So my car is completely dead. What’s next? A piano falling from the sky on my head? Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/05/2021 11:59

Oh Wicked Sad

Maybe we could clone you LetUs - you can hang out with the HBFs which your clone sits and listens to DH? I've just had mine telling me how he can't clear some shelves because it's a 'job for two' Hmm You lift the bloody contents off the shelf and put them carefully in boxes. HowTF is that 'a job for two' ?!
Well, the shelves will have to wait until it's convenient for me to deal with them. Which isn't today.

Afternoon. Lovely day, I've been outside all day. So have a load of the neighbours, having concrete delivered, cutting lawns, setting off car alarms, the usual stuff.

Shame you didn't go out Fancy, but sounds like you had a good evening anyway.

I can't help but laugh at MrLetUs, with his running commentary. Grin

Oh no WW, what's wrong with it? Can't it be repaired?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/05/2021 19:42

Probably the battery, I really don’t have the energy to deal with that right now.

FancyFancy · 30/05/2021 20:53

Badoom tish apricot Grin

What a bugger ww hope it's something easy to sort out.

Have not really done much today, few chores and a bit of gardening - repurposed another weed and actually had to water the plants for what feels like the first time in ages. Some of them are growing alarmingly fast. And the bin is now actually at 40 degrees - yay!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/05/2021 21:18

Evening all.

I have done the washing and gardened and met family and DH managed to clear the shelves all by himself. Hurrah! All in all, it was a satisfyingly productive day

FFS at noisy neighbours though, and at Running Commentary.

Fingers crossed that it's just the battery Wicked - that shouldn't be a big job to fix.

LetUsPrey · 31/05/2021 09:02

Morning wenches.

I actually snorted out loud at running commentary and DH asked what was so funny. I didn’t tell him but I shall think of it every time he tells me about his latest run Grin

🤞🏻it’s something easily and cheaply fixable Wicked. Life gets like that sometimes and you go “okay universe, what else FFS?”

Excellent bin news Fancy!

Oh well done MrHelen for doing the shelves all by yourself. Well done Helen on being mega productive again

We’re off to see DS1 today and have booked in for lunch somewhere. I’ll be meeting his girlfriend for the first time.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/05/2021 11:58

Morning (just!) It's warm and sunny again now - was cloudy earlier on. Gardening stuff (again) going on today....

Have a lovely lunch with DS1 LetUs

Hope everyone had a good morning / has a good day...

ApricotCrush · 31/05/2021 16:29

Afternoon. Another lovely day.

DS & Co. have gone to the caravan, trust them to get the weather when we get howling winds and lashing rain. Hmm

My battery isn't very happy WW, I dread starting the car if DH isn't here.

Hope LetUs had a nice lunch with DS1.

Yay for Fancy's bin and MrHelen doing the shelves.

DD & Co. are coming for a barbie later.

LetUsPrey · 31/05/2021 19:01

Evening wenches.

What a sunny day! Was great to see DS1 again, and meet his girlfriend who was lovely. Food could have been better TBH but that’s not what it was really about. Traffic was a nightmare because who’d have thought that the roads would be mad busy on a bank holiday Monday. With beautiful weather. With part of the journey being on the same motorway that goes to three very popular seaside towns. Not DH obviously, even though I’d pointed this out yesterday and this morning. Nope, he said, it’ll be fine. Fortunately we were ready early so when I checked the roads and found they were busy, we could set off earlier than usual. Journey took twice as long, we were 30 minutes late for our meal, but DH was still insisting that the roads shouldn’t have been busy.

Athos will be on hand to massage anything you need Helen after all your gardening.

Have a super barbecue Apricot

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2021 07:55

Morning wenches.

Another sunny day. Have got DS2 organised with doing some revision whilst I’m at work. It’s only for a couple of hours on and off so not too torturous for him.

🤞🏻for getting the car sorted Wicked.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2021 08:25

Oh FFS, I never posted last night:

Evening all. Much gardening was done, and now I'm doing the bath'n'book thing. I also have a slight headache, so Dr Athos will be needed for a thorough examination.

Glad that you had a good day LetUs (apart from the traffic). Hope that Apricot's BBQ went (is going?) well. And Fancy has had a good weekend, and Wicked's had a good weekend.
--
Had a shocking night's sleep - all hot and sweaty (thanks, menopausal shit) and then there was a tapping on the roof or in the loft at about 4am (thanks, stupid birds) and just urgh.. Have to take DS out to half-term sports thing, then back to work. Still at least the weather's glorious

Grin
OP posts:
FancyFancy · 01/06/2021 13:04

Afternoon
Glorious & sunny here
Mostly pottered around yesterday - gave lifts, had lunch with DS & FancyMan & attempted a very rough & ready sorting of the-fence-at-the-bottom-of-the-garden-issue. I don't really need a fence there so don't really want to spend much money but it does help block out the view of the trains. Also suspect that deer may be getting in through the gaps and that if I don't leave them some gaps they may just force their way through!

Yay for the girlfriend being nice letus - is it too soon to know if she is wench?

How was the BBQ apricot?

ApricotCrush · 01/06/2021 16:34

Afternoon. A bit cloudier today but still warm.

The BBQ was lovely, we had a good giggle over old times, DH chased DGS around the garden and fell over the balustrade which was caught on camera by DD. He ought to have more sense at his age. Grin

As DS is away DH has been entrusted with watering his garden. Twice a day, at 10am and 6pm. Hmm Unfortunately he is playing golf tomorrow so the task falls to me. I went this morning to be 'trained', and this evening I will do it myself under DH's supervision. This sounds a bit much, but ffs there are dozens of plants front and back, a greenhouse full of trays and pots and tomatoes, and a small allotment at the bottom of the garden. On top of it all, DS is alerted to our arrival by the Ring doorbell and phones to check we're doing it right. Thank goodness he isn't away for a fortnight.

Glad the girlfriend was nice LetUs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2021 16:51

at miniApricot. I think he'll find that he doesn't get to dictate any terms other than wanting the plants to still be alive on his return. That's the extent of the watering being 'right'.

LOL at MrA falling over though (as long as no harm was done)

I'd go for fencing the little sods deer out completely if you can Fancy. Admittedly this is near impossible if they're determined, but on the other hand, you don't want them to eat all of your garden so at least they're deterred by fences.

Hope that wicked has made progress with the car, and LetUs has had a nice day at work with no shitty colleagues.

Evening wenches.

re interrupted and sweaty night Helen. Hope you have a better night tonight. I’ve put a bowl of strawberries out to go with the cream for the HBFs. Important to keep up their fruit uptake.

I think girlfriend has wench potential Fancy. She’s a fan of The Batch so that’s a big positive as far as I’m concerned Grin

I’d need a practice at watering the garden —and written instructions— too Apricot. Hope the effects of MrApricot’s tumble are comedy related only Grin

Work was urgh and getting on the warm side so I’ll soon be able to complain that it’s too hot! Hurrah!

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2021 06:26

Morning wenches.

Another sunny day ahead and it’s an early finish and then I’m off the rest of the week!

Hope you had a better night Helen.

How’s the car Wicked?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2021 09:28

Morning. Much better night, thanks LetUs. I had breakfast sitting outside - it was very civilised Grin

I'm also off today, and Friday, and rather wondering what to do with myself. (Given the unavailability of actual HBFs - inconsiderate sods.)

FancyFancy · 02/06/2021 13:17

Afternoon - possibility of thunder today, although I may have scuppered that by remembering to bring the washing in this morning.

She shows promise letus, try testing her by watching other faf-infused programmes maybe?

Hope you're enjoying your day off helen & are actually, you know, taking the time off?

You will be fine with the watering apricot - look how fab we are at looking after the livestock when helen is on holiday Grin

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2021 17:10

Afternoon wenches.

They are jolly inconsiderate aren’t they Helen? Finally get some time off and where are they eh? Hope, as Fancy says, you actually did take some time off.

I shall subtly question DS1 as to her viewing habits Fancy. 🤞🏻for you getting some thunder.

DH had thoughtfully organised my afternoon for me following my early finish by arranging for someone to come up about some building work. So I’ve made sure I was home on time, rushed about sorting washing etc so I wasn’t upstairs when he arrives. And guess what, he hasn’t turned up and no contact with DH to say why or that he’ll be here later. And no DH, don’t think of arranging for him to call in the next two days as I’m damned if I’m waiting in.

ApricotCrush · 02/06/2021 17:28

Afternoon. Lovely and sunny again, but it's gone very dark now. I think we'll get some rain.

After worrying about the watering all night, (what if the car won't start, what if I run out of petrol, what if I can't open their front/back doors as they're awkward), it went well except that I left the gate to the vegetable garden open and had to phone DS to tell him as I imagined their dog rampaging all over his plants when they get back. Honestly I don't know why I worry so much. As Fancy says, we're brilliant at looking after stuff for those on holiday. Hmm

Oh LetUs that is really annoying. I often get told there's a parcel arriving which must be taken in, when I've arranged to go to town or something. Angry

Hope you enjoyed your day off Helen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2021 17:51

Afternoon. I haven't done very much, which is nice. Though I feel like I should have been doing things.

Did you have any thunder Fancy? DH says we might have rain on Friday.

Well done on the watering Apricot and yes - you're all very good at looking after the livestock, so watering should be easy Grin

FFS at, a) having your afternoon 'organised', and also at people not turning up. Very FFS Angry

LetUsPrey · 03/06/2021 06:33

Morning wenches. We’ve had rain overnight so that’ll freshened things up. DSis’s sportingactivity got called off because of a thunderstorm and heavy rain and she wasn’t that far from me.

Apricot. The worry thing is a pain in the arse isn’t it?

Yes Helen what you should have been doing was relaxing and having time to yourself

Today will be spent stripping beds, washing, assisting DS2 with revision, and some shopping. And sitting outside on a lounger.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/06/2021 10:59

Morning all (just about).

Have had a busy morning of getting a kitten!!!!! Short notice phone call last night to say that there was an abandoned kitten needing a home, so now it is curled up hiding in a box in a cage, and we're all rather besotted (if traumatised about remembering how to look after a kitten). Stupid cat has been for a sniff and a hiss, and stalked off upstairs in disgust. Poor Stupid Cat - I'm sure she'll get used to Cute Kitten.

Very hot and sunny again, but it threw down with rain over night - woke me up Shock so I'm a bit tired today (what with that and stressing over kitten prep, and DH needing to be patched up after SportingActivity)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 03/06/2021 11:08

Squeeeeeeeeeeeee at new kitten!!!! How exciting!

I won’t be sitting outside at the moment or putting out washing as we have rain. Have done some revision with DS2 which he was super excited to do obviously. Admittedly I doubt at 14 in half term I’d have been turning cartwheels at doing revision.
