I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

OP posts:
Egg · 03/01/2008 12:34

Yes he is self employed. He has already made a £9k payment, but this is the balance of 2007 and some of 2008 or something. It's ridiculous. He has the money as he is very careful and also knew he would get hit, but it is still MUCH BIGGER than he had hoped.

You are 73 miles from me (according to Route Planner). It takes about 1.5 hrs by road. If you like you can come and then take away one or both of the twins for a few years walk!

Dropdeadfred · 03/01/2008 12:40

Oooh less than 2 hrs on the train tho Egg and only have to change at Clapham Junction.

How long will your MIL be staying for when twins are here?

Egg · 03/01/2008 13:45

Hopefully not long. My own (lovely) mum will come as soon as I go into labour, and stay while I am in hospital to look after DS so DH can go back and forth. I resolutely refuse to have MIL here for any length of time to "help" as she is no help and is more of a hindrance and will probably make me kill her within a day or two esp with hormones raging. Doula will be coming for a couple of months but visitors most welcome while she is here as easier all round anyway!

Be nice for your DD3 to cheer up poor lonely DS too!

Dropdeadfred · 03/01/2008 13:48

Ooooh a doula?! How did I miss that? Is she nice?Is she going to be with you in labour room?

Egg · 04/01/2008 17:50

A doula indeed. I sorted it out just after we moved here, so about 4 months ago. She is a post natal doula although has said she is more than happy to be at the birth if a) DH can't make it in time (he is 2 hours away when at work) or b) I end up having a c-section as DH can't face watching that!

She is lovely and I liked her as soon as I spoke to her. DS loves her too, he flirts with her and seems very happy in her company. She will do whatever I like (well, within reason!), ie take DS to the park, watch Nemo and Dory so I can take DS to the park, feed them if I am bottle feeding, get them to bed for naptimes etc and also just generally help me out and make sure I get some rest and have time for a bath etc. Must call her actually!

I saw the consultant yesterday, he thinks it is unlikely I will not have gone into spontaneous labour within two weeks but if not I will be induced at 38 weeks. SO NOT LONG TO GO!!!!!

Hope everyone is well and that Squonk returns soon!

marmitemad · 05/01/2008 18:47

A doula!!!!!!, how exciting, am glad you are going to have some useful support (not from out-laws) when dh is back at work. Hope we can come and visit you as well????

How exciting to actually have the end in sight, when are you 38 weeks? I will cross everything for the 12th for you though . I had a sweep which set things off for me but dd was 10 days overdue.

have been awol as I am feeling really poorly again, bad head, chesty cough and ear ache .
dd has bronchiolitis again and is sleeping really badly so I am very tired and poorly.

Dropdeadfred · 05/01/2008 19:07

Egg, how long will you have the doula for? sounds great, think I still need one!!

Egg · 06/01/2008 19:59

Marmite you poor poor thing, ill again. I must admit I am feeling ill myself. Have had upset stomach since yesterday, and been feeling sick, keep thinking it might be the start of something as braxton hicks are pretty continuous but nothing happening. Just feel generally crappy and can't sleep as feel so rough. Thankfully have had a relaxing day and DS is at nursery all day tomorrow but already dreading Tuesday and Wednesday!

Fred I will have the doula for a couple of months, although she has said she is very flexible so maybe longer, I am calling her tomorrow to find out when her next booking begins, although she still might be able to come one or two days a week even when she has a new lady as her last lady only needed / wanted her twice a week. If I hadn't got her lined up I would be even more worried and terrified!

Fred, just realised YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .

AuldLangSquonk · 07/01/2008 09:41

morning

fryalot · 07/01/2008 09:43

ooh, get me! I still had my new year name on which shows how long it is since I logged on here (seven days )

Egg · 07/01/2008 10:46

You are a woman of very little words considering your LENGTHY absence.

Everything ok? Got rid of DP ok this morning?

Stomach is ridiculously bad. Not wanting to eat anything and nothing is really staying in. Had routine appt with midwife this morning and she was not overly worried about it, but said to get the Duty Doc to call just to check and see what they say. Not being sick thank god.

Keep meaning to say, did you see on the news that two ladies died in my hospital from Strep A after giving birth there on same day (21 Dec). Am not too worried as it means they have stepped up their hygeine even more, and it is likely to be a very unlucky coincidence, but still horrible and very .

fryalot · 07/01/2008 11:00

I think you are right to assume that they have upped their hygiene, and tis probably perfectly safe for you, but even so! When ds was 1 (in fact, on his first birthday iirc) there was a news article about the hospital I had him in, it said that a roof tile had collapsed and hundreds of maggots had fallen onto new mums and babies in the post-natal ward! Maggots!!!! ugh!

Dp off to work, dd1 playing with littlies, had bath, done some cleaning and tidying and I shall stay here until someone screams

Tis 'orrible when you're stomach feels queasy and icky and yucky - you have my sympathy.

Where's everyone else today, or did I miss the bit where they all said they weren't coming here any more?

Egg · 07/01/2008 11:05

Ugh. Maggots . That really is nasty.

Why is DD1 not back at school? Has she packed it in? Inset day? School burned down?

Feeling marginally better at the mo. New digital camera just arrived so am over the moon as can now give birth knowing we will get some pics of newborns!

Marmite is at work today, Fred is probably busy making WEDDING PLANS! It is only 6 months to go! Wooohooooooooooooooo.

fryalot · 07/01/2008 11:09

inset day for both dd1 and dp. but, being a teacher, dp has to go in for his inset days (luckily, he realised this as I had put down that he goes back to work tomorrow on the brand new family calendar!)

Good that you're feeling a bit better, and that the camera arrived, but you will be taking pics on your phone as well, so you can send them to me immediately aren't you?

When I say immediately, I kind of meant within a day or two, not as it's actually happening, btw, I can use my imagination for that bit

Egg · 07/01/2008 11:13

I will hold the phone "down there" and make sure i send you a shot of each head as it appears .

Just realised, a reason to celebrate today. NEIGHBOURS and DOCTORS are back at last!!!!!!!

Just had some chocolate milk. No "movement" yet so maybe things are looking up.

fryalot · 07/01/2008 11:14

neighbours, doctors, and that royal today thingy that I may give a go.

And come dine with me before dinner as well

My life is complete

(god that's sad!)

Egg · 07/01/2008 11:15

I have got Come Dine With Me set to record the whole series on Sky+. I love it. Did you see it last week in Wales with the horrible, miserable, sour faced Annette?

fryalot · 07/01/2008 11:17

yep. She was HORRIBLE. I decided never to stay at a b & b in Wales just in case it's her place.

And the way she kept on about everyone else being mean to her

Egg · 07/01/2008 11:21

Just looking at her face made me shout at the tv. I had taped Friday's one and watched it later on and had to keep saying to DH "don't you just want to SLAP her".

Right, I am logging off now. I am.

fryalot · 07/01/2008 11:22

me too.

definitely.

Egg · 07/01/2008 11:32

Ooops, am going now.

Biscuit has stayed put too .

Dropdeadfred · 07/01/2008 12:42

Aww i missed you both

Hope you're okay Egg and howdy Squonk!!!

fryalot · 07/01/2008 12:55

fred!

so, I suppose that's it, holidays over and everything back to normal
(well, until the double yolkers make an appearance and then things will never be 'normal' again )

Egg · 07/01/2008 13:00

It's been FOUR HOURS since my last bowel movement , I think things are looking up! Stomach is all churny though.

Can't believe it is already 1pm and I only have 4 hours til DS is home. I have wasted the day. Not done anything. Have so many things I still need to sort. Grrr.

Hello Fred how are things with you?

fryalot · 07/01/2008 13:02

hee hee - you'll be after one of them tickers that everyone says you can get on netmums

seriously, glad you're getting a bit better, will keep my fingers crossed that bowels continue to behave themselves.

And I really wouldn't worry about wasting the day - isn't that what we're here for?
