Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Evening all.

MrH has a bit of a comedy bandage on his finger, and feels a bit battered and bruised but seems ok otherwise. We had a walk this evening and saw the usual assortment of wildlife.

DCs are so cute when they're small Grin

I'm going to head off for and early bath/book/bed

Morning wenches.

Grin at comedy bandage. I also did the bath’n’book thing last night.

Had a lovely lie in. Got the washing on and then I have to get DS1’s room ready because DS2’s school stuff is still all over it from lockdown. Going to bake a toffee loaf too.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/04/2021 10:58

Morning. Also had lie-in here and about to go out for a walk. Apparently it's s bit nippy out there (says DH, who has taken DS to SportyThing) though I don't recall it being too bad when I fed the chickens etc at 6:30am... Hmm We shall see. I have wrapped up warm.

Grin

Hope it wasn’t II chilly on your walk Helen.

DS1’s back. DS2 was so happy for him to be home Smile

Toffee loaf was a success

ApricotCrush · 02/04/2021 17:55

Evening. Lovely day, but there's a cold wind.

It's DS's bithday today and he came round this morning to collect his card and birthday money, which he was off to the garden centre to spend. I can't believe it's been forty sevensomething years since I was a first time Mum and wondered what the hell we'd done. Hmm

Lol at MrHelen's comedy bandage.

Lovely that MiniLetUs is happy to have his brother home. Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/04/2021 18:31

Imph bin im a gbn safnun...

I've been in the garden this afternoon. I have probably pulled muscles again. Dr Athos can give me a massage. Grin The walk was also nice. It's cold out, but that wierd sort of cold where you get too hot really fast if you keep active, so you unzip your coat. And then you start getting cold again, so you do it up again, and you get too hot... Hmm
Have also let the chickens out now that restrictions have been lifted, so they were 'helping' in the garden too.

DS is back and has a medal. Awww. Smile

Happy birthday to ApricotDS, and hurrah for LetUsDS1 being home. Did Fancy say that DS was home or am I making that up? Yes - he's home too. Yay.

Aw at all the cute DCs and DGCs.

I would love to have some toffee loaf but I seem to have eaten rather a lot of cheese this evening.

LetUsPrey · 03/04/2021 07:19

Morning wenches.

Happy birthday yesterday to ApricotDS! I recall that feeling of “what have we done, what do we do now?” when we got DS1 home.

Well done to MiniHelen! I know exactly what you mean about the hot/cold walk situation. Hope you’re not too sore after the gardening.

There’s more loaf left when you’re ready Fancy, and for Wicked.

I fell asleep on the settee last night at about 9pm for an hour, then had an earlyish night.

Today is stripping the beds I think and then lots of washing. Thrillz.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/04/2021 10:19

Morning. It's grey and miserable out, but not going to get any better so hopefully the sheets will get a bit dry on the line. Or they'll just stay cold and damp. Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/04/2021 10:51

So nice to have some time off. Yesterday I worked between 7-9, it’s the early start that I have a problem with otherwise it’s ok. Then visited mum and we grilled some food in the forest. Then I drove home and did sod all the rest of the evening. Still feeling lazy today.

ApricotCrush · 03/04/2021 16:09

Afternoon. Sunny but cold here.

I've got no motivation to do anything. DH is jet-washing the terrace and I feel guilty. Not that I can do anything to help. Hmm

Grilled food in the forest sounds lovely WW.

Star for MiniHelen.

LetUsPrey · 03/04/2021 18:19

The day has turned out to be rather nice. Got some bedding on the line, and was able to sit outside at my mum’s with them.

Grilling food in the forest with your mum sounds fantastic Wicked!

I’ve not done much either Apricot, other than the washing and that’s not exactly taxing. DH has been busy though but I’ve managed to squash down any guilt Grin

There were two Poirot (Peter Ustinov) films on today so I’ve recorded those and have watched some of the first one.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/04/2021 18:53

Evening all. I got two loads of washing on the line, re-potted some fruit bushes, helped DH dig up bamboo in the hedge, and generally did stuff. So I'm feeling rather productive and have earned some downtime. I'm mooching online now printing off a map of our (very badly) tiled floor to let me mark up where the grout needs replacing.

Weather hasn't been brilliant, but the washing has dried enough to be brought in for finishing off. And since I was busy doing stuffoutside, it didn't feel too cold. I also spent a lot of time bending over at the chicken coop, cleaning it out. HBFs did not oblige. FML and all that.

Yum! Smile
Had better go and help DH cook tea.

Oh! I got stuck on yet another sudoko, and had to get DH to point out the glaring "It must be this number" that I'd missed (he's allowed to do that when I ask him to). Then I got to having just 4 squares left to fill and realised I'd gone wrong. FFS...

I'm off to mark up my tiling map - laters.

Grilling food in the forest sounds lovely ww - I'm still working my way through the cheese Grin
Have been mostly just doing some jobs today - quite a dull day, if productive. DC are at their dad's until Monday, so also very quiet. Have lined up Foyles' War & ironing for the evening. The thrillz. As letus put it Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/04/2021 21:43

We've finally got round to watching Dunkirk (recorded over Christmas!) which was very good. Now on a Foo Fighters concert Grin

That's uncanny helen - do you have a bugging device in my home? Shock Grin

LetUsPrey · 04/04/2021 08:50

Morning wenches.

That’s pretty much DS2 as well when he asks for a snack. In fact, Wallace has been a nickname for him since he was little Grin

Sounds like wenches had lovely evenings.

Looks like another nice day with the weather. Visiting parents and ILs in their gardens and then ironing I think. No doubt there’ll be football on so I shall likely have a bath’n’book.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 04/04/2021 10:40

Life wouldn’t be worth living without cheese Easter Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/04/2021 11:24

Morning all. Happy cheese Easter - let us all celebrate the day of the Giant Chocolate Bunny Grin
It's lovely weather out there

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 04/04/2021 16:48

Happy Easter Easter Grin

A woman after my own heart ww still plenty of cheese left here - some very tasty blue and a disgracefully creamy French one, plus a couple of others.

ApricotCrush · 04/04/2021 17:04

Happy Easter wenches. Easter Smile

Lovely day. We went round to give DGS his Easter egg and had a chat in the garden then this afternoon the lads played golf while I did a spot of sunbathing. We toyed with the idea of a BBQ but it's gone rather cold now and anyway Sainsbury's weren't open for supplies. Perhaps a bit early in the year.

Wildlife Corner: Four mallards landed on the roof and quacked their heads off for ages. I tried quacking back to them, hoping they'd come down into the garden but they flew off, still quacking. I probably terrified them and the neighbours. Easter Grin

Line of Duty tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/04/2021 21:00

LOL at Apricot - Queen of the Ducks Grin DS was the God of Chickens today - I let them out and then they followed him round the garden like devoted acolytes (because he always gives them food).

We have almost fixed the drain problem now - the first pipe is laid and connected. Also had a walk, and played light sabers in the garden, lay on the slide (in lieu of a sunlounger) and generally had a nice day. Except I also did laundry so now I need to make DS' bed. blergh. (Cabin bed, it's a bloody nightmare to wrestle sheets on and off.)

Ho hum. I will not be watching Romeo and Juliet live, I'm too tired...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 04/04/2021 21:21

No Romeo and Juliet here tonight either. It’s being recorded and I’ll watch it in bits.

We started out with sun but quite breezy and then brrrr. We have sleet forecast for tomorrow.

I love the image I have of Apricot quacking away and MiniHelen leading his merry band of chickens.

I’ve eaten a bit too much chocolate. DH checked that we’re watching Line of Duty tonight. Yes okay. However, this obviously meant are we watching Line of Duty tonight but you’ll have to wait until I’ve finished watching the football.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/04/2021 21:25

I'm planning the HBF book'n'bath thing... with chocolate...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/04/2021 07:26

Ah - bank holiday Monday. That traditional day of rest and relaxation... when you get woken up by the cat yowling outside your door at 6:!5 (because someone didn't shut the stair door last night) and then it's snowing when you go out to feed the chickens. Confused
