I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

WOWOWOWOWOWWWWWWWWWWWWW your DDs are going to have a good Christmas! Great presents all round. DS would love that train, and in fact the house too. He loves to go into play houses, and is very keen on the play kitchen at ELC.

I suppose I ought to wake DS. He went to sleep about 1:45 I think. He was shattered.

Squonk glad DD had a great time. DS looked a bit overwhelmed when we first went in, but then he soon came into his own. Not sure he would have been happy without me there, as although he wandered off all the time without me, he did keep checking to make sure he could see me. It was a big party though.

that nobody ate the mince pies. The sandwiches were mainly left at DS's party. I ate lots though .

Dropdeadfred · 20/12/2007 16:08

I must admit that every year we go over the top with christmas pressies!!!

The way I see it the toys we have bought dd will give me hours on mumsnether lots of pleasure for years to come hopefully

We have bought loads of books, puzzles and dvds too (for exactly the same reasons as above!!)

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 16:52

wow fred! if ever there was a present perfectly suited to your dd3, your brother found it!

hee hee

am getting ridiculously excited now. I want it to be Christmas TOMORROW

Dropdeadfred · 20/12/2007 17:01

Oooh yes Squonk she will love it...I feel at my bro though..he always really spoils the girls...

Do feel slightly better that he told me it was half price in Argos!!!

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 09:49

how is everyone this fine and frosty morning? We're all ok. Ds has a touch of conjunctivitis but I have cream for that so should be ok, dd2 at nursery this afternoon, dp and dd1 break up this afternoon and dp has left his laptop at home so all is well in the squonk household.

Dropdeadfred · 21/12/2007 11:33

Hurray for Dp leaving his laptop!!!

Did you get my card yet Squonk? Egg? Marmite?

We had a powercut last night for about 40 mins at about midnight. It took out all the streetlights too and tripped about three shop alarms...grrr It really is amaxing how dark it is when there are no lights ata ll outside...

Still, it didn't wake dd3 up as we shuffled around finding candles/torches etc just in case it wasn't back on in the morning...then it came back on anyway..now have to reset microwave clock, video clock, alarm clocks etc etc

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 11:45

postman came about half an hour ago and brought me your card, fred.

marmitemad · 21/12/2007 13:23

afternoon girls,
concert was fab - 48 piece orchestra and a huge model martian thing. got back at 12:30am, put my ear plugs in and got woken up by dh bearing a bacon sarnie at 9am as we had to collect dd at 9:30am. don't be fenvy] of me as I am sooooooooo tired, I think I need to go to bed for a week to properly catch up. dd was pretty good at Mums although Mum said she didn't sleep much as she was listening out just in case .

Fred - the thomas ride on thing looks brilliant, I think the next meet up should be at your house whereabouts do you live? (if you are happy to divulge)

I can't wait until dd is old enough for a play house, she is getting from us a recycled drum, books & puzzles, pyjamas and stocking presents (sounds a bit lacking but I know she will get plenty from everyone else). Outlaws have got her a rocking horse and my parents a wooden push along trolley with alphabet blocks as selected by me. we have also received some sort of noisy plastic push along/ride on fisherprice lion thing from our best friends in menorca.

no more cards here yet, I'm afraid I haven't sent to Squonk and Fred as I don't have your addresses, if I'd been organised enough I would have asked after egg's email last weekend .

sorry for the monster post but there was loads of chat yesterday

Hello lovely ladies. DS has been challening today so it is nice to come on here and feel part of the gang and forget all about him (kind of...).

Our postman never comes til about 2pm, although recently it has been more like 4pm, so will report back then. Did get a nice one from Squonk the other day .

Marmite your evening and in fact night sounds fab. 12:30 to 9am is a great sleep really, longer than I ever get, although I am in bed from about 9pm til 7am! I never get brought a bacon sarnie .

Bitterly cold here. My nose felt like it might drop off when we were out earlier. This afternoon we are going to make gingerbread men, I hope they work or poor DS will be very disappointed. It is the recipe from the Big Cook Little Cook Annual!

We get the odd powercut, and had them at our old place too, about once every few months for a few seconds. Most annoying is the baby monitor (we still use it for DS as he likes the nightlight and I like to keep an eye on the temperature in his room), as it means that unless we go into his room and turn his monitor back on, our one will beep endlessly and then power down completely. And of course as Fred said the resetting of a gazillion clocks.

Am missing Neighbours this week. Don't think it is back until 7 Jan !!!!

Marmite, good plan to all meet at Fred's house, the little ones can take turns on Thomas while we drink tea or gin and you lot can take turns feeding and burping Nemo and Dory (presuming I am not exclusively breastfeeding at that point, in which case that could be tricky...).

Right, off to check my other active convos and then to watch Doctors.

marmitemad · 21/12/2007 13:52

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm large G & Ts all round I think..............................

OP posts:
SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 13:53

so that's settled then, next meet up at fred's house. Do you think her dd3 will mind if me and the littlies camp out in that princess tent?

marmite - so glad the concert was great. Am of you going out, at your bacon buttie and most of all, of your tiredness being something unusual!

marmitemad · 21/12/2007 13:59

the tiredness isn't unusual I think it just is especially bad today (I am thinking about getting the match sticks out), no-one told me before becoming a mum that it would ever be possible to feel so tired and yet have to carry on with normal life.

I am going out again tomorrow night for xmas dinner and dancing with the baby group mums.

I think the princess tent could become a temporary gin camp .

right off to pack bags for swimming now, on a good note we got our Christmas tree today but the thought of decorating it atm just makes me feel even more tired. will have to go to bed extra early tonight but after we've braved tescos .

OP posts:
SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 14:06

egg - was it you that I was discussing Archie and Melody with? if so... I told you they'd get it together!

(if not, ooops)

marmite - I know what you mean, I used to think that it was tiring when I worked during the day, came home, went out again and did a bar job, then afterwards went nightclubbing. I used to get about three hours sleep. Now I just think about all that time I wasted having fun when I could have been in bed!

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 14:11

george and nick?

Dropdeadfred · 21/12/2007 14:17

Yay!! Meet up at Fred's house!!!! Great, can't wait!! When?

BTW who's Fred?

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 14:21

it's ok mate, we'll pick you up on the way

Egg · 21/12/2007 14:25

BLOODY HELL! Squonk I mailed you to see if you were watching. WTF was going on in Doctors today? Melody and Archie is one thing, but George and Nick???????? I saw them looking a bit tender at each other a month or two ago but ARRRGGGHH.

BTW, I missed a few months when Nick got paralysed. I know it was George's fault but what happened?

Marmite I am braving Tesco tomorrow morning, could not face it tonight, mainly because it is a 7 min drive there, but on a normal Friday night it takes about 40 mins as it is the route to the M3 to London / Southampton and everyone seems to be leaving, but tonight when everyone is travelling for Christmas it will be mayhem, and that's not even counting the actual shopping. Plus tomorrow i can go sans DS!

Swimming . I could not face that. We missed the last four swimming lessons as either DS or I were too bloody knackered or ill to go. Making gingerbread is as active as it will get in this house this afternoon.

Egg · 21/12/2007 14:26

Obviously as Fred doesn't live that near to any of us we will all have to stay over as well...

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 14:30

I wasn't really watching it then either, egg... I suspect it may have been when my messenger was working and we were chatting to each other

But I think that george crashed the car which made nick paralysed, so she feels responsible. The reason george crashed was because she was because nick had just told her that he luuuuurved her!

tesco tomorrow? poor you! I will be thinking of you while all my shopping is being delivered

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 14:30

and I've already bagsied the princess tent. You lot will have to find your own accommodation at fred's house

Egg · 21/12/2007 14:33

Ooooooooh, so Nick was in love with her anyway? Blardy hell. The plot thickens.

I never liked Ronnie anyway...

I am sleeping in Fred and Mr Fred's bed (without them), as I need lots of space as my belly will prob stay like this for some time.

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 16:13

egg - just got your text.

no I'm not watching doctors, it was on at 1.35

Egg · 21/12/2007 16:15

...

SquonkaClaus · 21/12/2007 16:22

is your ds still asleep?

I have three children at home now, dp gone drinking after work so won't be back till the early hours!

Egg · 21/12/2007 16:31

Urgh my gingerbread men (and women) are getting so fat in the oven they are merging into one big gingerbread sheet...

DS got v fed up as we had to wait 30 mins for mixture to cool before rolling and cutting out shapes. He headed off to the old failsafe of CBEEBIES.

3 mins til they are done. I will report back. Please bear in mind I never never never never bake anything.
