Great news about second jab ww

I have very much enjoyed my day off thank you - actually saw FancyMan for more than 30 minutes, we even managed a short walk to enjoy local wildflower. I have also been to the garden centre and watched some Olympic rowing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/07/2021 21:05

Hurrah for seeing FancyMan at last, and for Wicked's second jab, and for the cooler weather.

I have been WorkyMcWorkface and haven't got anything interesting to say. How have the Olympics been?

Evening wenches.

Been a smidge cooler here today but I’ve been pretty useless due to snottiness and itchy eyes. I don’t know why but it feels a bit daft to have hayfever over the age of 50 Grin

Squeee at CuteKitten doing the stalking thing!

Hope you get an ever better night’s sleep Apricot.

Hurrah for second jab Wicked! Hurrah for seeing FancyMan and having a walk!

Watching some of the Olympics opening ceremony. I was reading about some of the Japanese artists’ work for the Olympics where they’ve taken the countries’ flags and transformed them into samurai.

LetUsPrey · 24/07/2021 07:52

Morning wenches.

Left the washing out last night to get darked on. First time I’ve done that —won’t be the last—

Quite cloudy and much cooler. Lovely.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/07/2021 08:44

Morning all.

Darked-on washing is the way to go LetUs Grin especially when the weather's good. (We have sunshine just now.)

In this morning's Adventures of Cute Kitten he got soundly cuffed by StupidCat for getting too close to the latter's food. StupidCat then walked off, so CuteKitten dived in and troughed as much as possible before I lifted him off. StupidCat is very stupid sometimes. Hmm

This morning I should be going out with FriendWithHorses to a horsey thing.

Also, the friend I did a no show on, then cancelled our re-arranged meet-up with 3 hours to go, which isn't nearly as flakey as me, but still - it made us laugh.

FancyFancy · 24/07/2021 15:12

Olympics have been a bit weird with no crowds - am watching goals from the football, seems to be more added crowd noise for the men than the women Hmm

Was pleased to see oiled up Tonga man in the opening ceremony again and another followed suit, think he was from Vanuatu, or possibly another Pacific island nation. In an case, a tradition that will attract no complaints from me if it spreads Grin

FancyFancy · 24/07/2021 15:15

I do have a minor complaint at the Swedish women's football team kit. It's one thing for the ref to look like a highlighter, but a whole team? My eyes hurt - still, they beat the USA, so go Sweden!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/07/2021 15:40

Oh they did? Yay!

ApricotCrush · 24/07/2021 17:33

Afternoon. Cooler today and cloudy. DH is back with a mountain of washing just as I've got the basket empty.

Your holiday went quickly WW, but yay for second jab and for Swedish women's football.

Can't get into the Olympics but I said that last time and as soon as we started winning golds I took more interest. Hmm

Why do I keep thinking it's Sunday? Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/07/2021 20:04

Evening all. I have had a busy day with horsing and then copious mowing/fencing/weeding/shed tidying. I may have overdone it slightly since my back is hurting again now. Though it wasn't at the time.

CuteKitten caught his first (baby) mouse! #ProudOwner Though he didn't have a clue what to do with it and just batted the poor thing round the patio with great enthusiasm - it was't just a wiggly furry toy - it squeaked as well! Until he killed broke it. Then it was just a furry toy to throw about. Alas, poor mouse.

LetUsPrey · 24/07/2021 20:15

Evening wenches.

I thought it was Sunday a little bit ago Apricot! Was relieved when I realised it’s still Saturday Grin

Have done lots of washing. Watched some of the Olympics. Both DC got very into the 3x3 basketball. We’ve been out to our local sit in chippy so now I can’t move. I want a brew but can’t be arsed getting up.

I saw that bit of the opening ceremony Fancy and thought “they’ll have gone over budget on the baby oil”

Well done CuteKitten! Not so well done Helen. You’re having some problems with your back aren’t you? I’d suggest lying down and only indulging in light activities with some small movements.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/07/2021 07:40

Morning wenches. I stayed up far too late, and got up far too early. urgh.
Everything is fed and watered though. And now, bed calls again...

(It's warm but misty and generally feeling a bit damp. No rain or thunder yet though.)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 25/07/2021 08:51

Morning wenches.

How your back Helen? And your toe?

Warm and cloudy here. DS2 is already being a bit of a ratbag. Sigh.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/07/2021 13:25

Afternoon.
The toe is fine (I'd forgotten about that!) The back may be causing problems since I've just been up the road helping clear a tree that had come down and blocked the road. I also went over on my ankle and fell over in a most undignified way. WhereTF are the HBFs when you need them to swoop to your rescue?! FMRealLife as opposed to the version that exists in my head! Still, hopefully no lasting harm done, just a bit of bruising.

Still warm and cloudy here too. Cute Kitten is marauding outside.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 25/07/2021 16:58

Afternoon. Still very warm here, but cloudy.

My UTI has returned! Sad Why do they only give you 3 days' antibiotics, it's not enough? It's like stopping a course half way through. I spent most of the morning on the phone to 111 trying to get another prescription. I've got 5 days' worth now, hope this works.

I want fish and chips from the chippy now LetUs.

Well done to CuteKitten.

FancyFancy · 25/07/2021 17:29

Afternoon, have been mainlining Olympics, predictably. Have also done some weeding - throwing out the unwanted ones & moving the desirable ones. Bin is at a toasty 50 degrees - I was going to clear out the bottom layer but rain & thunder was forecast so I postponed. Needless to say, not a drop so far

Only 3 days apricot? Sounds like madness - I don't think I've had a course lasting less than 5 days and it's usually a week.

Congrats to CuteKitten Grin My two have been busy too - have to keep an ear out every evening for the tell-tale chirp of a self-satisfied cat.

LetUsPrey · 25/07/2021 19:15

Three days of antibiotics Apricot?! Pleased you got more sorted and 🤞🏻for them sorting out the UTI.

The hunting aspect is something I definitely don’t miss about having a cat. Meow look over here meow through this door meow in this room meow it’s a bird meow was a bird meow soz about the feathers all over the garden meow.

Have watched much Olympics, visited parents, ironed, started a jigsaw. LovelyMIL is still in hospital though but hopefully be home in a couple of days.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/07/2021 20:54

Evening - FFA re inadequate antibiotics. 3 days?!? That's ridiculous. Hopefully the next course will do the trick.

Glad to hear that the bin is up to temperature Fancy Our rain gauge remains stubbornly empty. We have no thunder forecast anymore Sad OR rain Sad

LetUs - I didn't know MIL was on hospital? Sad Hope she's doing ok.

CuteKitten brought another mouse in this afternoon Shock He isn't doing the proud chirruping yet - it's more the pitiful squeaking from his new toy Hmm

Thank you for the bubble-wrap and bed rest. I think I'll be heading for a bath shortly, but will need to keep my ankle up and out of it. FFS at clumsy self, and at the tree falling to bits.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 25/07/2021 22:48

Fingers crossed MIL is home soon letus and that the bath helps the ankle helen

Still no thunder, but apparently there's a chance of hail - could do without that, the fuchsia from helen's dad has gorgeous large flowers on it at the moment & I don't want them damaged!

LetUsPrey · 26/07/2021 07:38

Morning wenches.

Quite cloudy but probably still warm. Perhaps you could thunder but with just a bit of rain Fancy.

LovelyMIL had a knee op and recovery isn’t go quite as hoped/planned. Doesn’t help we can’t visit, but everyone’s in the same situation.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/07/2021 11:26

Morning all (just about, anyway).

All busy this morning - CuteKitten was off to the vet first thing for jabs, and then it was straight into work.

Fancy - should we send HBFs with umbrellas to protect your flowers? Grin LetUs might let you borrow this one... or there's a small selection of other options...

Ankle is still sore and a bit puffy this morning. (which reminds me, I do have an actual proper ankle support bandage which, miraculously, I've managed to find! Shock ) My elbow is all sorts of colours, and my backside has an interesting bruise developing. And of course my back is sore. Plenty to keep Dr Athos busy with during his very thorough examination Grin. Good job we're not planning on having a break in 5 days that involves walking up and down hilly parts... Hmm FML etc.

Poor MiL LetUs Sad I do hope she's out soon - everything crossed (even including legs - if no HBFs are about).

Wicked are you moving soon? Is it this weekend?

Hope that apricot is feeling better and antibiotics have kicked in (again).

Afternoon. We were promised rain on Saturday and Sunday, but nothing. The lawn is resembling Weetabix. Sad

I actually didn't start the new antibiotics because after desperately phoning round to get them yesterday, the symptoms almost disappeared. Confused I'm seeing how it goes, knowing I have them to fall back on if necessary.

Hope LovelyMIL recovers from her knee op soon LetUs and Helen doesn't do any more damage to herself.

Yay for toasty bin Fancy.

Yes WW are you all packed?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/07/2021 19:14

I’m getting the keys on Saturday and moving in next Friday. I have started packing, where did all this stuff come from Confused I’m chucking away some stuff and donating some to a cat shelter that have a little second hand store. Feels good to help the cats Smile

Three days sounds very short Apes, but glad that you’re feeling better.

LetUsPrey · 26/07/2021 19:36

Evening wenches.

That’s very exciting Wicked!

We have rain forecast the rest of the week so I’ll be needing at least one of those umbrellas Grin

I’d suggest non-dangerous activities for the next few day Helen, like reading, but you’d probably end up with a massive paper cut.

Hope the UTI clears up without the antibiotics Apricot and stays away.

How are there 13 year olds winning gold medals?!

LovelyMIL is feeling a little better today apparently. We’re hopeful she’ll be out in a couple of days. Thanks wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/07/2021 22:12

Evening wenches. I'm stuck on a sudoko - can't even get it started really. So I'm grumpy.

Glad to hear that Apricot is feeling better and LetUsMIL is improving and Wicked is getting packed...
