Morning wenches.

Sounds a PITA for FancyDS and you Fancy. Hope he got back safely and not too knackered!

Bonjour Monsieur Cantona! Didn’t realise until the end of the documentary that he co-wrote it so seems unsurprising he was in it a lotGrin

Urgh at Monday. I’m not keen TBH and I’ve got the dentist after work. Must remember to take my toothbrush and toothpaste with me.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/06/2021 08:18

Oh - cross post with Fancy. What a pain re. trains. As long as you didn't have to taxi him all the way home! There seem to be roadworks all round LocalCity at the moment - 4 mile tailbacks were reported in one place [horror]

I have, having packed DS off to school, been kitten proofing part of the house so the grown-ups can actually work in piece without repeated interruptions to rescue CuteKitten from stuff (and vice versa). CuteKitten is a chewy little monster who has to be detached from ankles, and loves ping-pong balls and climbing the scratching post, and 'killing' everything. CuteKitten has also learned to lap up his milk over the weekend - hurrah! No more syringe feeding for us (which got very messy at times) Now we just need to get the used to the taste of kitten food and we can start to introduce solids. He has also just taken himself into his cage to use the litter tray. Another Good Thing. Grin

Wildlife report - very shouty magpies. They were scolding something yesterday evening as well. And carried on this morning, though they seem to have shut up now.

Hope everyone has a good day - fingers crossed for the dentist LetUs

Oh, FFS. spring-heel kitten has just scaled his walls...

ApricotCrush · 07/06/2021 16:45

Afternoon. Cloudy here but still warm. I've done a load of washing which is now waiting to be ironed.

Trains sounded very stressful Fancy.

Gosh, having a kitten is almost as time-consuming as a baby! Well not quite, but well done to him for using the litter tray and lapping up his milk, but eeek at wall-scaling. Shock

Hopefully some passing bees will decide to stay.

Good luck with the dentist LetUs.

Hope WW is alright.

LetUsPrey · 07/06/2021 19:42

Evening wenches.

Oh clever CuteKitten with the milk and the tray! Not so much with the wall scaling. He’s not been bitten by a radioactive spider has he?

Dentist - well, the hygienist - went well. Scale and polish is not my favourite thing though but at least I’ve impressed her so much I’m down to six monthly appointments rather than three months.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/06/2021 21:28

Evening.

I'm sure that we can find HBFs who are proficient at ironing - they can work through the pile while they're not otherwise occupied

Yay for reduced dental visits LetUs (I must try to get an appointment at mine).

CuteKitten is asleep on a chair (he was asleep on DS, but DS has been sent up to bed). Stupid cat is curled up on me for the first time since CuteKitten arrived. Hopefully this is progress. Or it may just be because CuteKitten is asleep and not posing any amount of threat or stress. Hmm Oh well - peace and quiet reign for now.

Morning wenches.

Loving the StupidCat CuteKitten updates Grin

Looks like another rather warm day ahead. I’ve been awake for ages. I suppose I could have got up and done useful stuff but I didn’t. I know, I’ll do a sudoku - that’s useful for my brain.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2021 07:49

Morning. Lovely and sunny outside, with shouty magpies.

Slight set-back with CuteKitten and StupidCat last night - Stupid was asleep on the sofa while Cute was playing on the floor. Stupid then launched himself onto the sofa to see me, startling Stupid and there was several seconds of hissing and batting with claws, on both sides, until I stuck and arm between them and they both reverted to looking outraged/scared. Le sigh. I can't decide whether it's worth putting up kitten barriers this morning since he gets out of them with very little effort.

I've got stuck on my sudoko and haven't done anything with it for ages... (Kittens are more entertaining - and also time-consuming and slightly exhausting. (Still not interested in kitten food.))

Yay for shiny clean teeth Grin
Am at work - feeling particularly brain dead today, would much prefer to be pottering in the garden in the sunshine, not least as I will have to work full time over the next couple of weeks Shock

ApricotCrush · 08/06/2021 18:08

Evening. Beautiful day, I've been on the lounger with sudoku and Magnum this afternoon, after food stocking up this morning.

Helen you ought to write a children's book, The Adventures of StupidCat and CuteKitten. Smile

DH has eaten out so only me to cater for. Yay!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 08/06/2021 18:40

Evening. I’m still alive! Nobody wants to buy my apartment, the market seams to be slow at the moment. Thankfully my future landlord is ok with me moving in later so I don’t have to pay double rents for several months, I was extremely stressed out about that. Hopefully my apartment will be easier to sell in the fall. So no house in the countryside this summer for me.

LetUsPrey · 08/06/2021 20:17

Evening wenches.

Bloody hell it was bonkers as work today! It’s okay though because I started to tell DH it’d been really busy (you know, the usual sort of quite boring chat you have), and he interrupted me —again— to say that someone had called in sick and they’d been really really busy and there’d been so much stuff to deal with. Don’t know what I was thinking really that obviously there’s no way I could have been busier than him!

Don’t worry Wicked, it’ll sell. I have declared it thus. Good that the new landlord has given you the time.

That sounds blissful Apricot, including the only having to sort out food for yourself!

Love the idea of The Adventures of StupidCat and CuteKitten!

Yes Fancy, focus on the overtime that can buy you lots more pink fizz and cheese and biscuit spread. You may need to focus really hard though.

I’ve got the tennis on. Tsitsipas is playing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2021 20:36

Evening all. It's been a very hot sunny day. I have been working and kitten-wrangling. We also built a new cat tower.

In other exciting news, we've finally had a blown pane of double-glazing replaced - it blew, miraculously, about two months before the guarantee ran out - instead of 2 months after. I have been chasing for over a year to get it replaced, and then they just randomly turned up today and seemed surprised that we weren't expecting them. Hmm

Urgh at full time working Fancy - even if the overtime is nice - we'd all rather be in the garden, no?

That's sucks about not selling the apartment yet Wicked, at least you can move into the cottage at a later date. How does selling work in Sweden? Are you taking it off the market until Autumn? Don't you just leave it up for sale until it sells?

Apricot - it would have to be a very repetitive children's picture book:
"StupidCat is grumpy, she doesn't like CuteKitten"
"CuteKitten is happy, he has a pingpong ball to kill"
"StupidCat is cross, she doesn't like CuteKitten"
"CuteKitten is happy, he has a bowl of milk to drink"
"StupidCat is hiding upstairs, she doesn't like CuteKitten"
"CuteKitten is happy, he has a hand-towel to kill"
"StupidCat is growling and hissing, she doesn't like CuteKitten"
"CuteKitten is scared, he has got too close to StupidCat"
"StupidCat is outraged because CuteKitten exists"
etc, etc...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/06/2021 20:48

Oh - hello LetUs! FFS at DH's competitive empathising. We have that here as well. Plus, that thing when you're busy doing something, you get given unsolicited advice about how to do it better, followed by surprise when it does wrong, combined with the suggestion that really you should have done it the way that you were doing it before someone said you were doing it wrong. Angry

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 08/06/2021 22:48

That’s several books there at least Helen Grin

and hurrah at the same time at randomly appearing window people.

I know exactly what you mean about the “helpful advice”.

We’ve watched an NCIS and now I’m heading for the hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/06/2021 07:40

Morning all. Warm and sunny this morning.
CuteKitten is climbing/killing the old scratching post - completely ignoring the new one that we got; StupidCat is sulking upstairs on our bed. (StupidCat is not really stupid!) And rolling about in the sunshine being generally cute/lethal.
Outside the birds are all chirping and squawking, and I have put the bins out.

Hope that everyone has a good day...

LetUsPrey · 09/06/2021 17:37

Afternoon wenches.

Hurrah Wicked! That’s very good news!

Spoke with doctor. He hasn’t been sent the questionnaires that I (and the school) sent back last October. He sounded mortified. Couldn’t do much without seeing these questionnaires so he just went through a couple of other things and said he’ll phone again when he’s tracked down the forms. I offered to email them because I’ve kept copies. I’m not even surprised that there’s been yet another fuck up. I’ll be emailing PALS tomorrow to add this on to my complaint.

So tonight I plan bath’n’book and a glass of pink and lemonade.

ApricotCrush · 09/06/2021 17:58

Evening. It promised to be sunny this afternoon, but sadly it didn't arrive, but I've done some computer tidying instead of going in the garden so all is not lost.

Yes, what is it with men? They're always suffering more than you. Confused

I love the SupidCat and CuteKitten book. It will make you a fortune. Hmm

Yay for jab WW. Shame about the apartment, but you'll get there.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/06/2021 17:58

Oh FFS LetUs - that's so utterly shit. On that basis there's no need to opt out of that NHS data sell-off because the records will have been assigned to the wrong person anyway, so will be anonymous through error!

Good news re. your jab wicked hope you don't do the hot-and-sweaty thing tonight!

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 09/06/2021 22:35

I didn’t end up with bath’n’book because Death on the Nile was on and then Sewing Bee semi-final so I relaxed —eventually— with a drink and the tv.

Hayloft beckons.

LetUsPrey · 10/06/2021 07:33

Morning wenches.

Warm but cloudy today. Weekend looks like it’s going to be beautiful, although I’ve just remembered I’ve said I’ll go shopping with sister and mum.

HBFs said they’re on hand for suncream application duties - and pleasures.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/06/2021 07:50

Morning all. There's a solar eclipse today! So it's cloudy, of course Hmm Oh well.

Wildlife report - the usual suspects, plus people nearby have peacocks shouting their heads off.

Cute kitten is doing the usual morning thing of being cute ang furry and trying to nurse on my dressing gown while I'm sitting on the sofa. (Which was preceded by trying to kill my feet.) Yesterday he was being carried around inside my dressing gown and ended up crawling down the sleeves - I was still wearing it, so it was a bit cramped Grin

HBFs are always on hand LetUs - duty, pleasure, etc.
