Good afternoon, Clunkers!

Welcome to the Breakfast Club where the kettle is permanently on, the drinks flow and the snacks are both self-replenishing and calorie-free.

We start each day with a look at history and a tribute to a brave or inspiring woman. Mostly though, we just chat randomly about current affairs, recipes, life in lockdown, literature, music and anything else that comes into our heads.

Veteran Clunkers welcome. Anyone else who wants to join in the chat - sense of humour essential! - welcome.

That is weird, they weren’t like that, they suddenly changed before my very eyes.

It's gone again hasn't it. People won't be bothered with it if it carries on in this vein, sadly, I know I won't.

Wouldnt be so bad if MN had a dark mode too. So much eye pain from a blaring white screen.

I am sad and shocked that they didn't even respond to the requests to keep it up while we regrouped. If people were complaining too much I would have thought a warning that it would go if the moaning didn't stop would have been appropriate?

Oh it has gone, such a shame, admin should have spoken out earlier about how she was feeling and that she was feeling the way she was about the site. ☹️

Thank you, Plussize! Yesterday's Woman of the Day was Emmeline Pankhurst and today's was Emily Wilding Davison. We've also featured Barbara Castle and Betty Boothroyd in the last week and before that, Minnijean Brown (one of the Little Rock Nine), but - be warned! - we go right across the political spectrum and find our WOTD from anywhere. They just have to be brave or inspiring or both. That means some are controversial figures.

Neacy, I had to add an extra 'e'. Could you be Nellie? Or Nelly123? And yes, BakedCam is on here. She is still going on about Yawkshire.

I emailed to say thanks, and that people could help if wished, but evidently, no dice.

The number of people using it was going down so it was looking like it would die out but I was going to let it run for a few more months with one unobtrusive advert per page to hopefully stop me from spending so much of my own money running it. But the complaints and their tone over that is the final straw makes me think it's not something I really want the hassle of keeping running.
