Morning wenches.

Sounds about right Helen Grin although he has improved a bit.

Went to bed around 10.30. Couldn’t sleep so at about 1.15 went back downstairs for half an hour or so and then came back up. That seemed to do the trick. Fairly sure I dreamed that Fancy was pregnant and having a bath.

Thank goodness it’s Friday - just need to get to the other end of the work day!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/07/2021 07:49

Morning all.

Here LetUs - have some matchsticks. The bath was me last night - I poached myself in one for over an hour, so no early night for me. FFS I hope that Fancy's dream pregnancy was the result of a HBF encounter, and she got that part of the dream Grin

Weather report - high cloud - nothing very inspiring, not not soggy doom-and-gloom weather.

Wildlife report- buzzed by a robin when I was topping up the feeding.

Cat report - Stupid Cat still hates CuteKitten

No dreams for weeeeeks for me, so sadly no dream visitations from hbfs. Fortunately no pregnancy either GrinShock

FancyFancy · 09/07/2021 12:59

Friday night - Lucifer and pink night Grin

ApricotCrush · 09/07/2021 18:15

Evening wenches. Uninspiring weather here too. Cloudy but quite warm.

I went to town this morning before they start closing everything off a raft of improvements. It really does need it, as it's looking very run down, but I can't see how they'll attract more shoppers. We had a fancy new Debenhams but it closed down after 18 months. Our huge iconic department store which opened in the 1870s has left its premises and moved to where Debenhams was. I went in there this morning and it was empty. I suppose the same thing is repeated all over the country but I find it sad that our towns are dying. Sad Why go into town when you can order something from home and it's on your doorstep the next day? Don't know what the answer is.

We've been watching The English Game (Netflix) which is very appropriate at the moment as it's a true story about the origins of football and the first professional footballers. It's not all about football as it involves personal relationships and the gap between the upper and working-classes.

Have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 09/07/2021 20:22

Evening wenches.

Sunny, not sunny, sunny, not sunny. But no rain!

Enjoy Lucifer and pink - which you’re absolutely fine for in your non-pregnant state! (You were very pregnant)

I know exactly what you mean about shopping on the high street Apricot. Wanted something for DH the other week. Checked Boots in store stock checker - in stock at branch near work. Took the trouble to go over there. Not in stock. Checked a few times online over the following week - always showing as in stock. Boots online hasn’t been great so i ordered online from somewhere else. Shops have offers online that they don’t have in store. I want to support the high street but gosh it’s a struggle. And yes, lots of empty units.

That programme sounds like something DS2 would absolutely love! Shame we don’t have Netflix Sad Poor deprived child Grin

I’d hoped to get the bedding done this weekend. Rain forecast all day tomorrow. Top.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/07/2021 23:11

Evening all.

Covid has stuffed up plans of seeing friends at weekend Sad That was despite me not getting the spare room ready, in order to avoid jinxing the whole thing. FFS. The only plus side is that I didn't have to flail madly to get it ready at the last minute. Cute Kitten disapproved of my slovenliness and weed on the doormat to make me wash it though. He also made a break for it and troughed most of StupidCat's food. StupidCat looked no more put out that usual, and was a bit hissy about it. CuteKitten was too busy stuffing his face to pay any attention Hmm CuteKitten is a piglet.

Similar weather to LetUs today. Work went quite well. and I'm tired...

Morning wenches.

Oh no Helen, that’s such a shame Sad. CuteKitten is definitely the star of some books.

Rain which looks like it’s set for the day. Plan is baking, shopping to nearby village, blow my nose a lot because of pollen despite rain, and —nag— remind DS2 about homework.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/07/2021 11:30

Morning all. No rain here, yet. I'm supposed to be out at an open air thingy this evening, so hopefully it holds off. Other than that, my general inclination is to do bugger all today.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 10/07/2021 13:29

Afternoon, much rain here too.

Boo to covid buggering up plans Helen, suspect that with high rates and less restrictions it's going to be a very disrupted summer.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/07/2021 15:11

Afternoon - I have done a towels wash in the machine, so it's peeing down now...

ApricotCrush · 10/07/2021 17:31

Afternoon. No rain here. Shock

That's a shame about your weekend Helen, hope the rain clears for you tonight.

Do Netflix do a free month's trial LetUs? I think DS2 would like it, particularly where a lot of it is set. Wink

I've done sod all all day. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 10/07/2021 18:18

I think we did a free Netflix trial a while ago but it might be worth seeing if it’s been long enough for me to get another one.

Hope the rain goes away for your open air thing Helen.

Spent all afternoon at LovelyMIL’s. She’s had a new kitchen which still isn’t finished and has been a bit of a palaver from start to not yet finished. The standard of fitting doesn’t seem that great, they’ve been back to the oven twice and it’s still not working. DH has been fitting the new washing machine which proved not straightforward because of how other stuff’s been done. I made suggestions for two different issues which got poo poohed but, guess what, DH then came up with the same ideas and tried them and they worked!

So now we’re both tired and rather grumpy. I got to see some of the tennis though which was excellent.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/07/2021 21:58

Evening all.

This evening's entertainment was great fun, and it didn't rain, so hurrah!!

FFS re. the kitchen LetUs and MrLetUs 'coming up' with your ideas to make things work.

I saw some of the women's final, which was cool.

Morning. I am up and awake The sun is shining, so I should be cheerful, but actually I am tired and just want to be asleep in bed still. StupidCat is shedding fur like it's going out of fashion. I've fed the livestock, so I'm going back to bed...

Morning wenches.

sorry, no, not seen her.

Not sunny but supposed to be dry to about 7pm. Today’s plan is washing, ironing, homework reminding, parent visiting, and tennis watching.

Not decided about tonight’s match. Every time I haven’t watched, they’ve won. Because that’s obviously how sport works Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/07/2021 10:52

That's absolutely 100% how sport works LetUs Grin I was thinking about going out again tonight, to avoid it, but it has sold out (to other people who wanted to avoid the football.)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 11/07/2021 16:33

Washing done (although rain has arrived earlier than forecast), ironing done, parents visited, and homework is apparently done.

So now I’m watching an absolutely belting tennis match.

ApricotCrush · 11/07/2021 17:02

Afternoon. Cloudy but not cold.

DS has been round with a suit for me to wash. I've always done them for him, ExW and GF seem scared of them. Hmm On one side of the label it says 'dry clean only' and on the other it says 'wash at 30 deg'. Confused Anyway, it's in the washer now.

Nervous about tonight. I hope it doesn't go to penalties. I'll have to leave the room. I was walking around the lounge in extra time in the last match.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/07/2021 20:27

Evening all. We have the football on, because DH saw the score and decided that he could bear to watch. Hmm Grin He has declined my offer of commentary though. Can't imagine why. (A white player is being chased by a blue player and now they're all mooching about - they must have lost the ball somewhere while I was watching my keyboard.)

We had a fnu day moving furniture about to use a new bookcase, except DH didn't like it (and to be honest, I though the old one looked better). So now everything back where it wasn't but the floor beneath the bookcase has been cleaned with a flamethrower and bleach and we have a pile of books which have been selected to visit the charity shops.

Weather has been nice, and I cheered up once I had a bit more of a lie-in Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 11/07/2021 20:56

What helpful washing instructions Apricot. I’m the same with penalties.

Helen Grin I’ve already been throwing in some song lyrics that refer to what the commentator says. I have the added bonus of having DS1 here to annoy too Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/07/2021 21:23

Just started watching the footie, the referee’s outfit is quite fabulous Grin
