marmitemad · 06/09/2007 22:12

I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 07/01/2008 13:29

No day on the Zappata thread could be considered truly wasted!!!

Weirdly here DP and I are going through a weird phase of shagging like teenagers
8 nights in a row...

Egg · 07/01/2008 13:51

!!!!!!!!

I don't think DH and I have ever done that. EVER.

On holiday when we conceived DS it was at least every other day / night, and sometimes more, but not EIGHT NIGHTS IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear all is well in the Fred household on that front!

DH and I have not done the deed since early October .

Dropdeadfred · 07/01/2008 14:23

To be honest I can't remember when we did before this time..trouble is no DP thinks because he's had it 'every day this year!!!' he thinks it should be the same all the time!!

Thing is...I could go with that the way things are at the mo...

Guess wedding plans can make you all romantic

Anyay enough of me being crass talking about boffing all the time!!

EGG you have more than enough reason to be off boffing for LIFE!!!
Hope the double yolkers are behaving!

fryalot · 07/01/2008 14:41

well, I haven't boffed yet this year either

but hey, well done fred!

Dropdeadfred · 07/01/2008 14:59

Ooohhh Squonk...best get a move on!!! I want you and I to be expecting our no.4's together well I'll give you a few months leeway just so I can still fit in my dress !!!
Why am I talking about 'still fit' I can't even fit yet!!! (and I'm still stuffing my face with Christmas chocs)

Egg · 07/01/2008 15:03

Fred, on that note, just wanted to say I haven't forgotten your little one you lost last May, I know that Jan was when you would have been due, and have been thinking of you. I know it was not your first MC but it was the first since I "knew" you and I don't want you to think we have forgotten your loss.

On a happier note, if you AND Squonk were expecting at the same time, that would be SO exciting. Squonk will be having triplets don't forget, so maybe you will have QUADS, and Marmite said she was feeling VERY broody lately, so you could all go for it (seem to recall marmite needs to come off the drugs first though).

fryalot · 07/01/2008 15:04

If I were to find myself pg with triplets, added to the three I already have, I suspect I would need some drugs

fred - what egg said

Dropdeadfred · 07/01/2008 15:24

Thanks Girls [Hugs all round]

My due day was yesterday...
I'm thinking perhaps this is another reason why DP is showing affection in the way he knows best
As well as taking me out for luch and letting me pick £50 worth of new clothes for dd3 yesterday ( and he has still given me £150 to buy a coat, but to be honest I could buy 2 or 3 for that so keep dithering)

Egg · 07/01/2008 15:42

Yesterday . Sorry I have been meaning to say something since end of Dec, and was going to mail you instead of putting it on here, and then it just came out...

Glad DP (or in fact DF!) is treating you so well. DH never gives me any money! But I get the rent from our London house paid into my account so I actually get more now than I used to when I worked.

Only an hour til I collect DS. I have managed about 3 things on my TO DO list today.

Dropdeadfred · 07/01/2008 18:03

Thanks for thinking of me - I'm okay really!
I thought for a few moments about what would/should/could have been, but I do have an awful lot to be happy about too right no so I thought more thoughts aout that and felt better.

Hopefully it will be the icing on the cake if and hen we get blessed with no.4.

marmitemad · 08/01/2008 08:59

morning girls,
busy day at work yesterday and then we were out til 9pm for nephews 6th birthday. went straight to bed when we got home as I still feel ill .

dd pretty grotty this morning but we had a fairly good night with her waking about 4 times but settling easily and no medicine for the first time in 3 weeks .

Fred - sorry to hear about your lost bean and hope you are feeling ok. I bought my sil a rose bush to plant on her due date in august last year and I know that helped her a lot.

random question here : would you recommend geting a spare set of covers for a car seat or is it a waste of money?

OP posts:
fryalot · 08/01/2008 09:11

morning

to answer marmite's question:

It depends on how often you use the car seat. If you use it every day, it is probably worth getting a spare set of covers then you never have to worry about accidents, sickness, etc. If you use it less often then you would probably have time to wash the one set of covers and not bother with a second set.

If you are worrying about nappy leaks, you can get a waterproof cushion thing that goes underneath their bum and I bought a couple of those which were absolutely invaluable when I started potty training dd2 (and I must buy another one when I start seriously with ds)

hope everyone is ok this morning and that egg is feeling human, and that egg's bowels are feeling bowel-like

Egg · 08/01/2008 09:31

Morning! Feeling okish today, better than yesterday morning and DS slept like a log last night which helped. Didnt get up til after 8 .

Marmite, last year DS threw up ALL OVER the car on a trip to see a friend, I was two hours from home and had to do my best to clean it up before returning home a few hours later, but to be honest even if I had got an extra set of covers I wouldn't have put them on as I didn't have the time or inclination to clean the puke out of the holes in the actual seat as well. Gave it a thorough scrub the following day and put the covers in the washing machine.

I was 5 weeks pregnant at the time and THANK GOD the sickness had not set in!

DS is bouncing on the sofa dancing to "If you're happy and you know it". So cute.

Back later, better stop him leaping off headfirst.

Dropdeadfred · 08/01/2008 10:03

Morning all!!

I am either very lucky or very lazy as I have NEVER changed the car seat covers since dd3 was born in either car seat!!

Mind you dd3 has been sick a totall of 5 times in her entire life (including as a newborn!!!)

Not one mouthful of milk ever came up!

fryalot · 08/01/2008 10:06

I could send you some if you like....

Egg · 08/01/2008 10:52

DS used to be sick without fail at least twice a day when he was small. He is rarely sick now, until recently when he has been sick about five times in last 6 weeks or so. He was the world's biggest puker.

marmitemad · 08/01/2008 11:53

thanks for the opinions, we have just got dd's stage 1 car seat (very exciting as she is now facing outwards) and the covers are hand wash only (all the ones we looked at were). we generally go out in the car every day so I reckon for £25 on ebay its worth getting a spare set of pink happy flower covers as we only have black atm .

she's only been sick once in the old car seat and I managed to clean it up without removing the cover but it was truly horrendous.

am eating my lunch early as off to the dentist at 12:15 for a filling .

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 08/01/2008 13:21

Hope the dentist is nice and gentle Marmite.

Oi Egg...when you having those babies? eh?

Egg · 08/01/2008 14:21

Marmite I think they all (or nearly all) say handwash only. Ours were so horrendous that i had to put them in the wash and they survived. In fact I even started a thread on here asking if anyone else had machine washed theirs before i went ahead and lots had.

What seat did you get [nosy emoticon]. DS has the maxi cosi priorifix one which is fab (a bugger to get puke out of the holes though). It is the only time he has been sick in the car, other than a tiny bit here and there when little which stayed on him!

Fred - not til the weekend now thanks! Hoping for labour to begin circa 7am on Saturday morning!!!

Dropdeadfred · 08/01/2008 14:54

we have a concorde one which enabled dd3 to be rear-facing til she was 16 months...then lasts til she's 4.

Egg..why the weekend?

Egg · 08/01/2008 15:10

Cos DH is TWO HOURS AWAY and so is my mum. And don't really want middle of night in week either.

7am on Sat morning means I can start getting myself organised, we can take DS with us, having phoned my mum to come down (she doesn't want to drive down at night so it will be getting light by the time we call). If it happens in middle of night my mum still wont want to leave until it is getting light and don't really want to disrupt DS in middle of night. Doula says she is very happy to come over in middle of night and stay with DS, but she has her own family to get ready for school etc in morning so would not be that convenient for her.

If not Sat morning, then 9am on Thursday morning as DS will be at nursery all day so DH can meet me at hospital and my mum would be here in time to get DS from nursery.

Tis very tricky. Much easier with the first!

Am missing Escape to the Country! Missed Doctors AND Neighbours today already.

Where is Squonk? Thought she would very active on here today as everyone would be back at school etc at last!

fryalot · 08/01/2008 15:12

I'm here

Was actually searching for a picture of dd2's car seat to share it with you.

But I can't find it, so there!

Sounds like you have the whole labour, birth thing all sorted and organised. Sod's law says that twill be 2.30 next Monday morning

fryalot · 08/01/2008 15:15

(am also trying to spend lots of time with the littlies so they don't get upset at dp and dd1 not being here after a fortnight of having everyone doting on their every move)

Dropdeadfred · 08/01/2008 15:15

what time did it start with ds Egg?

Hmmmm sex, pineapple chunks and curry (npot neccesarily all together but whatever rocks your world) on Friday night then!!!

Egg · 08/01/2008 15:18

Hmmm, 2:30am is preferable to 6:48am (which is when DH gets on the train to London which is a non-stop service, and so he wont be able to get off for an hour, and will then have to get off, wait for one to come back this way, and sit on it for another hour, and then get to the hospital). Meanwhile, if I am in labour and it is anything like last time, I wont be able to get DS to nursery, and will have no-one to do it for me! I guess I could call them at 8am and beg one of the girls to collect him as they are only 5 mins away, maybe????????

Head hurts, I ate too much chocolate. I was testing to see whether it stayed in!
