Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Blimey that's organised! Earlier in lockdown, when DD had gone very nocturnal, she emerged from her bed one afternoon and announced she'd already done her work for the day. When I asked how the hell she'd managed that as she'd only been awake 5 minutes, she explained that as it had been released at midnight, she'd done it all before going to bed Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/07/2020 10:01

Morning all.

Shock LetUs - it makes you wonder what they're up to when they do that sort of thing, doesn't it? DS was complaining about me nagging him to get stuff done, and said he would do it at the weekend. I reminded him twice on Sunday about the work he said he'd do. No prizes for guessing the outcome - he didn't do it and denies all knowledge of saying that he would Angry
He also refused to come for a bike ride yesterday and said he'd go today instead. Bonus for me then - I'm not having a bike ride today because I am meeting a friend to do exercise so DH can deal with him grumbling and complaining his way round the usual route.

God knows how we're going to get through the summer holidays without killing each other. Though I may be more pessimistic than usual since he didn't sleep well last night and thus, neither did I.

I like the way FancyDD thinks Grin

I suspect this morning was a fluke as far as DS2 is concerned, although it’s the final week so perhaps he’s putting on a final sprint.

Am hoping I get a call to say I’m back at work next week - I know, who’d have thought it? - because otherwise I suspect it’ll be similar with me Helen.

Hope the day stays nice for you and you enjoy your exercise with your friend.

I’m at our local country park watching the ducks and swans. It’s started drizzling but I’ve found a bench under a tree.

ApricotCrush · 13/07/2020 17:12

Afternoon. Went to Sainsbury's this morning in sunshine but when I got there it threw it down, so I got soaked getting the trolley.

That sounds like a lovely day Fancy.

Well done to MiniLetUs for surprisingly completing his schoolwork. Star

Hope Helen's having a nice afternoon with her friend and WW's having a relaxing holiday.

We're going to the caravan tomorrow for a few days. We don't intend to eat out or fraternise with any of the neighbours so it should be alright. The weather doesn't look too good, but a change of routine is welcome, every day is the same here. Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/07/2020 17:44

I am waiting for friend to arrive. This is normal - particularly since our levels of organisation didn't stretch to a precise pick-up time. It appears to be starting to rain. Oh dear. Still, don't care - I'm going to be getting out the house and having fun. When she gets here.

Have a lovely time at the caravan Apricot Change of routine is def. good.

Also, I watched Deep Blue Sea today - well ahead of it dropping off YouTube! I think that's the earliest I've managed to watch any of them so far, though it helps that it's only 2 hours.

Pity it wasn’t this downpour Apricot. He’d have been jolly useful at the queues. Hope the weather’s decent for you.

Have a fantastic evening Helen. I completely forgot about Deep Blue Sea. What a numpty. I shall put a reminder in my phone to watch it/start watching it tomorrow.

I’ve watched the Arthur Ashe documentary today, and am almost finished with the Martina Navratilova one. Both very moving and interesting.

We’ve had the football on. It didn’t finish well and DS2 has had a sound telling off for his language. Not happy with an outburst from DS1 either. I am so fucking sick of this. They all support the same bloody team but there’s constant arguing and bickering and niggling at each other (mostly the DC) almost throughout the whole sodding match. I used to quite enjoy watching a match but I’m coming to hate it.

So after quite a pleasant day everyone’s cross and fed up with each other. Excellent.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/07/2020 23:04

FFS at miniLetUses. Wasn't life so much nicer in lockdown when there was no football? Can you just turn it off if they can't behave? Then they can be united in their hatred of you Hmm Sad (And I guess that would involve MrLetUs as well.)

We're having real trouble with DS sleeping at the moment - he's going through a phase of not being able to get to sleep, and refusing to try suggestions like doing more exercise and having less screen time. Obviously, we're the parents and should just enforce the screen time thing, but it would help if he just agreed to try out some of the suggestions instead of huffing and puffing and complaining that he can't get to sleep...

Am going to bed myself now. DS is still awake... FFS.

Thanks Wicked. I like how it’s a big glass —in my head it is—

I flipping loved no football. At least they were only talking about football, but even that’s been ramped up too. I’m fucked off with having a conversation with one of them and then one of the others comes in and starts yapping on about team news or something. I’ve started just walking away.

I recall DS2 going through a similar thing re sleep Helen, to the point where he didn’t want to go to bed because “what if I can’t sleep?” and getting quite worried about it. I’ll have a think if we did anything specific to help him, although yes, it’s helpful if they actually listen to your suggestions.

I’m watching the French Riviera episode of Richard E Grant’s Hotel Secrets. Just looking at one of the cliff top cabanas that belong to the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. One can dream.

LetUsPrey · 14/07/2020 08:45

Morning wenches.

DS2 came in to my room at about 6.30 (DH already left for work) asking if he was still banned from his iPad all day. Yes he is. Cue rant, slamming doors, stomping about, and much muttering which I could hear even when he was downstairs. Kept that going for a good 40 minutes. He’s calmed down now but what a top start to the day.

Exercisething this morning.

Safe travels Apricot and 🤞🏻for good weather.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2020 09:00

Morning.

and Wine Gin etc LetUs - you'll be having a delightful day with DS then? Sad Good luck with the exercise. I am slightly achey but am otherwise fine this morning, which surprised me initially, but then I thought about it and realised that today will be mostly ok, it's tomorrow that everything with seize up Confused

I need to make masks today, because having cut out the material, they won't then magically make themselves.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 14/07/2020 09:17

I feel all I do is complain about DS2’s behaviour. Whingy whinge whinge. That’s me.

Even though you’re not particularly achey today Helen, it might be best to have a rub down just in case. He looks happy about being of assistance.

Good luck with the masks. I suppose we’d better get a few more.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2020 09:42

God yes - that's me. Nag, nag, nag. But when I try doing the 'gentle reminder' approach, he just postpones and forgets to do anything. He just stropped off and slammed a door because I told him clean his teeth NOW, and not in the next hour or so. FFS

Anyway - important stuff. Yes - absolutely. I'd best have a rub down just in case. I don't want to stiffen up, after all (said no HBF, ever). Grin

What time have you scheduled for Deep Blue Sea? (nag, nag, nag, etc...!)

FancyFancy · 14/07/2020 09:58

Morning
Working at home today as DD needs a lift to school.

Have a lovely time at the caravan apricot, the change of scene must be very welcome!

How about locking stroppy young teens in the dungeon with each other - a few hours of experiencing being at the other end of incessant whingeing may be insightful for them Grin

@ helen claiming that the reason she's managed to fit in DBS is because it's only 2 hours No other reason. Oh no Grin

LetUsPrey · 14/07/2020 09:59

DBS is scheduled for lunch time I think. Exercise now, then shower, then nag DS1 —pointlessly—, then lunch and DBS.

I shall think about stiffening up whilst I’m out.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2020 11:41

It helps fancy - obvs that's not the only reason Grin the lack of freelance work also helps too. Confused

Excellent idea Fancy, and as we’ve established no wifi or 4G in the dungeon so that’ll learn ‘em Grin

I’ve started DBS - I’ll be thinking of wenches

I’ll be interrupted though to continue DS1’s laundry education. We’ve done sorting, assessing whether there’s a full load, putting the pod in, loading up and setting it going. Next module is pegging it out. If he doesn’t get into university in NearbyBigCity, he’ll be living away and will need to know this stuff Grin

LetUsPrey · 14/07/2020 16:08

I got about 25 minutes into DBS and then DH came home so I’ll carry on watching tomorrow. Loving it so far.

I’ve put Dempsey and Makeopeace on. I used to love watching this Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/07/2020 20:43

Helen McCrory is utterly brilliant in it.

I have made two masks... I will make more later. They're a bit faffy, but I think I've got the hang of them now.

How did laundry lessons go?

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 14/07/2020 21:18

I do love Helen McCrory. I really like the set.

Laundry lesson went quite well. He actually came downstairs to empty the machine more or less as it finished. It had actually gone quite a bit cooler so I suggested he put the two larger items on the line and put the rest inside. Line and prop were already out. He emptied the line and then put the two things on one side of the prop. Made me laugh any way. Grin

I’m doing a jigsaw.
