Today I will remember to pick up DS and then we'll go to BigCity for shopping and stuff.

Afternoon, lovely day here, been out in the garden since lunchtime.

I did see that about Tom Cruise. The air ambulance sometimes flies low over us, but I'd be horrified if something tried to land. The biggest thing to land here was a heron when we had a pond and that was terrifying, their wing span is enormous. TC was nice to the children though.

Will have to look up Ghosts, it's totally passed me by.

We're going out for a meal this evening with friends. I didn't fancy a restaurant on a Saturday, so we're going today instead, hopefully it will be less busy.

Shopping was semi-successful but we ran out of time for free parking - escaped the fine by 2 minutes (phew) so I'll have to go in again. Car parks were all really busy/full - hope that Apricot's restaurant is less busy.

Restaurant was lovely, we'd never been there before and the meal was good, but unfortunately we had a group of people with a toddler who spent the evening squealing and running around while they were laughing at him. Why are some people so unaware of others?

Did the exercisething when I got home from work. Tomorrow I plan to bake in the morning. We have relatives visiting for the day, we’re out for a chippy lunch, and then we’re at some friends for food and drink and chat. So I really do need an early night.

Morning. CuteKitten has already been up The Tree again. He also got himself down - I don't know how because I was headfirst in the chicken coop, cleaning it out, so the first I knew that he was down was a little furry thing chirping at my feet. I have put the ladder away again. We shall see... Now I'm doing sudoko and then back for a lie-in.

Oh speaking of bed. Weird vaguely HBF-ish dreams. I went to the theatre fell asleep, then when I woke up, TB and his other half were also just waking up in the seats next to me. That was about the extent of their involvement apart from an overheard comment that implied that they had small children and lived in bungalows next door/close to each other. The main gist of the dream was that I left in someone else's coat, and thus didn't have my keys, and wasn't allowed back in due to an anthrax scare so I was contemplating phoning Fancy to see if I could crash at hers, and then wondered whether to ask work colleagues if I could crash at there. Thus making my dream located in two completely places at the same time. Stupid dream lack-of-logic.

Outside was sunny, but is now clouding over and looking like rain. There are lots of geese about at the mo, and the swallows have been lining up on the wires for the past couple of weeks. #WildlifeReport

Hope that LetUs had a good baking session. Also FFS at Johnny on Fancy's behalf. It's very inconsiderate of him. Couldn't he do multiple events? I've just seen the female long-jumper run the women's 100 as well - why can't he multi-task like that?

I’m knackered already. Flatbreads lived up to their name rather too well unfortunately. Taste not too bad but won’t be taking any to friends’ house. Shortbreads look good though. Have done window/door visits and got some prices . Lost count of the number of washes.

Had the heron pinched the seagull’s cheese sandwich Fancy? If so, serves it right, PAYBACK TIME SEAGULL (never letting that one go)

I think JP’s heat is tomorrow at 13.29. I mean it might be. Not double checked that or anything I bet he’s very good at multi-tasking

Just having a minute before we have to go out for late lunch, then back home, get changed, and then out again. Drink will be taken this evening.

Oh dear. I decided I must get on the treadmill again, and disaster - it has broken. It obviously decided it was never going to be used again. The belt goes round, but I can't set the speed so if I want to walk at one mile an hour it's fine. DH will have a look but he's not very hopeful. I went round the road instead and took a parcel which had been misdelivered to us on the way.

Weird dream Helen. Well done to CuteKitten for getting down the tree by himself.

Late chippy lunch was amazing. Food at friends’ house was amazing and I had a few drinks. Lovely to see people again but I won’t be getting on the scales tomorrow.

Another sunny day but seems a bit breezy so not sure if jigsawing outside will take place. Dilemma. We’re up to get the dressing gowns washed stage of washing.

Wildlife report - I forgot - I scared saw a kingfisher yesterday! Both of us minding our own business and equally startled to see each other - but I didn't turn tail and shoot off in a flash of colour. Stunning little bird! In more 'stupid bird' news, one of our chickens is a complete drama queen. I was sitting on the sofa with CuteKitten when one of the started up - honestly, you'd think that it was being murdered with al the squawking. But no, it had just laid an egg, and was telling everyone all about it. So anyway I've collected the eggs now.

Today plans involve taxi-ing DS, horsing, and dog walking. And shopping, because we need food. On the downside, we will miss afternoon paralympics. Fancy will have to watch on our behalf.

It is also not very sunny here, so hopefully it won't rain.

Afternoon, spent much of yesterday pottering the in garden - tidying up, moving weeds & plants and doing some feeding. Am very pleased I have more colour than at the same time as last year. And the cheap sweet peas I got from Waitrose are very fragrant, have picked some for my front room

Ooh nice helen, would love to see a kingfisher. It's much less busy bird-wise in my garden at the moment, hopefully it's because they have plentiful natural food sources around and not because ScaredyCat has eaten them all.
