New thread offically open, complete with Wine Gin [ brew] etc. And Hayloft. Speaking of which...

Gosh, I’m feeling a little bit more energised. What an incentive Grin

Night

LetUsPrey · 13/02/2020 07:45

Morning wenches.

Everyone had a workout last night Grin

It’s light outside! Doesn’t seem windy either. No idea what awaits at work but I’m guessing it’ll be quite rubbish.

DS2 has put the Goes Wrong Show on - The Lodge GrinGrin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/02/2020 07:57

Wind and rain here today. bleurgh. So not exactly light - more gloomy, Still, it eased up enough for a walk to the bus (rather than a drive).

Glad you had a good workout last night LetUs. Today I need to seriously do packing (Rather than putting piles of clothes out in the spare room).

ApricotCrush · 13/02/2020 17:19

Afternoon.

Oh, I see Helen. I never have a bath, can't be bothered, it's so much quicker to have a shower.

I like Mary Beard too, will have to look for that.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 13/02/2020 18:56

Evening wenches.

Hope packing has been successful Helen.

I do occasionally like a bath but I usually wait until I have the house to myself which isn’t very often. It’s not very relaxing when I can hear DS1 shouting at his computer game in the next room. Also, there’s invariably someone who wants the loo when I’m in the bath.

I do enjoy it at work when things go wrong and things don’t work for people to have the huff with me and complain at me when IT’S NOT MY FUCKING FAULT AND THERE’S NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Feel cold and shit and a sore throat so that’s fun.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/02/2020 20:03

Evening.

Oh LetUs Sad Turf everyone out of the house and have a long hot HBF bath? Apricot - the whole point of a bath is it does take time - during which you have notional peace and quiet and can read a book while feeling really warm. (Or small people demand to use the toilet while you're in there or demand that you get out of the bath to tuck them in, etc... though obviously interruptions from HBFs are always imaginary welcome)

My back is still sore - it's worse than it was before I saw the physio Hmm Angry

In other news, at swimming, across the other side of the pool in the seating area, without my glasses on, there was a bloke who looked like Adam Driver. I thought of wenches. Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 13/02/2020 21:19

Oh no at back being worse than before physio!

Oh yes at Adam Driver almost lookalike!

I’m finishing watching Secrets of the Museum - drooling over the jewellery - getting DS2 to bed and then going to bed myself.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/02/2020 22:02

Hurrah for early nights- assuming DS2 is in bed. I'm heading that way too...

Morning wenches.

Sort of got an early night but was awake at about 2.30 and took ages to get back to sleep. Ah well, it’s Friday

Happy Friday everywench

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/02/2020 08:04

Happy Valentines Day wenches

Morning all. Cloudy but dry this morning. DS is off to the bus and I need to run out the door.

Packing is done (pretty much) for ms and DS. DH is still at the 'piles of stuff' and "WHERE IS MY X/Y/Z!!! I LEFT IT HERE!!! HAVE YOU PUT IT SOMEWHERE??!!" stage . He says he will pack tonight, so that won't be at all stressful, and be very romantic Hmm

Hope you have a better day today LetUs

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 14/02/2020 17:51

Evening. DH has been on the roof repairing a leak. I've only just recovered. Shock

Oh LetUs, I hope you've had a better day today.

Good luck with MrHelen and his packing Helen. Hmm When are you going?

LetUsPrey · 14/02/2020 19:30

Evening wenches.

Work was better in that things were actually working today. Cold is at the “miserable and pathetic” stage.

Yet more proof that MrHelen and DH are related in some way

Shock at MrApricot on the roof! Thank goodness we only knew after the event.

My romantic evening will be dinner and then an early night , although the washing machine is beeping at me so I’ll have to remember to do that before bed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/02/2020 21:07

Evening.

Shock at MrA up on the roof (would he like to repair ours?!)

We are off tomorrow, but flying on Sunday - heaven help us with Storm Dennis blowing a hooley. We've been told to expect delays if not cancellations You're all in charge of the cats and chickens - not need to worry about the bees since they're all dead.

We have romantically watched Death in Paradise, and DH has still got piles of things to pack. I suppose at least he has got everything into piles of stuff to be packed.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 14/02/2020 21:11

Evening. A busy week at work, but much laughter - particularly this afternoon. I think everyone had had enough frankly, there were some very random conversations Grin

oooooh that AT pic upthread

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/02/2020 21:43

DH is now romantically stressing out over weather warnings and travel disruptions. Not that he's actually packed anything that would enable him to go on holiday anyway. But you know, he's worrying about the travelling that we can't do unless he bloody packs. FFS...

Apparently he's 'checking our options'. Because we will have so much control over the situation?!

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 15/02/2020 09:13

Morning wenches.

An early night seems to have helped a bit, although somewhat negated by me reading for over an hour when I went to bed. Also I don’t necessarily recommend reading a book by a forensic pathologist just before going to sleep. Anyway, I’m up and there’s a wash on.

Fancy, you and your colleagues sound very much like me and mine Grin

re Storm Dennis and FamilleHelen going on their holidays. How have you not shouted at MrHelen to just pack his bloody case and then worry about the travelling? Perhaps you have Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/02/2020 10:18

Morning.

Shock I did not shout LetUs - perish the thought. I simply suggested, with emphasis, that he pack his things so we don't have a last minute panic today. So he has packed, and assured me that there will be no last minute panics (there will be, there are always last-minute panics)

Random Friday work convos are always fun Grin though we have so few people in on a Friday that they're slightly limited in scope.

The wind is picking up, but we'll ignore that for the good news: The Goes Wrong Show has been commissioned for a second series Grin

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 15/02/2020 11:21

Morning
How did I miss the comment about MrA being on the roof?

Am summoning up the will to go to the shops

LetUsPrey · 15/02/2020 11:35

Hurrah for second series of Goes Wrong Show! DS2 put a couple of them on again yesterday.

Grin at suggested with emphasis

I’d not bother Fancy unless you need essentials, ie pink wine and Lotus biscuit spread .

I’ve watched the latest episode of Picard. If you see a melted Wench puddle, that’ll be me.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/02/2020 14:32

We need to go. I am not ready. DH is grouchy in anticipation of being later leaving than he planned. Not that he's eaten his lunch yet Hmm

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 15/02/2020 14:54

Afternoon. Horribly wet and windy here. Good job he's not on the roof today, he'd be blown away. Still, the rain's not leaking in where it was before, so that's good.

I did watch a couple of eps of Goes Wrong Show, but then forgot about them. Will catch up at some time. Hmm

Glad TeamA are enjoying Picard. Is it Netflix or something?

Hope Helen and Co. have a lovely time and avoid the bad weather. Look forward to daily reports of adventures.

LetUsPrey · 15/02/2020 17:16

Safe travels Helen. I’ll check the cats tomorrow, see if there’s any eggs to collect.

Picard is on Amazon. Santi plays more than one character and occasionally speaks Spanish and I’m often to be seen either with my mouth hanging open or with a big smile on my face.

Wet and windy here too but we seem to be extremely fortunate in that there’s no flooding or damage.

I’ve eaten too much crap today.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/02/2020 22:34

Evening all. We are safely arrived at pre-holiday stopover (Chateau Fancy), without getting blown away. Fingers crossed for the flight tomorrow... Confused

We are currently shrieking with laughter - playing with predictive texts:
I am [your name] destroyer of [let predictive text fill in the rest]
The sheer ridiculousness of it the results are wonderful.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/02/2020 09:04

Morning.

I am SisterHelen destroyer of the restaurant and I think I can do badminton tonight
(as per Twitter nonsense, e.g. twitter.com/neilhimself/status/1228580884552400898)

All looking ok for flights so far - will keep fingers crossed. Have a good day all and hope no-one has been washed/blown away overnight. Hurrah for not-leaking-anymore roof Apricot Grin
