Afternoon, there was a bit of rain - when we were out having dinner no thunder though.

But most importantly - SQUEEEEEEEEE at new kitten

Afternoon. We had a bit of rain last night, but not enough to do much good. It's been cloudy all day.

No rain today. Saw family today and had fun afternoon introducing MiniFamily to lots of livestock (of various sizes and fluffiness). This went so well that there was a mega toddler-tantrum at home time. Oops. I also got a bit sunburnt. Oops, again.

Quiet day. Took DS2 shopping for a new school bag. Also bought birthday cards for this month and some of next’s. Went very warm whilst we were out so when we got back put my shorts on, bit of sun cream, and got the lounger out. About 15 minutes later the weather decided that was quite enough of that and the temperature dropped.

We’ve a Vera on and I’m fighting to the urge to make myself a plate of cheese and biscuits.

Weather was lovely today - but only when the sun was out. We had cloud this morning which made it a lot cooler - until it burnt off. Then it was shorts weather.

Stupid Cat is currently sitting next to me, growling at Cute Kitten.

Morning wenches. I resisted the cheese and biscuits Helen I had crisps instead I really need to knock this snacking on the head.

Seems sunny for now. Have to check whether a prescription for DS2 is ready and collect if so, together with a book I’ve ordered for him. Then there’s washing, a bit of housework, revision, and then absolutely bugger all.

I have a nasty feeling that 'toleration under duress' may be Stupid Cat's default for a fair while. Along with hiding upstairs. Oh well, it was always a (highly likely) risk that getting a second cat wouldn't inspire feelings of warm snuggliness from her.

Another sunny day here. Next door seem to have some very early morning, noisy gardeners in .

I went to the dentist this morning for a check up and to see the hygienist. All was well.

Ooooohhh, CuteKitten is gorgeous. Look at the little feet! Hope StupidCat soon gets used to the new situation. I would have thought it would have brought out her maternal instinct, but obviously not.

Have spent most of this afternoon outside. Went quite cloudy a few times so that gave me an incentive to come in and do a bit of housework but other than that, lounger and a book.

StupidCat and CuteKitten reminds me of when LittleSis was born and they brought her home. I wasn’t overly keen but I like her now

Evening. Rain here too - my fault because I hung out the washing. So no option for sun loungers here I also got a bit of work done, but spent a lot of time sorting out CuteKitten - food, playing, etc. Progress - StupidCat hasn't growled at Cute Kitten yet this evening. (Clings to straws.) Also, CuteKitten has ginormous paws (for such a small kitten). Maybe CuteKitten is going to grow up to be enormous...

Well done on seeing a dentist Apricot (I ought to but I haven't got round to phoning them) and hurrah for all being well.

It's morning. It's a bit grey and miserable - I forgot to check how much rain we had yesterday, about 7mm I should think. Maybe more.

Livestock is fed and I think i'm going back to bed imminently.

How's/where's wicked? What news on the house, and the new cottage?

Afternoon. Beautiful day. We planted a load of begonias in the front borders this morning, hope they'll be alright in the sun.

We're going out this evening for a meal with some friends we haven't seen for 18 months. There's a lot of catching up to be done.

Evening wenches. Has been a beautiful sunny day, most of which I’ve spent on a lounger with a book. Have done three lots of washing and some housework too and visited parents. It’s really clouded over now and actually looks like it might rain —which would be such a shame for the barbecue that’s making copious amounts of smoke—

Evening. It has been a lovely day, once the sun burned through the clouds. I spent the evening sitting in the sun at SportingActivity and thinking that the ground was, unfortunately, still a bit wet. (DH checked the gauge and we had 14mm yesterday.)

Also had a fairly productive day - earthed up potatoes and moved the chicks so they have their own little run to stay in and I don't have to let them in and out all the time. And I cut some grass.

Hope that apricot has had a lovely evening out and that LetUs's annoying BBQ stopped smoking her out, and Fancy and Wicked have had a good day.

I’ve had a lie in and actually slept. Mega weird vivid dreams didn’t really help but never mind.

Watched a documentary about Manchester United last night which was heavy on the Cantona which was definitely not a bad thing

Right I need to get up, get a wash on, shower and then have a walk to deliver some birthday cards. Then there’ll be ironing at some point.

Afternoon. It rained all morning which was good for the garden, but the sun has come out now.

The meal was lovely, it was good to catch up.

Well done to the robins and hope the chicks are enjoying their little run. It really is a hive of activity at ChezHelen. Talking of hives, have you got any bees this year?

Card deliveries done, ironing done, LovelyMIL has been round for dinner - it was so nice to have her round for something to eat again.

I think Apricot and I are synced with our dentist visits. I’ve got an appointment tomorrow.

Not sure what the rest of the evening holds, probably watching tv and trying to resist snacking. I’ve had to loosen my belt a notch. Might go outside and sit on the bench with my book for a bit.

There is a lot of birdsong here this evening. I've done a bit of pottering in the garden and fed the bin. I need to do more than pottering to be honest, the weeds are thriving!

DS went back yesterday after a bit of drama with the trains. As well as sodding roadworks everywhere at the moment, there were also various line & station closures.

No improvement with StupidCat yet - she's still growly-hissy at CuteKitten, but then again she's hiding away upstairs all day, so not much opportunity to bond. We'll get there...

No bees this year apricot - hives are there for passing swarms, but no takers this year.
