Welcome one and all to thread 168. We're still going though because, (like the HBFs) we have stamina Grin and an unending supply of double-entendres and HBFs

Hope you managed to get a walk in Helen and that you’re managing to keep warm,

I’m sure Aramis can find a way to warm your hands Fancy.

I have jigsawed and done a few other bits and pieces. I’ve had a lovely bath and am not planning to do much else tonight other than HBFs in the hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/02/2021 20:45

Evening all.

Yes please-and-thank-you to Strike's coat - all the better if he's in it Grin

I have had a day of domesticity. Whoop Hmm. I have hoovered and I washed floors, chair seats and bedding. And have the HBFs been beating down my door to reward all my hard work? No. No they haven't.

Still, DH and I had a bloody cold nice walk and saw lots of birds and bumped into a friend too, which was fun.

I think that's a great plan LetUs. I might make plans to do something similar.

Morning wenches

Who’s left Strike’s coat on the floor of the hayloft? Sorry Helen. As you both wereBlushGrin

Ironing and jigsawing today. Shall also try to get DS2 out for a walk before it rains.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/02/2021 09:34

Grin LetUs You're up early for a Sunday. So am I, but that was so I could wash carpets while Stupid Cat (and everyone else) was upstairs.

DH has now appeared, has taken one look at the cricket and is debating going back to bed again Grin He has moved over to the tennis. Aces are all very well, but it doesn't make for an entertaining match if you're neutral.

It is officially not as bloody cold as it was - the chicken's water (in the coop) wasn't frozen over this morning - Hurrah (one less job to do). Even the bird bath had a thin layer of water over the ice, so it can't be actually freeing any more. Just feels like it still.

I have no plans to do anything today (other than HBFs obvs.)

Morning
Still feeling pretty cold here. Need to crack on with jobs before FancyMan arrives, but have to add one more - deal with the cause of a puddle of water from the dishwasher that greeted me this morning. Must crack on.......

ApricotCrush · 14/02/2021 16:37

Afternoon. The weather app ways it's a bit warmer but I haven't been out to check. It's raining now.

I've spent most of the day wrapping some old china I sold on eBay. It's been on there for ages and I never expected it to sell so hadn't sorted out a box and bubble wrap and stuff so had to go searching. One thing leads to another and I spent ages tidying cupboards out. Hmm

Hope Fancy managed to sort out the dishwasher.

LetUsPrey · 14/02/2021 17:02

Afternoon wenches.

I was still in bed when I posted this morning Helen Grin

Hope you’ve got the dishwasher sorted Fancy

I know what you mean about looking for something in a cupboard Apricot and then ending up doing loads more.

Went for a walk with DS2 which was bloody freezing in the wind but quite pleasant when we were out of the wind.

I’ve done a bit more of the jigsaw and watched some tv. Ironing can wait until tomorrow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/02/2021 21:36

Evening. It's started raining here this evening, but still feels bloody cold (2 degrees according to the car).

It must have been a wench organisation day - I went looking in my email for a recipe and ended up having an email filing and deleting session. Less than 350 unread emails in my inbox now! Blush

Hope that Fancy's puddle is resolved...

Morning wenches.

Half term so DS2 is of course up nice and early. DH is off with him all week so it’ll be good for them both to get a chance to relax.

Not sure if it’s raining or not as I’ve not opened the curtains yet. I’ll get up in a few minutes.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/02/2021 09:41

Morning all. It's mizzling here, or possibly actually drizzling. But no wind, so that's good.

The builders turned up with a trailer and two vans today Shock They have played Wheelie Tetris and seem to have fitted them on the drive (just as well I put DH's car elsewhere last night though!)

I'm hoping that Fancy was busy with FancyMan yesterday, and the silence (of less than 24 hours Grin ) isn't because she's drowned in the dishwasher flood Grin

Is wicked in recovery from her wild party weekend?

Oh - Apricot - thanks for the link. I watched Blood Sugar.... Hmm It was a bit odd. As if it's a scene from something longer. I was hoping for a complete short story tbh. Oh well.

ApricotCrush · 15/02/2021 16:44

Afternoon. A bit warmer here, but still rather miserable.

Event of the month! I went to Lidl this morning! Shock I had a £5 voucher and didn't want to waste it so I thought I'd rush round, grab as much as I could and be out in 15 minutes. Unfortunately they'd changed everything round so I couldn't find a thing. I hate it when they do that. Angry

Blood Sugar is a bit strange Helen, but many of his short films are. Confused

FancyFancy · 15/02/2021 18:37

Evening

Have indeed been spending the day with FancyMan. Went out for a walk, nice that it was warmer but oh dear god the MUD!

Puddle was of clean, cold water - think there must be a leak in the inlet valve. Temporary fix applied of turning off the water going in unless the dishwasher is actually being used. May google whether that's possible to fix myself.

LetUsPrey · 15/02/2021 19:34

Evening wenches.

Felt so much warmer during the day today!

That does sound promising re the builders Helen.

I quite like Lidl but don’t go that often. Our local one isn’t on any of my usual routes but I do love their croissants and apple turnovers. Perhaps as well I don’t go that often! But yes, stop moving stuff round.

I’m impressed with your wench DIY skills Fancy.

Dental hygienist after work so that was exciting.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/02/2021 19:54

Ah yes, the inlet valve, that’s usually the problem nods wisely

Blob started a week early, that’s great Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/02/2021 20:46

Evening.

I hate it when supermarkets reorganise their shelves. Angry I just end up walking about in frustrated bemusement.

And yes Fancy mud. It's heading back to the sodding Somme again round here. The road is vanishing beneath mud.

LetUsPrey · 16/02/2021 07:59

Morning wenches.

Raining here but much warmer. Weird non-HBF dreams and I’ve got massive dark circles under my eyes. Also I have the ironing to do tonight which serves me right for not doing it on Sunday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/02/2021 08:59

Morning. For my anti-mud device, I shall choose a HBF to carry me everywhere. If he slips over in the mud I can just land on top of him. Sorted. Grin

No rain here, just dull/overcast meh-ness. And I'm cold. And my leg hurts because I walked into an open drawer yesterday which has produced a technicolour bruise in shades of red fading to purple. It's on my thigh. I shall require HBF attention to kiss it better. And the surrounding area too, just to be sure.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 16/02/2021 16:33

Afternoon. Rain again here.

Gosh WW that does seem to come around quickly, even if it's early. Hmm

LetUs, hope you have a better night tonight.

Ouch Helen, hope the HBFs are looking after you.

Morning wenches.

Was knackered yesterday. That’s exactly what I meant by anti-mud device Helen Grin Hope your leg’s not too sore.

We had lots of rain too.

Anyway short day today and day off tomorrow woohoooo!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/02/2021 08:57

Morning, Leg is sore and purple/blue now. The other one aches too, I think I must have pulled a muscle.

Builders are early this morning, and busy working away. I have a day off and was going to try for a lie-in after breakfast, but I don't think it's very likely I'll drift off to the soothing tones of a drill, Virgin Radio, and general builders chat.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 17/02/2021 16:35

Afternoon. First garden bin day of the year, so much weeding, hedge cutting (DH) and general getting up of leaves etc. because we don't want to waste a collection. Hmm

Oh dear Helen, why are builders so noisy? Angry

Yay for day off LetUs.

LetUsPrey · 17/02/2021 18:53

Evening wenches.

see what I did there eh? Eh Grin

Good to get out in the garden though Apricot. Grin at not wanting to waste a bin day.

We’ve had pancakes tonight instead of yesterday. They were okay.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/02/2021 19:10

Mmm pancakes Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/02/2021 20:28

LOL LetUs Grin

I did no gardening today, but there was unscheduled working, and online blethering with a friend, which was nice.

To be fair to the builders, it's a bit hard to be quiet with a drill Apricot. They finished today - we just need to get a plasterer in now.

Pancakes happened yesterday lunchtime - oink! DS had two, DH had one, and I troughed the rest. Felt a bit stuffed tbh, but I love pancakes.

That's my thoroughly unexciting report for the day.
