Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Afternoon
That is very pretty ww. From a distance Grin
That apartment though is a little too white for me Shock

The forecast snow here didn't settle & has now stopped - it's pretty miserable out there now, glad to be indoors.

Enjoy your treats letus

ApricotCrush · 30/01/2021 17:27

Evening. Much snow this morning but it didn't stick and turned to rain this afternoon.

We were going for a walk but didn't bother. Feel like I'm vegitating. Hmm

Lovely pics WW, but no thanks.

Have a good evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/01/2021 19:19

Evening. Ah - yes Karate Kid re-boot. I'd forgotten about that Grin

I have been out for a mooch which mostly involved splashing in puddles and kicking channels into the gullies to let the rainwater drain into the ditches. Bucolic idyll and all that... Hmm

Witches - yes, James Purefoy has arrived. I think he's looking grubby enough to qualify as HBF, but the whole thing is so dimly lit that it's hard to tell at times Grin

That scenery looks bloody cold lovely Wicked I don't think we're going to get our skiing holiday this year Sad so we won't be seeing any of that scenery - unless the weather here does something disastrous Confused which I'd rather it didn't to be honest.

Enjoy your treats LetUs; Apricot - I've been re-reading your blog Grin Happy days...

Oh - we have snowdrops here. Haven't seen any sigh of the bluebells yet, but snowdrops are out and the daffodils are well on their way.

Morning wenches.

Had far too much to eat last night and ended up having an early night with a stomach ache.

at lighting being too dim for HBF assessment

Frosty here this morning but I’ll drag DS2 out for a walk later.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2021 10:53

Morning. Was frosty here too, but is nice and sunny now with a cold breeze. Washing is on the line. I need to do some hoovering too. All the excitement here... Hmm

Will also be dragging DS out for a walk today. We ought to go now really while it looks so nice out there. But then again, his gloves are on the line, so maybe I'll wait for them to dry first.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 31/01/2021 16:24

Afternoon - dull and grey today & a bit chilly, but hey - tomorrow is February, it's not snowing and the daylight is nearly 1 hour 20 minutes longer than the shortest day Smile Also have lots of snowdrops in the garden, some early primroses & the bluebells are sprouting - including in the patch I'd thought I'd cleared last year Confused

Last night I persuaded DD to watch episode 1 of Band of Brothers. Opening shot got an 'oooh' of approval Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2021 16:56

Hurrah for the continuing education of FancyDD Grin

Nearly 5pm and not quite dark yet - hurrah for that as well.

We got out for a walk - DS complained about it being cold (it was). But it was dry (as in not raining - it was waterlogged or underwater underfoot). More tidying has been done, along with hoovering and washing hung out to mostly-dry. Plus I have prepped pudding and peeled the spuds. Now I feel all ahead of myself for timings, which inevitably means I'll lose track of time and end up in a panic trying to get stuff done.

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Got DS2 out for a walk. Had a driveway conversation with parents, although not for long as it was cold for them with the door open.

What a lot of lovely positives Fancy! Especially FancyDD’s growing range of televisual appreciation Grin. I caught about the last hour of Back To The Future the other day and encouraged DS2 to watch it.

You sound like you’ve been very busy Helen! I’ve not even done the ironing. Hmm, I think I shall do that and then reward myself with a bath.

ApricotCrush · 31/01/2021 17:16

Afternoon. I've been behind myself all day because I went back to sleep after the morning cuppa. Hmm

Shame about the skiing holiday Helen, I enjoy your daily reports. Grin I've re-read the blog too, brought back some lovely memories. Smile

Bluebells are tough Fancy. DH pulls them out every year, knowing they'll come back.

We watched The Dig last night on Netflix. It's the true story about the discovery of an Anglo-Saxon burial ship under a mound at Sutton Hoo. Very good.

ApricotCrush · 31/01/2021 17:19

Yes LetUs these driveway chats are cold, wish the weather would warm up.

FancyFancy · 31/01/2021 19:53

Ooh I've heard about that film apricot, was tempted to watch - now I have your good review it sounds even better [smile} Glad it wasn't just me being crap about digging bluebells out! I may move them to the bottom of the garden where not much grows - sounds like I will have a plentiful supply!

LetUsPrey · 31/01/2021 20:06

Read the review of it on the BBC website and thought it sounded great. And now it has the Apricot seal of approval! I keep considering getting Netflix but I never get round to watching what I record/download anyway. I’d never leave the house!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2021 20:51

That film was on the news recently - the actor (Ralph Fiennes?) was coached by a Suffolk bod to stop him sounding all West Country Grin We've had far too much to eat and I'm stuffed. [pig]

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 31/01/2021 22:46

I quite fancy the look of Ralph Fiennes but he does sometimes come across as a bit of a bellend, so I'm conflicted. Did think he was hilarious in Grand Budapest Hotel mind. Apparently my parents saw it and weren't impressed. I thought it was a strange choice when they told me, but having since seen it I am frankly bemused they ever watched it all Grin

LetUsPrey · 31/01/2021 22:56

I liked him in the Bond films too. Grin at strange parental film choices.

I’m watching Great Pottery Throw Down and then it’s hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 31/01/2021 23:00

Happy days... Grin

Have just watched Deadpool 2. Highly inappropriate and very funny. DS definitely didn't watch it too. Absolutely not. Confused

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 01/02/2021 07:25

Morning wenches.

Obviously MiniHelen didn’t watch it. That would have been inappropriate

February’s here! Still doesn’t make getting out of bed any easier. I suppose I should though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2021 09:40

Morning! It's... cloudy with a chance of meatballs (DS hasn't watched that for ages.)

So far I have spent the morning running round like a headless chicken doing last minute prep for builders. DH is on my shit list for sleeping in while I did the running about. "You should have woken me!" he says. I think he's an adult and shouldn't need to be told that if we have builders coming then he needs to get up early and do some adulting. FFS.... HBFs don't need to be told that sort of thing. I would very much like to be tangled up with Athos, please-and-thankyou.

Now I'm trying to work/supervise homeschooling.

ApricotCrush · 01/02/2021 16:29

Afternoon. Yay for February. Nice day but cold. We went a walk this afternoon around the roads and it's nice to see some flowers are sprouting and the purple heathers are out.

I cut DH's hair this morning. Shock

I loved Ralph Fiennes in The English Patient, but he's a lot older now.

at MrHelen. Hope the work is going well.

LetUsPrey · 01/02/2021 19:37

Evening wenches.

at MrHelen

DS2 loved that film Grin

How’s MrApricot’s hair? Super stylish I expect.

Mother’s had her jab today and she feels fine so that’s good.

FancyFancy · 01/02/2021 21:14

Evening
Have been over at FancyMan's, had a brief walk and then watched Brief Encounter. Both got terribly distracted by the background music which reminded us of other songs

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2021 21:31

Evening all. We are watching Perfect Planet in which David Attenbrough tells it like it is and is very depressing. Sad

LOL at distracting soundtracks Fancy Grin I had another walk today in the sunshine, which was nice but cold.

I loved The English Patient too Apricot, it's been years sinc eI've seen it though.

Builders have got on well. Lots of Hmm expressions and WFT moments as the uncovered evidence of previous shoddy work. Also deceased rodents in the insulation.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 01/02/2021 22:10

Sunshine helen? Envy

Yikes to deceased rodents Shock - were they hiding from the cats up there? Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/02/2021 22:40

at rodents hiding from cats. One of them had become mummified to put them off, and the other one was busy growing baby flies Envy (sorry) I think it's safe to say that the cat evasion tactics would have worked.

Hayloft for me...

PS - we're forecast for rain tomorrow, if that makes you feel better?

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/02/2021 07:13

Morning wenches.

Musical memories (for want of a better description) sounds lovely Fancy

Envy(not envy) x a billion at the discoveries Helen.

Somewhere we go on holiday has a building that used to be an abbey and apparently a nun got walled up - not sure if as a punishment or if she was hiding - and she died. Don’t think she was hiding from cats though.

I’m putting off looking out of the window as we were forecast some snow overnight.
