Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Evening wenches.

I know just what you mean Apricot. - starting something and getting distracted. Hope you’re not too achey tomorrow.

Alarm hopefully sorted. Saw mum and dad, and then this afternoon I sat outside for an hour or so with a book and then a sudoku. I may do bath’n’book tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/04/2021 22:07

Evening. Distraction and lots of half-finished jobs is the story of my life. Hmm (I'm sure I read a tip on MN about having two hoovers - one upstairs and one downstairs. I scoffed at that as being mega-lazy. Then we inherited a hoover and thus had one upstairs and one downstairs. It was a revelation. Definitely worth doing if you have the space. )

Relentlessly busy day with work - which is what you'd expect from taking two weeks off Confused An inbox full of "Can you just..." emails.

The jab was fine, but I had to queue for about 15 minutes due to muppets in front of me turning up for their jabs half an hour early, so people who turned up at the right time were stuck in the queue behind them. FFS Angry (winge, winge etc) Still, done now. Fingers crossed for no side-effects.

Anyway, LOL at cockroach of the mobile phone world I'm imagining a little nokia scuttling about the floor now and lurking under cupboards. (DH swore we had cockroaches once - I can't remember if it turned out to be an earwig or a woodlouse Hmm ). I lob out the results of haircuts for the birds to use, but never see them taking any for nests. Then we found an old nest at the weekend and it was lined with either mine or DS' hair - hurrah for recycling! Grin

Sewing Bee has finished, so I'm off to the hayloft... night all.

Oh well, that's weird - it posted it mid-edit when I was remembering that MN didn't like me posting GIFs... whatever.
Washing-up done.
Hayloft time.

Morning wenches.

That is excellent recycling Helen. Never thought of doing that with hair, although I don’t do DH’s any more. Poo at all the emails and megawork. Fingers crossed for no side effects.

Oh look, it’s mine and Apricot’s dates Grin

I’ll watch Sewing Bee today. Also planning on dragging DS2 out for a walk.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/04/2021 07:51

Morning. Had a rather hot and prickly night - internal thermostat was all over the place, and my arms is a bit sore, but otherwise ok.

LetUs, if you and Apricot are doing the Poldark contingent then I'll borrow Dr Athos. He probably needs to keep a close eye on me to make sure that I don't develop any side effects.

FancyFancy · 15/04/2021 13:33

Afternoon
I did have that thought letus Grin

Am taking advantage of a temporary lull in work by doing an online tax course. Not exactly riveting, although the speaker is doing his best.

That is very resourceful with the hair helen! Glad the after effects aren't too bad and hope your thermostat calms down soon.

I hope apricot hasn't been immobilised?!

ApricotCrush · 15/04/2021 16:07

Afternoon. Lovely day, I've been outside for a couple of hours.

Amazingly, no aches or pains from what I did yesterday, although I can still make use of Drs. Athos and Ennis. Grin

We do have two hoovers Helen, but unfortuntely the upstairs one, a Hoover Senior which must be forty years old and is much the better of the two, has broken down and is awaiting spares from Amazon.

We rewatched Line of Duty last night. Still none the wiser. Confused

LetUsPrey · 15/04/2021 17:06

Afternoon wenches.

Sat outside today for about an hour. Haven’t done much today except potter about. My new book’s ready for collection so I’ll do that tomorrow.

I hope Doctor Athos has been extra attentive Helen.

Hope the course was worthwhile Fancy. Excellent news re no aches or pains Apricot!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/04/2021 20:25

We can always make use of HBFs can't we Apricot - wenches are practical like that. Waste not, want not, etc.

How was the course Fancy? Scintillating-to-bearable?

That sounds like a nice relaxing day LetUs - did you manage to drag DS out for a walk?

Anyway, evening all. Dr Athos has been invisible fictional very attentive today. I wish. Still, at least my thermostat seems to be back to normal. Todays excitement a was local escaped livestock klaxon on FB. DH and I went out and there was no sign of them; someone drove up and down the road scouting for them with no luck. Still, they're back in their field now, but no update on FB about what happened so we shall never know where they went. I expect it will feature on the Discovery channel at some point as a baffling unsolved mystery, complete with annoying commentary from a perpetually astonished narrator. Not. Grin

LetUsPrey · 15/04/2021 22:02

Didn’t go for a walk no —mainly because I couldn’t be arsed— but we’ll go for my book in the morning and go straight out after that.

Perhaps they were trying out epic camouflage Helen?

I think I shall head to the hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/04/2021 07:45

Morning. Clear and sunny and frosty again. DH is out the door and I'm swithering between going back to bed for another 45 minutes, or just cracking on with the day Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 16/04/2021 07:54

Morning wenches. Been awake since 6, DH went to the gym, and I eventually got back to sleep about 15 minutes ago. DS2 has woken me up to say morning.

I’m voting for go back to bed Helen.

Bookshop, walk, pottering today.

FancyFancy · 16/04/2021 12:46

Afternoon
The course was bearable helen. Only because the presenter was quite a good speaker.

Am in the office today - looking across at teh parrtk & wishing I was out there! Still I have next week off, so not long to go......And of course as today is Friday, that makes it Lucifer & pink night Grin

LetUsPrey · 16/04/2021 14:47

Oooo hope the weather holds/improves for you next week Fancy! Lucifer and pink - definitely an innuendo there Grin

We have done book shopping and errand in town this morning, and are now back from a walk. I would say he only complained for about 3/4 of it which is an improvement. I’m now sitting outside and am about to start a sudoku.

ApricotCrush · 16/04/2021 17:20

Afternoon. The BBC weather app said it was going to be sunny all day, but it lied. I got all my jobs done early, went outside and it had clouded over. Grrr!

That is so annoying when you get invested in something on FB and then it doesn't get updated. A dog escaped just before Christmas round here and everyone was looking for her and I was so worried in that awful weather we had. In the end a dog capture team trapped her two months later 60 miles away and returned her to her owners who promised to post pics and updates, and since then, nothing. Confused Oh well, at least she got home safely.

Nothing of interest to report. Have a lovely evening all. Wine

ApricotCrush · 16/04/2021 17:47

OMG I've just read that Helen McCrory has died. I didn't know she was ill. I'm so shocked, she was only 52. I loved her in Peaky Blinders, and of course in The Deep Blue Sea with TB. RIP Sad

LetUsPrey · 16/04/2021 17:54

It clouded over here about 4pm so I came in. I’ve been quite lucky with the weather really.

Awful news about Helen McCrory Sad. Never watched Peaky Blinders but yes she was amazing in The Deep Blue Sea, and I loved her as Narcissa Malfoy in the later Harry Potter films.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/04/2021 18:49

Still sunny here (sorry!) I'm having tea- maybe I should get outside while it's still nice.

Also just seen re. Helen McCrory. Fucking, bastarding cancer. That's all I have to say. Sad and Angry

The manshapes have gone out, so I am watching a Sheila Hancock film that was on a few weeks ago.

So, tonight I have watched TV, I have stacked wood, and I have cleaned up half a rather large mouse . I lobbed the back-end-of-a-mouse over the hedge in the dark - or I tried to. I have a suspicion that it may be dangling from a branch at eye-level Confused

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 16/04/2021 22:06

That’s an image and a half Helen

We have played cards and DH has watched football. I’ve been yawning for a good couple of hours so I’ll head to bed and.no doubt will still be awake for another couple of hours.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/04/2021 22:18

The HBFs are waiting in the hayloft - get yourself up that ladder LetUs

Morning wenches.

What a beautifully sunny day!

DH and DS2 are off for their haircuts today, getting mine done tomorrow.

Housework stuff to do today but I plan at some point to sit outside in the garden doing not very much at all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/04/2021 12:38

Afternoon. Was another frosty start to the morning here. Glorious weather though.

I have been out doing taxi runs for SportingActivity and am rewarding myself with a smoothy and a jammy donut. [grn] Then I shall hit the garden. (BackEndOfMouse seems to have vanished into the undergrowth, or been eaten by something else. Hurrah, either way!)

ApricotCrush · 17/04/2021 16:46

Afternoon. Lovely day, I've been sitting in the sun.

Eeek at BackEndOfMouse. Shock

WE'RE GOING OUT!!! Only to DD's for a BBQ, but it's the first meal I've had cooked for me since last August! We'll probably freeze, but I don't care.

Have a good evening wenches. Wine
