Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Afternoon. Very windy here, it kept me awake in the night.

Grin at fitted top and hot pants. Hope he and HelenDS have had a good day back.

I've been going through my Mum's photos from when she was young and I've realised that I know very little about my grandparents and sadly have no-one to ask about them now. Sad I've decided to do a sort of bio with pics about our parents and their families so that if the DC are interested at some point in the future they have some info.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/03/2021 17:09

Extremely crappy weather here, windy and snowy. There’s a snowstorm going through Sweden now called Evert, kind of a lame name, like, I don’t know, Bert, in English?

LetUsPrey · 11/03/2021 18:45

Evening wenches.

DS2 said school was okay and Covid test was absolutely no problem.

Wind subsided early afternoon and then the rain started. Then it stopped and just as I got home and got out of the car the hail started Grin

What a totally lovely idea Apricot! LovelyMIL did a book about FIL and his family going back into the 19th century with lots of photos in it too. It’s fascinating.

I see/hear the name Evert I automatically think of Chris Evert, the tennis player Grin

I’m watching Poirot

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/03/2021 21:03

Evening. Sounds like MiniLetUs and DS had similar days. Smile I celebrated back to school by going back to bed, and woke up again at nearly 1am. It was fab, except then, by the time I'd put tea in the slow cooker and got washing on, I was massively behind on work, and didn't finish until nearly 7pm. Hmm

We've had lots of wind and showers today - my washing had an extra rinse cycle on the line, but I think the wind has finally dropped. Hopefully it will be another decent drying day tomorrow as well.

Mum has literal drawers of filing cabinet of family history stuff - she went off down all sorts of related lines, but it's an intimidating amount of material! Still, better to much than none at all.

Fridaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Still windy, but doesn't look like rain.

Usual birds are about, plus a four-legged furry one who was trying out the new 'snacks' before I took them out to the feeder. (Stupid Cat earning her name.) She didn't look over impressed by the suet pellets that she tried.

One day. FFS - he's been back at school one day and at the point he should be leaving for the bus, he's flailing over not being able to find his mask....

LetUsPrey · 12/03/2021 07:52

Morning wenches.

Yes, the getting up early to get cracking with school has worn off here too very quickly. at StupidCat and the suet pellets.

We have rain. All of it I think.

But Friday so hurrah!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/03/2021 13:51

Friiidaaayyy Smile The snow is starting to melt away, hoppfully my car is a bit cleaner. Been looking online and dreaming about travelling ❤️

FancyFancy · 12/03/2021 15:24

Afternoon. Day off today, although I did drop into the office to pick up stuff/drop stuff off as I was in the area - basically on my way to spend a small fortune in the garden centre.

It is bloody windy, cats not impressed at all.

Glad that miniwenches were ok going back to school and that the snow is melting for ww

That's a great idea apricot, I find family history really interesting & also wish I'd spoken about it more to my grandmothers when they were alive.

ApricotCrush · 12/03/2021 17:55

Evening. Weather's still rather miserable here. I went to Sainsbos this afternoon and nearly got blown across the car park.

Glad school went alright for the DS's.

I don't think we'll be going abroad any time soon WW. Not even sure when we'll be able to go to the caravan.

I love the garden centres Fancy but it is easy to spend a fortune.

Awww at StupidCat not being too keen on the suet pellets.

Have a good evening all. Wine

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/03/2021 18:48

Yeah I know Apes. I will never take that for granted ever again Sad I’m looking at hotels in London and Prague, drooling over breakfast buffets etc. But I’m still alive so I shouldn’t complain.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/03/2021 19:45

Evening.

Hurrah for melting snow and days off and SupportingYourLocalGardenCentre and Fridays.

Also windy here. I had a 'meeting' at work that was interrupted by me shrieking "It's raining and the washing's out!!!" Then sprinting out. It was, fortunately, a social catch-up meeting that occasionally veers off into work topics, so I caused amusement rather than offence Grin It wasn't just rain - it was lashing down and hailing Shock.

We are watching yet another Death in Paradise (we're working through them off iplayer). I may head for a book'n'bath. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't need to watch them every night. Hmm

Evening wenches.

Rain wind rain rain rain.

Am also dreaming of travelling again, up north, London - and I don’t even particularly like travelling that much Grin

You sound like my BestFriend on a garden centre trip Fancy.

at you interrupting the meeting Helen to bring the washing in.

Might watch Vera tonight, might not. Oooooo.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/03/2021 22:14

I didn't get to the bed'n'bath thing. will try again tomorrow...

night all.

LetUsPrey · 12/03/2021 22:44

We did indeed watch Vera so you can let go of all that tension Helen. What’s that? The HBFs have already seen to that?

I’ve been yawning for ages so hayloft for me.

LetUsPrey · 13/03/2021 09:09

Morning wenches.

We have bright sunshine but also very gusty winds and lots of rain. There’s a very determined small bird clinging on to one of the bird feeders.

I may switch things up this weekend and do the ironing today. There’s a film we might watch tonight - SAS Red Notice or something - with Sam Heughan in it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2021 11:19

Morning. It's mostly cloudy here with some sun, and lots of wind. DH has gone out to buy DIY supplies so we can finish up the room that the builders were in.

I have finally finished another sudoko which had me stuck and very grumpy for two days. DH showed me how to doooo iiiittt which, being a mature and grown up person, made me even grumpier. (No pleasing me, clearly. unless you're a HBF )

He's in some new show with another bod from Outlander LetUs - they seem to be being show how to be Scottish - sword dances and ceilidhs - it kept popping up on my FB feed last week.

It's definitely an 'indoors' day.

Blob arrived, feeling tired and meh. Fräsan and I are watching telly. Watched a really good movie yesterday, Gone Girl, with Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck. Really good twist.

ApricotCrush · 13/03/2021 16:51

Afternoon. April showers here. Confused

DH and I tease each other with the sudokus. If one of us is stuck the other will ask if any help is needed. Noooooo! Actually he's better at them than me.

We watched the episode of The Crown last night with TB. He wasn't in it much, but played an amusing character.

I'd like to see Gone Girl, will sort it out when we've finished The Crown. Awww at Fräsan watching telly with you.

LetUsPrey · 13/03/2021 17:53

I decided against the ironing so that’ll get done tomorrow.

Have done lots of sorting of paperwork that’s built up massively so there’s a big pile of shredding now.

That’s the thing with Graham McTavish is it Helen? I’ve seen adverts for it too. Well done on the sudoku. I know exactly what you mean about people helping with stuff and then being grumpy about it Grin

Squeeee at watching tv with Frasan. I think I’ve seen Gone Girl and enjoyed it.

I’ve a Miss Marple on - A Murder Is Announced - which is one my favourites. It’s recording it though as I’m planning an early bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2021 20:32

Evening. Today I have hoovered and cleaned and weeded. Whoop! Hmm I did manage to avoid being rained on, which was a bonus, and the chickens were very pleased about the weeding though - they got a wheelbarrow of weeds to rootle through.

I've heard good things about Gone Girl. Stupid Cat doesn't watch TV with us - she sleeps though it, curled up on laps. This evening she has been sleeping through DiP.

I am also going to do Athos bath'n'book tonight. I have a meaty tome about Shackleton, which I won't drop in the bath. I hope. I might take a sudoko with me too. (Living dangerously!)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 14/03/2021 08:54

Morning wenches.

That’s the danger with a bigger book Helen isn’t it? I can’t do a hardback in the bath as my weedy arms get tired.

Happy Mother’s Day. I’ve been given lovely cards - even DS1 remembered - and some daffodils which is perfect. It’ll be business as usual though today with washing and ironing and stuff. Might do bath’n’book if there’s football on.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/03/2021 10:30

Morning!
We have sunshine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, the forsythia is just about starting to flower. Hurrah!

I have a card and chocolate and biscuits. And I managed a sudoko all by myself in the bath without hurling the book across the room Grin as well and doing weights reading my book.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 14/03/2021 10:57

Morning, happy Mother's Day Smile

It's actually not raining or blowing a gale so I will head out to plant some of my new plants. For once I had timed the visit to the garden centre right - they had lots of plants, all looking like they'd been recently delivered so in perfect condition, hence the expense!

ApricotCrush · 14/03/2021 17:39

Evening.

We used to have a lovely forsythia outside the kitchen window, but the new neighbours cut it down. Angry It was in their garden though so I suppose I can't really complain. Hmm

The DC came round this morning with cards and flowers and we had a little get together, just the four of us, in the garden, socially distanced. Nice to actually see them in person. Smile It was very cold though.
