Up and about earlier than the rest of the week despite having a day off as my car’s in for its service and MOT. It’s absolutely weeing it down here too so I shan’t be going anywhere else the rest of the day.

The pancakes could have been better if I’d used a different pan but I went with what DH suggested which to be fair should have been okay as he does the cooking. That’s my excuse anyway

Brightening up here which is good - have a course for our new software this afternoon, should be fun. Not. Must do some prep beforehand so I can actually access the training wish me luck........

It's grey and dreary here and I ought to pull my finger out and be productive. work aside, we're nearly out of milk so I have to go to the shops.

We had pancakes on Tuesday and last night and will again tonight. I bought a dozen ready-made ones as I've spent too many years slaving over a hot hob.

Car needed a new bit (under warranty thankfully) which is only coming tomorrow so they’ve given me a courtesy car and I’ll collect it on Saturday.

Everyone’s back working Helen but most of the ones who can work from home do so. Some do come in on a sort of rota basis within their departments to sort out their files and stuff, others never show their face and expect those of us in the office to sort stuff for them as well as doing our own work —and they’re generally the ones you can never get hold of and are taking the piss—

Course was a bit stressful - remote learning involving new software on our new hosted desktop on one screen and following the course on Zoom equivalent out of hosted desktop on another screen. whilst fielding emails about a meeting tomorrow on the quiet I swear the first hour was mostly sorting out file issues and permissions. I came away feeling I'd spent all afternoon learning stuff that could have been explained in 30 minutes one-to-one

Ah well, progress & all that. New software does have some features that look quite practical, so I daresay we'll all be perfectly happy in a few weeks

Friday hurrah! And I actually had a decent night’s sleep! I’m planning bath’n’book tonight - and HBFs obviously.

Friiiiidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay We have high cloud and hazy sunlight. DH slept badly, DS is on his new x-box game already.

I have fed livestock and rinsed the worst of mud out of a doormat in preparation for actually washing it Today I need to do practical stuff like fix a lap-table which DS fell over onto, and wash the floor that the builders have been traipsing all over, and maybe sew a new duvet case like I've been saying I would for ages. And glue together a handle that snapped. If I can get two of those things done, I'll feel I've had a productive day. And also monitor my emails for work. Oh!!! And I have to log in to BoringOfficeJob despite being on holiday, because I accidentally scheduled a social Teams catch up with friends. oops!

Spent far too long grappling with some downloads earlier so I will not be finishing early today Keeping fingers crossed that work stays quiet all afternoon so I can get finished today & not have to do anything over the weekend - I have Tuesday off, so a 4 day weekend for me - yay

Wildlife update - bullfinch on the feeder today, first I've seen for months.

I'm just old enough to have gone through this all before letus - we all moan before & during the change and then once we know what we're doing, prefer the new to the old

He was main suspect Fancy, so mucho FAF - or as much as anyone gets without being one of the regular characters. Am jealous of your bullfinch - we've seen one here about twice in 10 years. Fingers crossed that you do manage to finish early, so you can grapple with some HBFs

I have managed to wash floors and started to mend the handle - plus done a load of laundry that wasn't even on the list - bonus! Ought to look at fixing that table too...

it was nice to see a bullfinch alive & well - I'm still traumatised by the time I rescued one from FancyCat or ScaredyCat only for a magpie to swoop down before the poor little thing managed to recover and fly off

I really need to get my garden birds book out so I can see what we might get in our garden, other than robin because even I know what one of those looks like.

No bath tonight but tomorrow is car collection, jigsaw and bath. There’ll no doubt be some washing.

Hurrah for weekends. I did wash the floor (twice) and covered the garden tool in glue, so I was productive.

Oh - we've had a really pleasant weather today Apricot - I've been out on the garden all day wrecking my back doing 'spring' jobs.

It's bee a year or so since I wore and work clothes - I probably won't recognise lots of my clothes either - Bit of a bonus really, when I do get stuff out it'll be like having new clothes all over again
