thrills!

Afternoon/Evening. Boring day here, Sainsbury shop this morning and other bits and pieces.

Have had a lovely day. Got shopping more or less sorted, school meeting was very good, resisted buying a jigsaw —but bought some books—, had a rather delicious Caesar salad in a cafe for lunch. Bit of housework.

Quite foggy today. Am out tonight though so as long as it’s not windy and raining, that’s okay.

Morning all. It's grey and cloudy outside, with a sliver of golden light down by the horizon. (Which, as I type, has faded to insipid yellow. There went the sun then.)

I swear, we don't have a kitten - we have a four-legged furry black hole. FBH. (All the right letters, but in the wrong order and meaning) He wasn't in when I came down, so IntelligentCat got fed in peace and quiet. When I next looked up for FBH he was indoors and polishing off a mouse. Then he demanded some food in his bowl. Then he went outside again to scare the wildlife - pronking all over the garden after a mouse he'd let go. Then he came back in and demanded more food again. If he keeps eating at this rate he will be the size of Kitten Kong! But he's very happy and having his usual morning cuddle., so...

Today I need to do a bit of work, meet a friend-and-delightful-toddler and do something about the shower drain which is glugging and slow to drain. (Rubber gauntlets at the ready - niagw. Rubber gauntlets are never iagw in the land of No Mains Drainage.)

Afternoon. Foggy here too this morning. It doesn't seem to have got completely light all day.

Fish and chips in a pub sounds wonderful. Strangely, we should have been out for lunch with a golfing friend and his wife today, but I had to cancel as I've got toothache and it started to bleed badly the other night. Dentist in the morning, I assume it will have to come out as it's loose. FMT.

Evening out with LittleSis was amazing! It was a Harry Potter thing (yes we’re both grown ups, no we don’t care ). So now I’m home with a brew, tired but happy.

Was thinking of having a bath tonight but I had to nip out to the supermarket, then put the washing out and DH has just reminded me about playing cards with DS2. So it’ll be a bit late really.

Evening all. Work has been work-ish and involved much glaring at spreadsheets and a side-order of formatting documents.

The drain was outside Wicked - hence the gauntlets. Vintage drainage here - there's an external trap for the grey water which had got blocked.

Glad the tooth has gone Apricot - hope it's not sore any more.

I was going to go coat shopping tomorrow, but DS has decreed that he doesn't want to go out, which means I have to stay home and be responsible parent. On the plus side, that means I get a lie-in. But still...

Am also currently planning a road trip with Dad to visit far-flung family. In practise, this involves making suggestions and waiting to be told when/what he wants to do. And booking some time off work.
