Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Afternoon. Bright but not sunny today although quite warm. I really shouldn't complain about the neighbours having work done as DH is doing the perspex roof. It's not noisy though, just occasional bursts when he's cutting it. Hmm

Your apartment is beautifully presented WW. I love those cat curtains. Hope everything goes well for you.

LetUsPrey · 20/04/2021 18:33

Evening wenches.

1st June Wicked?! That’ll come round super quick! Are the cat curtains from IKEA?

I went to work, I worked, and I came home. Trying to summon the will to sort a wash to finish tomorrow morning.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 20/04/2021 20:32

Yep, IKEA, I have another pair as well, love those curtains. I also have fabric with the same print but in orange and white, I’m supposed to make curtains, haven’t happened yet Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/04/2021 20:49

Evening. Fingers crossed for a smooth sale Wicked - even if you do have to move several times to get to your cottage Grin

Oh LetUs - I know. I have done the same without actually going anywhere. #Tedium. MASSIVE, unending tedium.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 20/04/2021 23:37

Your apartment looks fabulous ww Smile

Went for a walk & a picnic with FancyMan today, was very lovely - saw a couple of chilled pheasants & a field of very cute lambs. Oh and we had ice creams - well I'm on holiday Grin

Roll on things opening up, the tedium is draining - I just want to go somewhere. ANYWHERE!!!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/04/2021 07:35

Morning all. Back to being gloomy and grey again, but I have woken up feeling vaguely awake and perky Shock There must be something wrong with me. Confused Bet it won't last though...

Blackbird and robin are both on the bird feeder, keeping a wary eye on each other while they eat from different things. Chickens are chicken-ish, though PsychoticCockerel has calmed down a lot this spring. He also looked like an extra from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre after he cut his comb yesterday Shock He didn't seem that bothered tbh, so he got a bit of tlc and compression to stop it bleeding.

Wicked - that can be your new job when you get to the cottage - new curtains for new windows Grin

Your day sounds wonderful Fancy.

Hope everyone has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 21/04/2021 07:36

Morning wenches.

Weather is a bit can’t be arsed so far. Have seen a sparrow being very busy.

Your holiday sounds just perfect Fancy!

Short day because it’s Wednesday. DS2 is embracing not being a weekday morning person with some enthusiasm Grin

ApricotCrush · 21/04/2021 16:58

Afternoon. We had rain overnight which wasn't expected and left a rather large puddle under the roof which DH is installing but hasnt finished yet. Hmm

Glad you're enjoying your week off Fancy.

Oh poor PsychoticCockerel, hope he's alright.

LetUsPrey · 21/04/2021 18:34

Evening wenches. I think we had a bit of rain today too but the rest of the week is on the up so I’m definitely getting the washing out in the morning.

Did the perkiness last Helen? And how’s PsychoticCockerel?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/04/2021 20:29

Evening all. No rain here. Eeek at the unexpected puddle Apricot

Perkiness was... well, it didn't stop me yawning or being bored with work. But I haven't been a misery-ridden gloom pants. So that's a good thing Grin

Not much to report here though. PsychoticCockerel seems fine today, though still looking very much like a Chainsaw massacre extra - my efforts at rinsing his feathers out weren't very effective.

DH wants to replace his car and is doing my head in with his search for an affordable car that is fun to drive and very practical. It's like his holiday demands to go somewhere that has lots to do, has no driving involved, and not in a city, or at a Center Parcs-type thing. It's a permanent contradiction in terms and so bloody draining. Not that he's not wonderful and all , but....

Morning wenches.

Hurrah for no misery gloom pants and okay PsychoticCockerel! Not so much with MrHelen and his sort of Schroedinger’s(?sp) Car.

It’s forecast to be beautifully sunny today and tomorrow so at least the washing will dry even if I’ll be sweating in the office. Still, it was quite nice last week when I was off so mustn’t grumble. And it usually means it’s nice for wenches who can enjoy it so that cheers me up Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/04/2021 07:46

Morning all. Normal service is resumed - I crawled out of bed like one of the living dead this morning. On the plus side it's bright and sunny (and frosty).

FancyFancy · 22/04/2021 14:50

Afternoon
Went out for dinner with DD last night which was fab - so nice to go out. Food was very good ate far too much as was the pink wine and service was very fast too. The walk home up the hill was a drag though Grin

So far today I have been pottering. Planning to put the rest of the new plants out this afternoon, and then put my feet up this evening.

Love Schroedinger's Car..

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/04/2021 14:59

It's not really Schroedinger's Car - it's more than the car he wants is a complete contradiction in terms and doesn't exist.

It's lovely weather out there. I don't want to be stuck indoors on my computer. Poo :(

Hurrah for the nice meal out though Fancy - and it's ok to eat too much because walked it off on the way home Grin

Evening wenches. Beautiful day here, I've been out in the sun. Hope that the weather will last until the weekend for those of you having to work. Sad

Another sewing job has arrived. This time it's a golfing jumper that DS has somehow managed to tear. He's probaly caught it on some random tree. I'm trying to 'knit' the dropped stitches with safety pins but my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. Hmm

That reminds me I keep getting emails and texts from the opticians to go for a test...

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/04/2021 18:41

So, we had snow today Hmm

LetUsPrey · 22/04/2021 18:51

Evening wenches.

Snow Wicked?! WTAF?

That sounds a lovely evening and day Fancy.

Nothing much to report. Feeling very tired even though I feel like I’ve been sleeping okay this week. I’m watching last night’s Sewing Bee and admiring the haberdashery Can’t see Apricot in there Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/04/2021 20:37

Snow?! Shock

Morning wenches.

that was toasty

Sunny again and set to be warmer than yesterday. There’s a blackbird on the grass and a huge pigeon which is so big I suspect may be a chicken in disguise or perhaps a small dog.

Anyway it’s Friiiiidddaaayyyyyyyyyyy!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2021 08:05

Morning all. Clear and sunny, and quite a sharp frost this morning - all glittery in the sunlight.

Hurrah for Fridays - I'm going to try and be organised Hmm and shoot out for chicken food before work today. I'll probably get distracted online, but it's the thought that counts. (Though re-stocking the actual chicken food would count more.)

We've been doing a wellbeing thing at work, and I'm going to try a cold shower thing this morning, which other people swear by for making them feel good. It may not end well, but I'm intrigued by the idea of a 15 second short sharp blast for waking me up Grin (Obvs, I'd rather be woken up by a HBF, but we work with what we have...)

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 23/04/2021 17:49

Afternoon. Another lovely day and forecast again for tomorrow.

I was sitting outside and a flock of seagulls went over. They were flying east which is weird. We do get them sometimes in the winter but not this time of year. Confused

I really ought to watch Sewing Bee, but I don't know whether DH would be interested. Will have to look it up when I'm on my own.

Eeek at snow WW. Shock

Grin at chicken in disguise or small dog.

ApricotCrush · 23/04/2021 17:51

I had a cold-ish shower last week when the boiler had a bit of a fit. It was awful, couldn't wait to get out.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/04/2021 18:26

Cold Shower..... the theory is to start of with a short bursts (30 seconds) and build up to 2 minutes. Wenches, I made a noise audible only to bats and dogs, and lasted 3 seconds. I'm going to try again, but gradually decrease the heat - not just go straight from toasty to arctic Confused

Busy busy at work, and a lovely sunny day, so I got out on my bike at lunchtime (my pulled hamstring seems to have finally cleared up, but not the glute. Must have a word with Elk) Now I'm going to toddle off outside again....

PS - chicken in disguise - small elephant from the size of some of ours Wink Flock of Seagulls are playing at W-Fest this year. Maybe that's where they were headed Apricot - it' not until August, but it's good to be organised. Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 23/04/2021 19:40

Evening wenches. Starting with 30 seconds is not what I’d call a short burst! Not surprised you only lasted a matter of second Helen. Brrrr! Good news that the hamstring is recovered, but not so much re the glute. Perhaps Athos will rub it better?

Perhaps the seagulls had spotted a small child eating a sandwich, said small child just holding sandwich at their side whilst having a bit of a rest, and then the seagulls - or one of them anyway - plan to swoop down and steal said sandwich out of the small child’s hand and frighten them! —never letting that one go—
