Evening wenches.

Haven’t done much today.

I saw a kingfisher years ago but it was at a Wetlands Centre so that was cheating a bit.

The sweet peas sound so lovely Fancy.

Warmed the very flatbreads through and topped them with melted mozzarella for both DC for a snack. DS1 declared them really great and was I making any more. I think I might give them another go, see if I can get the dough to rise next time.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/08/2021 21:42

Evening.

See, I said that the flat bread would be good LetUs Grin

The weather's been weird - probably similar to Apricot's. The dog walk was spent with fleeces going on and off like yo-yos depending on what the sun and wind were doing.

Sweet peas are fab - I need to pick some from the garden before they go over. They've not done very well this year (because I haven't watered them enough when it was dry.)

Morning wenches.

I wanted to see the dough rise though Helen - perhaps it’s a wench thing WinkGrin

DH has had to go into work today. Combination of staff on holiday this week with a Covid case and another isolating as a consequence is massively stressing him out. My day will consist of washing, ironing and other housework.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/08/2021 09:41

Evening wenches. It's getting very autumnal here, dark in the mornings. Sad

I went into town this morning to stock up on general stuff. Free parking, yay!

I don't like the sound of that TB film either Helen. I know he likes to have a go at different stuff but it does sound rather unsavoury.

Wine for MrLetUs when he gets home.

LetUsPrey · 30/08/2021 19:21

Evening wenches.

There’s something rather good about free parking when you go shopping isn’t there?

I shall get Athos to slather you in antihistamine cream (if that works for mosquito bites) Helen.

Some fab Paralympics today. I think it was yesterday in the heats that JP gave a little wave to camera when he was introduced. I went a bit funny so I can only imagine how Fancy felt Grin

Had a very productive day but will spend the evening not doing much.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/08/2021 20:58

Evening.

My bank holiday weekend seems to have involved carting/stacking copious amounts of wood. Dad had several trees down this year and we've been clearing them up. Athos can give me a good rubdown before he slathers me in cream. Grin

Free parking is the best, especially if it's unlimited

Morning wenches. Saw that interview too Helen Grin

I am contemplating getting up. It’s not going well. Supposed to be taking DS1 shopping after work but I want to fit in an exercisething as I’d planned to do one on Sunday or Monday but couldn’t be arsed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/08/2021 08:54

Morning all. I am contemplating hanging out the washing, but the weather's looking very dubious. However, the problem has just been solved by StupidCat sitting on me, because now I can't do anything at all Grin
Other than that, work.

ApricotCrush · 31/08/2021 17:37

Afternoon. Another miserable day, and it's so cold. I'm thinking of putting the heavier duvet on the bed. Sad

I went to get some petrol and they've changed over to the E10 thing which I didn't know anything about until I read the email from Money Saving Expert last week. Cars registered before 1st January 1998 can't use the E10 petrol. My car was registered on 1st November 1997. Hmm I think I can use the super unleaded which is more expensive, but I panicked and didn't fill up. I think I'll have to phone the dealership or DH can.

Yes, I saw JP too and thought of Fancy.

Aww at StupidCat.

LetUsPrey · 31/08/2021 20:39

Evening wenches.

Clever StupidCat Grin

Brrr Apricot. You need wrapping up in HBFs. That sounds a right pain re the petrol.

Work was as expected. Did the exercisething when I got in, then took DS1 out for return to university stuff.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/08/2021 20:55

That sounds like a productive day LetUs

I hadn't heard about the petrol thing either Apricot - what a pain for you Sad

I have had a headache for most of the day, so I need to have an early night...

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 31/08/2021 21:47

Evening
I did see the JP race, enjoyed the interview afterwards Grin

Worky McWork today - well when I got in. Overslept after a late night due to DC dramas/chatting
Am working at home tomorrow at least

I prescribe watching some faf to warm you up apricot

Erm, aren't flatbreads supposed to be, erm flat letus? Grin

If you have all the mozzies apart from the behemoth I killed the other day helen then I have all the midges. Little bitey fuckers.

LetUsPrey · 01/09/2021 07:57

Morning wenches.

They weren’t just flat Fancy, they looked like they’d been steamrollered Grin

Been reading about the petrol thing on the BBC this morning. Hope the head’s better this morning Helen.

Quite dreary this morning. Short day though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/09/2021 09:36

Morning all.

FFS at all the bitey things.

Hope that that DC Drama has cleared over Fancy - much like the clouds, though they haven't. I know it's not been that long, but it seems to have been cloudy with a chance of meatballs no sun for weeks. Sad (though the idea of watching HBFs to warm up is a sound one)

Using HBFs to keep warm is always a good plan. I came across this, sadly very short twitter thread yesterday about the perils of deep-diving back catalogue. The best one is sweary so I had to tell twitter tha, yes, I really did want to read it. twitter.com/redfacts/status/1432641930396114944

I too am doing the Worky McWork thing. More spreadsheets, and trying to find a missing £181 which the finance system and the spreadsheet are having a disagreement over. FML, etc.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 01/09/2021 16:47

Afternoon. Same weather here, first day of meteorological autumn. Sad

Love the Back Catalogue Deep Dive. Yes, been there, done that many times and with singers too.

Hope you've found your missing amount Helen.

LetUsPrey · 01/09/2021 18:45

Evening wenches.

After a dreary start, the day has ended up with sunshine. Bit of a breeze though.

How’s the treadmill Apricot?

Hope the dramas are resolved Fancy. I’ll get Jonnie to sprint over to give you a rather fabulous reason to oversleep Grin

Did you get the system and spreadsheet to work nicely together Helen and find the missing sum? I’ll occasionally get asked to “just sort out that balance and then the file can be closed”. Most of the time it’s easily resolved, but then there are the times when I’m going round in circles trying to sort out other folk’s fuck ups.

Have tried the flatbreads again. Success! —even though I used the plain flour instead of bread flour by mistake— Dough rose beautifully and they smell and taste like bread. Two lots of washing done. One planned, one not as had to strip DS2’s bed because he had yet another nosebleed in the night.

We’re doing episode two of Vigil tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/09/2021 21:29

Yay for flatbread that worked! Grin

Sad to report that I didn't identify the last £9.25. But I got round it by suggesting that we replace the spreadsheet figures with the actual figures from finance and then continue to use them going forward Grin (it was a hideous mix of cash balances and accrued balances being used on the same spreadsheet - just... why?!?!)

I also did a load of washing. Rock'n'roll it ain't .... Hope that DS2's nosebleed wasn't too bad.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/09/2021 08:12

Morning wenches.

Well done on getting your figure(s) sorted Helen. Also going forward the HBFs will assist with that

Quite dull here. I’ve got to go to work and I don’t really want to.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/09/2021 09:09

Morning all.

FFAS Texas. That's my contribution to Current Affairs. That gave me a bonkers Gilead-style dream last night. Excellent Hmm

Elsewhere, CuteKitten is probably about to switch to Killer!Kitter, DramaQueen chicken has laid one egg

Weather is same as. Meh.

So glad I don’t live in either USA or Afghanistan Confused

FancyFancy · 02/09/2021 12:42

Afternoon, brief lunch break as I need to leave on time tonight for a comedy gig.

Am rather behind on Paralympics watching but did see Sarah Storey being as awesome as ever.

FFAS Texas indeed. Women's rights really are going backwards in lots of places Sad

ApricotCrush · 02/09/2021 17:46

Afternoon. Cloudy day, but it's brightened up now, yay!

Ah, the treadmill. I got on it earlier and it worked. I thanked DH for mending it and he said he hadn't touched it. Confused We can only think that as it's under a perspex roof the sun has had an effect on it which has sorted itself out. We shall see.

We're watching Vigil too LetUs, or Line of Boaty as someone has called it. Grin

Gilead indeed. Sad

Oh dear, bad CuteKitten.

Have a lovely evening Fancy.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/09/2021 18:41

Been out to a restaurant for the first time in a year. Amazing Indian food Smile

LetUsPrey · 02/09/2021 20:44

Evening wenches.

Ended being lovely today weather wise.

Ah the healing power of the sun Apricot! Grin at Line of Boaty.

Ooooo at meal out Wicked!

Sarah Storey is indeed an absolute bloody legend. I’ve been loving watching The Last Leg every night.

for Texas.
