Great news Wicked

Issues with DS2’s remote learning in that I could see stuff set for other classes in his year, but nothing came through for his classes. Kept refreshing but nothing. Emailed his form tutor in the afternoon to explain. She said it had probably been emailed (which he only checks in school because it doesn’t get used that much) and that’s how they’ve been sending work recently for isolating students, which we didn’t know because fortunately he hasn’t had to isolate. Didn’t go down well with him when I phoned to let him know. I’ve looked at how the work’s set out and it’s not great. He’s not sure how to get any work to the teachers this way rather than how it’s been done like homework on the app or website. But it’s only for today so whatever. Then a letter came through - because of increased positive student cases and therefore staff having to isolate, they can’t safely keep the school open for students to go in. So that’s it now until the end of the school year. They’ve been fantastic to now, but the remote work’s changed as has how to submit it. And I’ve just remembered I stripped the beds this morning. Aaarrrggghhhhhhhh.

Had an email saying DS2’s come up as a close contact and has to isolate to the end of next Monday, and to organise a PCR test for him. Nearest test sites coming up are flipping miles away and nothing in the evenings so it’s a super early start for us in the morning, and you know how much I love driving places I’ve never been before. Sigh, it’ll all be fine. It’ll all be fine.

Perving is my only pleasure left helen I don't have time for anything else at the moment. I did get to see FancyMan yesterday - but only because he couldn't get home from work because of the flooding, so came to mine so I could drive him home. So we've managed 30 minutes in each company in the last month, 20 of which was spent driving.

As predicted, this morning was totally fine. DS2 seems to have inherited his navigation skills (the lady in my phone had stopped talking to me) from me but we got there okay. Did his test, took him back home, went to work where I’ve been set up in a separate room for hopefully just today and tomorrow.
