What the actual with the snow?! I thought sleet was mad enough.

We watched Line of Duty last night - oooooooo.

I’ll get up in a minute. Honest.

Afternoon. Sleet was forecast here too, but it didn't materialise. I tried sitting in the garden as it was beautifully sunny, but it was freezing.

We watched Line of Duty; gosh it's all happening. I love Ted: "The name's Hastings, I'm the epitome of an old battle."

Have done rock all today except eat chocolate and watch murder mysteries.

That line from Line of Duty reminded me of one from Poirot. One of Hastings’ old chums calls him Battler as a nickname - Battler Hastings

Can’t even motivate myself to do the bath’n’book thing.

Evening. Have done very little apart from work today, even though it looked quite nice out eventually. (It wasn't - the wind was bitter.) The weather tried to snow again this evening.
I recommend staying in bed with HBFs...

Oh I saw a trailer for that and thought “I’ll record that” and then didn’t. I think DS2 was giggling at the trailer. I shall download. Is it 14 year old appropriate?

We also had snow here - didn't settle though and it then brightened up. Was still pretty cold, but FancyMan & I sat in the garden with our coats on and drank tea & ate chocolate. Also did some gardening. And ate cheese. Owing to the cheese glut at Chateau Fancy this is a compulsory activity.

Back to work tomorrow - boo!

Frost on the cars this morning. Lovely blue skies. At work this week so could do with DS2 being up before I go. He’s still in bed. No doubt he’ll get up as soon as I sit down with my breakfast.

Morning. We have a scattering of snow and some dirty black clouds looming up, so I don't think that the sunshine will last long.

When I say nods to things like x-files, I actually mean blatant neon pointy arrows, btw .

not enjoying being back to work - am envious of the woodpigeon outside that is basking in the sunshine.

Sunshine?! We have dark clouds and driving wind bringing us polystyrene snow/hail/large fluffy snowflakes etc in whatever order the weather prefers.

Afternoon. Where do the days go? I can't believe it's Wednesday again tomorrow.

I went to do some errands this morning and had to wait for ages outside two chemists as they only allow two people in at a time. Absolutely freezing.

We've had Bob the Builder Roofer here today resurfacing a flat roof and the poor chap has been pelted with snow and hail showers all day, mixed with bright sunshine. He says it won't affect the job, which looks pretty good.

DH has been demonstrating different meals over the last few days to DS1 so he can increase his repertoire when he’s back at university - to impress his girlfriend—.

Well done to DS1 - we all love a man who can cook for us

Morning all. Last night's lashing of hail is still lying on the lawn and roof, but nothing falling just now. Birds are stuffing their little faces though.

And yes - Rush is the James Hunt/Niki Lauda biog. It's very well done - nicely balanced between racing and their rivalry. With a side order of dramatic licence - "Well, it didn't happen like that" says DH, who then describes gruesomeness that the film omitted.

Yesterday's snow, snow FFAS, has melted - possibly from the heat of my disapproval.

Birds very busy here too. Think I saw a goldfinch in the garden but my eyesight is too crap to be sure

Afternoon. Snow has gone here too.

DH doesn't cook as I may have mentioned many times before, except the soup. My MIL once told me I hadn't trained him properly. I told her she had him first. He's brilliant at DIY though and falling off ladders and out of trees. He can also use the sewing machine and will do his own alterations.

Strangely, DS is a brilliant cook, no idea where he got it from.

Doctor Aramis was very diligent in his ministrations thank you Helen, and I said ahhhhhhhhh an awful lot. And ohhhhhh and mmmmmmmm

Don’t think DS1 would be much help with the baking. That’s a skill he will have picked up from me rather than DH so the less said about that, the better

Work’s crap but it was a short day so there’s that.

Chilly here, but no wind to speak of, so it's a lot better than it was. Speaking of Goldfinches (Fancy) we had one chasing around with a blue tit this morning. And looking out of the window, I see that they've demolished the fat square.

DH has taken DS off to be sporty, and to do a food shop. We shall have a walk later. Thrillz.

Actually, 'Thrillz' is a bit harsh. It will be a perfectly nice day, just slightly groundhog-ish!
