Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Morning wenches. Took ages to get to sleep (not because of the scary film I watched, just because) and then I’ve been awake since well before 6. Also for a good few minutes I thought it was Sunday. What a muppet Grin

Anyway onwards and upwards - said the HBFs to the wenches

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/03/2021 08:59

HBFs are excellent at all onwards and upwards manoeuvres - plus all other orientations. Grin

We have the plasterer here to finish up with building work, and then we will have no excuse for not finishing the decorating in that room. (So we will invent one, or just style it out as an 'industrial, pared back aesthetic') I woke up early too LetUs - and was very cross because the pub had confiscated both my twin skateboard and my bucket of double cream, and left them out the back, where they had been stolen. Hmm Okaaaaaaaayyy make of that what you will. My subconscious is deranged!

No birds to report - I ignored them all this morning when I topped up the feeder. I think there was a pheasant strutting about, but that could have been yesterday, or any day this week tbh..

Dying of boredom on a tax software course........

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/03/2021 15:11

Also bored.
Plasterer is here and making a mess plastering. DS is being a sod over refusing to switch off YouTube while doing schoolwork. (A phone ban combined with YouTube being blocked may be on its way - though hes back to school in 2 days, so that will be of limited impact.) DH has gone to the office, so I have to stick around when really I'd like to go out for a walk - lovely weather atm and no work.
FFS...

I'd like that sort of boost - PleaseAndThankYou Grin
Plasterer has left, so now I can hoover and mop and mop and mop....
Athos will reward me when I'm done though. Absolutely. #DelusionalMotivation

FancyFancy · 09/03/2021 16:09

Yes, that boost would be welcome.
It is not getting better - I know I won't remember much at all would help if I concentrated

ApricotCrush · 09/03/2021 17:21

Afternoon. Still cold and miserable here. I went a walk round the garden to see if anything else was happening. Not much.

Is it 29th March yet? DH is practising his golf swing in the lounge. I can't look. Shock

Love Fancy's boredom course updates.

LetUsPrey · 09/03/2021 19:32

Evening wenches.

It’s astonishing how much dust plastering creates. Love new plaster though. That’s a bonkers and a half dream Helen.

Tax software courses are what clones were invented for, and then the knowledge just seeps in from your clone.

Is he miming the golf swing Apricot or is he using a club? Shock

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 09/03/2021 21:11

It’s snowing here Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/03/2021 21:36

Ooooooooooooh - is it pretty fluffy flakes Wicked?

Shock [horror] at MrA practising golf swings indoors. Probably best you don't look Apricot - let the HBFs distract you...

I've just had a long hot shower and was feeling very chilled. Then had to pay a vet bill, so I'm feeling less chilled. Think I may have an early night. Unless I open my sudoko book... Confused

Hope that Fancy hasn't actually died of boredom...

Morning wenches. I think I’d take a bit of snow at the moment. We have high winds forecast later tonight and all through tomorrow. I hate windy weather.

I have a sudoku app as well as a book Helen. I don’t recommend it, you’ll get nothing done. Other than sudokus.

DS2’s last day of remote learning —hopefully—!

I really should get up.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/03/2021 08:43

Morning. Windy and rainy here - but at least the new roof doesn't leak Grin

WE have the usual assortment of garden birds hanging onto the feeders for grim death. currently a couple of long tailed tits and a dunnock blue tit (they keep flying off while I'm not watching).

Worky McWorkFace today. Year End Looms and I must get my spreadsheets in order, and create new shiny ones to reconcile the useless finance systems with the reality that it can't cope with Hmm

Hope that everywench has a good day, and hurrah for last day (fingers crossed) of home schooling. DH picked up a bunch of lateral flow test packs while he was out yesterday - oh joy.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 10/03/2021 10:17

Morning
Very wet and windy here too, still at least it wasn't yesterday when I had a gardener round. Garden looks much better for a tidy up and the robins were happy as they followed him round as he dug over the beds.

No course today - hurrah! But I do have another one tomorrow that promising to be equally dull, but probably more useful in a practical way. Not entirely sure how there is 3 hours to fill on the subject though unless they go into brain death-inducing levels of detail that I will instantly forget

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/03/2021 11:21

How do you feel about Megan and Harry? I seriously don’t give a shit, I have my own problems.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/03/2021 12:37

Maybe I sounded too harsh Confused

FancyFancy · 10/03/2021 14:18

Can't say I give a shit either, in fact not even enough of a shit to find out what was said Grin It was only ever going to be a carefully scripted one-sided story with little chance of finding out which bits are true & which less so.

ApricotCrush · 10/03/2021 16:56

Afternoon. Rain and wind here too.

That's a very good distraction selection there Helen.

Oh, he's using a club LetUs and a practise one at that which is very heavy. He's got a spare piece of carpet on the floor but I fear for the light fitting and the flower arrangements. Shock

Good luck for the course Fancy, hope it's a bit more interesting.

Snow WW??? Mind you it's cold enough here for it. No, you're not too harsh about H & M. I could be a lot harsher but I'd fill the thread. I wish they'd go away and enjoy the privacy and isolation they supposedly crave, instead of trashing the country and the family who made her so welcome and gave her a fabulous wedding. I know the press were diabolical to her, but they are to all the royals when it suits them. I could go on...

LetUsPrey · 10/03/2021 17:21

Evening wenches.

Rain most of the day. Hope the spreadsheets went well Helen.

H & M - I would say they’re not exactly at the forefront of my thoughts and I’ve plenty of other stuff to occupy my mind. When it’s come on the news, I sort of blank it out like when they start talking about the cricket results on the sport.

Being given stuff to do at work by someone I don’t usually work for but parts of it are wrong so I’m not sure if this person’s a but crap or whether it’s a bit of “let’s see if you spot what’s wrong” which isn’t unheard of. Either way, I’m knackered.

And I’ve just remembered the washing finished about 40 minutes ago.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/03/2021 18:31

Windy, windy, windy. and also wet. Depressing weather.

No, not fussed about H&M. Am watching the Sarah Everard news unfold with depressed inevitability though. Sad

LetUs - are you tempted to return it with red pen scrawled over it? Or return it as is and ask for the final copy, not the uncorrected draft?

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 10/03/2021 18:53

That is awful news isn’t it?

I’ve sort of done that Helen - emailed back with “is this supposed to be this?” or “did you mean to say this instead?” or “could you stop being a bit crap?”. But most of all “please take ages to respond to my emails so it makes me on the last minute”, although they’ve got that last one nailed. Am Grin at asking for the final copy, not the uncorrectsd draft.

Despite reminding DS2 to try on his PE kit, he hasn’t done and he’s to take it in tomorrow. So if it doesn’t fit, either DH will have to go to the “shop in the loft” and I’ll spend the evening sorting through boxes of clothes, or DS2 will be doing PE in a fitted top and hot pants.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/03/2021 20:00

Googled her and that’s terrible Sad

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/03/2021 20:11

doing PE in a fitted top and hot pants. I just read that out to DS who is looking alarmed. I've had to reassure him that just because his legs and arms have grown, doesn't mean that his existing kit will be tight Grin We're watching a Bake Off and then it's upstairs to make sure all school stuff is ready to go in the morning...

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/03/2021 07:35

Morning. DS has trundled off to school with some nervousness. It started raining just as he left for the bus.

Is very windy. The birds have mostly got the sense not to try flying, though some are braving the bird table. (robin, sparrows - the reed bunting is back. Though with enough sense to cling to the static table rather than the hanging one - which is swinging about like a fairground ride. Two pigeons just made a small amount of headway trying to fly into the wind, but it looks like too much effort for too little gain.

Stuck on an easy sudoko again. FFS.

LetUsPrey · 11/03/2021 08:02

Morning wenches.

Much wind and rain here too. DS2 all ready for school. Says he’s not nervous and to be honest it’s difficult to tell if the grumpiness is his nerves coming out or just his natural morningness. They’ll be grand.

Now have an image of a robin clinging to the hanging bird feeder with its wings in the air shouting “scream if you wanna go faster!”
