Swagger Inn thread 165 - wenches get --locked-- down with the HBFs (ylt)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 11:33

Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

I knew what you meant. Unless it's a terrifying jigsaw of '1,000 antique world maps'. [horror]

I'm tired and should really get off the internet and head for an early night.

You can tell Athos, should you have chance for conversation, I’m watching one of his “colleagues”. Strike The Cuckoo’s Calling is on.

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2020 09:21

Morning wenches.

Got another roof person coming round today to do a quote. Others have either not turned up or we’re still waiting to hear after weeks. I think we’ve had one formal quote through.

General tidying to do, must finish Deep Blue Sea.

FancyFancy · 15/07/2020 09:40

Morning

Fingers crossed they actually turn up letus
Working at home again today - only 7 more working days until a week off. Can't wait, although with only limited places to go there's less to look forward to than normal.

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2020 14:00

Roofing chap turned up when he said he would. Seemed nice, explained things clearly so that’s all promising.

I’ve watched Deep Blue Sea.which was excellent. Helen McCrory was outstanding, the actor playing Mr Miller was super, and TB was fantastic. In fact, everyone was very good but those three in particular stood out for me. And I did smile to myself at the parts where some wenches would have got a little bit hot under the collar Grin

Rain seems to have stopped so I think I shall go out for a walk.

ApricotCrush · 15/07/2020 18:49

Evening wenches. Weather's not too good here, but it's as expected and it's nice to have a change of scenery. Smile

We did our usual trip to Poundland this morning to stock up on stuff.

We're now watching football, no escape. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2020 18:53

Nice to have a change of scenery Apricot. Not great weather here either.

I’m watching final part of The Cuckoo’s Calling. I’m still very cross with how much of a controlling shit Matthew is.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/07/2020 18:59

Evening.

Still a bit confused about having a vacation. Will probably coming to terms with it when I'm starting work again.
Tried to put up a curtain pole on my balcony today, the height is about 3 m and I'm afraid of heights so didn't go so well. I've bought some screen thingies instead that you put on the floor.
I planned my vacation around my blob which of course is late so I'm a bit annoyed about that Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/07/2020 19:01

Hope you have a great time at the caravan Apes Wine

Yeah, Matthew is a total wanker Letus Angry

LetUsPrey · 15/07/2020 20:41

Ah yes, the ability of blob to stuff things up.

Screens sound very fancy

Isn’t he though? And as we know, he’s an even bigger shit than we thought at first.

We’ve got football on. Again.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2020 21:24

Evening all.

Matthew is a pathetic wanker and we have football on too. Also, the weather is persistently miserable here. I think it was dry this morning, but has been raining on and off since lunchtime. Hurrah for roofers who turn up and seem nice though. And for floor-standing screens.

Slightly bonkers busy day - got up later than planned, ate breakfast while working, work was absolutely manic and I didn't get done half of what I had on my list. Then once I signed out I was straight into cooking tea and watching a film with DS.
Gosh.

DH and DS are doing a jigsaw now. I went to help and was told I was in the light, so I get to mooch online (and play with the jigsaw once DS is in bed).

Glad you enjoyed DBS LetUs. I have to say you see a lot more groping on the filmed version than you could see at the theatre Shock Grin

I know what you mean about holidays Fancy - my manager was reminding today me that I need to book time off which is all well and good, but also 'meh' because it's not like we'll be going anywhere Sad Just trying to find ways to keep DS from spending every hour on his xbox/switch/phone without him stropping unbearably Sad

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 15/07/2020 22:26

That sounds like a proper busy day Helen. Sad

I’ve been jigsawing too and now I’m watching part one of The Silkworm.

I have leave to book too but it seems a bit wrong to do that when I’ve been on furlough. I think we can carry some over (usually can’t —unless you’re special—) but I’ll still have quite a bit left.

No suggestions for MiniHelen because DS2 would be the same. Crap innit?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/07/2020 23:09

We're catching up on the bits of the Live Aid documentary that we missed. I really ought to get to bed though.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 16/07/2020 09:19

Morning wenches.

DS2 had a lie in until 8.45!

I should really get dressed and do the exercisething. Or I could stay not dressed and do the HBF thing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2020 09:19

Morning.

Staying up late was a masoohive mistake - I spelt (or slept, even) really badly and am utterly trashed today Sad

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2020 10:18

LetUs - I vote for the stay not dressed and do the HBF thing

Haven't done any bike rides for a few days now, so really must today. (Yesterday was raining and also the whole 'didn't stop all day' thing)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 16/07/2020 11:03

Helen if you’d done a bike ride yesterday, I’d have been asking you to share your time machine because that’s the only way you’d have fitted everything in

Have done exercisething and it was rubbish. It’s like my knees and calves were saying “what are you doing woman, stop this at once”. So now I’m going to do the have a shower and hope that HBFs pitch up thing.

Then I have to brave going to a shop with DS2.

FancyFancy · 16/07/2020 13:51

Am in the office - nice to see people even if it is a little quiet.

Holidays are a conundrum this year - I think many places are allowing more carry forward in theory but aren't keen in practice as they could end up with loads of employees on holiday at once for aaages. Tricky. Hence my holiday. I do have plenty to do in the garden though so I will be busy!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 16/07/2020 17:49

No blob yet, don't know WTF is going on Hmm
Going to see a house on Saturday, a rental, it's a bit big for me but the rent is good, a lot of people have applied so we'll see. Mostly concerned about the hassle to have to sell my apartment Confused

LetUsPrey · 16/07/2020 19:31

I’m always impressed by people who can make their gardens look beautiful

Good luck for Saturday Wicked! Hopefully blob will turn up soon so that can be over and done with.

I’ve realised from watching Career of Evil today that I never actually saw the second part. No idea why. Hating Matthew even more.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2020 21:26

Evening.

Holiday conundrum.. I could start by talking off the last Friday of every month. That would be hard to remember nice. I did that last year when I didn't use up my holiday, and forgot, so I was half way to work before I remembered I wasn't meant to be there Hmm Idiot me, though it was nice waltzing back into the house. Grin

Have had to had Dad's dog put down today Sad lovely dog, very old, started falling over, not able to get up again, walking in circles etc. Sad

Other people's gardens always look better than mine because when I look at mine I just see all the things that need doing. And sadly, those 'things' don't include HBFs lurking in the shrubbery Grin

Why do you want to move again Wicked?

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 16/07/2020 21:55

I want to live on the countryside Helen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/07/2020 22:35

Fairy snuff Smile

I am NOT having another late night.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 16/07/2020 22:51

I bet that was a good feeling, being able to turn round and head back home.

Sad at your dad’s dog Helen. for all the family.

Is where you’re looking at far from where you are now Wicked?

I have done more of my jigsaw whilst listening to a podcast about jigsaws.

I am also not having a late night, which obviously explains why I’ve settled down with a Brew and an episode of Hotel Secrets.

LetUsPrey · 17/07/2020 09:33

Morning wenches.

Friday Friday Friday. Hoping to hear from work today to say whether they need me back. It’s caused some tension with a colleague (obviously not my decision to not go back previously but )

A few errands to run today and hoping to go for a walk.
