Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF.
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Had the weirdest dream where I was trying to book a train ticket and at the same time my teeth started falling out And my ticket purchase didn't go through because the system somehow figured out that fixing my teeth would cost too much so I wouldn't be able to afford a train ticket. I mean WTF

Went for a walk this afternoon. Ended up doing 4.25 miles. Then did a few errands with DH and DS2.

FFS at LetUsWork. Does NiceColleague have any idea what's going on? Well done on the walk though. I had a rather small bike ride - only 2.5 miles. Still, better than nothing I suppose.

In toothy news, I think I need to refill the filling again [eye roll] FFS etc.

Not heard from NiceColleague for over a week now and those texts were fairly stilted so I’ve left it. I might email work on Monday afternoon if they don’t contact me in the morning.

Is the tooth still pain free? Homemade blackcurrant ice cream sounds delicious.

Don’t really feel like doing much today.

Looked at the house and got a good connection with the owner so I think I have a good chance of getting it if I want to. But the thing is it's really close to two other houses with screaming children and apparently the have parties now and then so I think I'm out.

That would be a no from me also. Given we have screaming children on one side (when it’s nice weather and they’re outside), and loud music on the other side (all year) with a fondness for being loudly sociable in nice weather, I’d say you’re making the right decision. For goodness sake, what’s wrong with children playing on screens inside and people being unsociable

Have been out for a walk. Timed it well as it was just a bit drizzly when I was out, but now it’s chucking it down.

I’ve been watching some 2012 Olympic coverage. Getting a bit emotional at some of it.

Did some tidying up and sorting out —whilst DH also cleaned and was Very Busy complete with sighing a full rundown of what he was doing—. Mustn’t complain though as he’s making ribs for dinner. Went through various gift cards that have been hanging about for DS2. Underneath the gift cards were some cards in envelopes. Turns out these have been loitering there since Christmas and had his Christmas money in them. Bonus.

Have been in the garden most of the afternoon. Planted new plants, repurposed some weeds including a self seeded shrub that was embarrassingly large

Evening. I was up far too late last night watching the Olympic ceremony, which was lovely to watch again, but also depressing when you compare all that hope and celebration with the state we're in now.

Got up this morning and did the chores, and then went back to bed - woke up with a cat on my legs at 11:45 The problem with such a wonderfully long lie-in is that then I've been a blue-arsed fly all day doing stuff. Garden stuff, washing stuff, shopping stuff, etc etc...

Good to hear the MrLetUs is pulling his weight - if being very vocal. Mmmm.... Ribs Definite bonus re. the gift cards and money.

What a shame about the house Wicked - these people who have children and socialise. Pffft.

Was watching an Escape to the Country and there was a lovely house but it was in a sort of purpose built community in a quite compact area. I sat watching it thinking “no, just no”. God I’m an anti-social so and so.

at your tooth Helen. What’s the situation with dentists and treatments that involve drilling?

I’m watching Mumford and Sons at Glastonbury. Going to try and watch some NT Live Salieri tomorrow.

helen - any indication of when your dentist will be open?

Honestly, the health issues that will be stacking up don't bear thinking about. I had no issues getting a smear test booked in fortunately but ScarefyCat has to wait nearly 6 weeks for her boosters, and I only got that appointment because any later and she'd need the full initial set rather than a booster.

Dentist is open for phone consultations, drugs, and tooth extractions They say that they have PPE but that NHS guidelines are 'no fillings' because of the aerosol they use to blast stuff out of the way. Local private dentist is doing fillings, but not for new patients because they have enough of a backlog with their own I am on a list at my dentist of PeopleWhoNeedToBeSeen

Vets are also being super cautious - "If one of us gets it the whole surgery will have to shut". We weren't allowed into the surgery yesterday, but once they got a drip into DeceasedDog, they brought him back out and pushed the drugs into him while he lay in the boot of the car, so we could be with him without being in the surgery.
