at misreading as groping session

Poor DH is still suffering a bit with his tooth Sad. I really hope these antibiotics work for him.

Going to see if I can get DS2 to watch Treasure Island. I don’t hold out much hope.

Watched the second episode of DEVS. Not entirely sure what’s going on but it’s good.

FancyFancy · 16/04/2020 23:32

I wish my real life to do list looked like that...
Instead, very little of what started the day on the list got crossed off as a bunch of stuff added itself to the list & queue jumped. Including a slightly panicked phone call from a client at about one minute to five - talk about last minute. Good job it was one of the clients I like - there was another phone call from them as I was about to start cooking dinner. Anyhoo, issue resolved and hopefully a few brownie points earned.

Had a group video call this morning, started off very sensible then deteriorated in the middle Grin - I do actually miss my colleagues, they're a funny bunch.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/04/2020 08:25

It is the very worst thing about working from home - no random chats and digressions. Though I do like the short commute. Today I have multiple spreadsheets to set up. I suppose if I get cracking then I can finish early too.

Today is sunny, but cool. I feel like I should get the washing on, just in case the weather takes a dip.

In other news, I have a really annoying twitch around my left shoulder-blade.

Hurrah for brownie points Fancy Grin
Hmm for groping sessions. Was throughly not up for that after we'd finished grouching.
[drugs] for MrLetUs Gin for LetUs
Wine for Apricot
[noise cancelling headphones] for everyone, esp. Wicked
[apathy] for me...

Morning wenches.

Having a job where you like your colleagues is a definite bonus.

DH is still suffering Sad. He’s getting back in touch with his dentist to see what else they can suggest. He needs a root canal but obviously that can’t be done at the moment. He may just have to have the tooth out. Still, he’s coping with it better than I’ve done in the past.

Haven’t managed to get DS2 to do any schoolwork. Can’t get going with it. Making him get dressed is about as far as I get at the moment.

ApricotCrush · 17/04/2020 17:33

Afternoon. Cold and cloudy here, it's raining now.

I thought I'd give the car a whizz round the road earlier as it hasn't been used for over a month. Flat as a pancake. Now on the charger.

Poor MrLetUs. They sometimes do take a few days to kick in.

I suppose that's the trouble with working from home Fancy, people think you're available to them at any time. Hmm

I do love Houdini, she sounds a real character.

Grin at groping session.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/04/2020 17:36

I have conquered the spreadsheets, and now it's the weekend - hurrah!!!

Best get the washing in (be still my beating heart, etc. though not entirely still obvs, because I don't want to die.)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/04/2020 18:42

It’s been sunny here but quite breezy so a bit too chilly for sitting out.

I think I’ll ask DH if he’ll take my car to work one day next week, keep it ticking over.

DH has been in touch with his dentist again and she’s prescribed him different antibiotics, the ones where you can’t drink any alcohol. I really hope they help.

Hurrah for conquered spreadsheets!

Doing a quiz tonight with LittleSis and my niece.

I keep looking down at my hands. They’re all lizardy looking. I need to get a decent hand cream

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/04/2020 21:34

I think you'll find that those are my hands you're looking at LetUs Hmm

Hayloft for me I think.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/04/2020 22:25

We can be lizardy handed wenches together Helen. I think a good way of getting moisture into one’s skin would be by massaging oils and lotions into HBFs, and vice versa.

Watching NCIS and then hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 18/04/2020 09:14

Morning wenches.

Bit grey today and there’s rain forecast for much of the day.

DH just phoned. He’s out doing the shopping and was going to collect my prescription (HRT) for me. They don’t have it, haven’t had it for a while and they don’t think I’ll be able to get it from anywhere else. So I can phone GP on Monday and ask for an alternative or phone other pharmacies in the area and ask if they have it and they’ll be able to get the prescription from a central place. Fun times. Not a life threatening position though so it’s not as desperate as some medications for others.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/04/2020 10:26

Poor MrLetus, hope the tooth gets better. I had the worst pain after removing a tooth and it was also a longer holiday when it started so I couldn't reach my dentist. Just popped painkillers non stop Confused

I think I actually woke myself up today, I heard some weird noises and it turned out they came from my nose Grin

LetUsPrey · 18/04/2020 11:13

I have showered, washed and dried hair, shaved my legs and applied body moisturiser. I’ve even put a bra on. I’m hoping all this will help me feel less meh.

Grin at waking yourself up with nose noises Wicked

DH has hopefully turned a corner with the tooth. No pain relief since yesterday lunchtime! He’s got the other antibiotics just in case it’s not gone away/it flares up again but I think I’m almost as relieved as him.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/04/2020 11:58

Morning. It's raining here, which is good because the garden needs it, but bad timing in terms of wanting to plant out stuff from the greenhouse. Ho hum.

That's crap LetUs - re the prescription. It would be on a weekend too, when you can't immediately start trying to sort it out. I saw something on twitter about someone saying that since they were stuck in, they'd decided that they were going to wear their favourite clothes (as in, their 'dressing up; favourite clothes, not their comfiest and slobbiest clothes). The idea quite appeals, except then I'd need to get cat hair off my favourite clothes Hmm

Oh - there is a new TB interview the went out live last night and is now on Youtube. It was a Q&A on The Souvenir, plus a bit of general chat. I've not watched it yet, and don't know how worth it is watching if you've not seen the very-good-but-a-bit-depressing film.

A bra Letus Shock

The sound was sort of like a whistling sound Grin My nose been quite stuffy lately, lots of cathair everywhere even though I vacuum once a week. Lots of pollen outside as well.

FancyFancy · 18/04/2020 12:49

Afternoon
Could've sworn I'd posted yesterday, but evidently not Hmm

Rainy here too - am glad as the garden needed it - I was even organised enough to apply the lawn feed beforehand

Yay for MrLetus's tooth improvement!

I'm with you re : cat hair ww, mine have started moulting again. Am contemplating a thorough clean of the front room - I expect to find an embarrassing amount of cat hair under the sofa Blush

LetUsPrey · 18/04/2020 13:04

Phoned several pharmacies that are open but no luck. I’ll phone surgery on Monday and ask for an alternative. Super.

I like the idea of wearing favourite clothes.

Raining here now. Not bringing the washing in as I think it’ll stop soon —and I can’t be arsed—

ApricotCrush · 18/04/2020 17:12

Afternoon. Rain all day here, so no outside painting for DH. He's been driving me mad all day asking how to do stuff on the laptop. He's also seen a recipe for some brocolli, onion and potato soup which he likes the look of and wants to cook himself. Shock He has never cooked. I don't cook soup, I open tins, but I've put what he wants on the next Sainsbury's order. This won't end well. Hmm

LetUs I have put hand cream on my hands every single night since I was a teenager, but I've had lizardy hands for ages. Sad about the HRT, hope you get some from somewhere else, but yay for MrLetUs's toothache getting better.

Excellent gardening there Fancy.

Grin at noisy nose.

I still haven't watched The Souvenir bad fan.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/04/2020 20:52

Evening. I hope that MrApricot's cooking exploits will be less worrying than the DIY ones Grin

We got the supports up for the runner beans today, and planted out some courgettes/marrows etc. If it turns out to be too early then it won't matter because DH planted about 100 seeds Confused

Has also rained on an off for most of the day here, but I still managed to get out on my bike - hurrah. Still seeing the hares about, plus deer, and the swallows have turned up for start dive-bombing their nest sites Grin

How did the 'making an effort with clothes' thing go then LetUs? Me and Elk got bored and swapped wedding dress photos Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 18/04/2020 22:10

You never know Apricot, the soup could be amazing! It does sound tasty. Mind you, I follow recipes once in a blue moonand then never quite turn out as good as they should.

Good gardening and cycling and nature spotting Helen.

I’ll start having a look through my wardrobe for what to wear. Probably start with different tops instead of t shirts to wear with jeans.

We’ve got a film on called A Monster Calls. It’s very sad but beautiful. Possibly not the best thing to be watching given my current cry at anything mood.

Morning. This morning it is bright and sunny and quiet downstairs, so I'm hoping to watch that YouTube Souvenir Q&A... there seems to be some excitement on twitter that he's hiding his hair under a hat because it's gone blonde for whatever he was filming before lockdown. But he can't let anyone see the new look because, spoilers. More practically, I think that if it was dyed before lockdown, his roots will be showing through by now, which is never a good look, so hats ahoy! Grin

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/04/2020 08:50

Ah - he doesn't say it's gone blonde, he just says it's had a 'transformation; for the job and it would be 'a bit of a reveal'. So... mohican? Grin
The 'blonde' pronouncement is from people watching who think they can see a tiny bit of hair. I wasn't watching that closely. (Joins apricot on the 'bad fan' step - though I have at least seen the film Grin )

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 19/04/2020 10:08

Morning
Fingers crossed for you letus (and MrLetus's tooth) - there were HRT supply issues before all this, can't imagine the situation has improved over the last few months.

Sunny here too, but rather windy - maybe a walk later. Once I've finished contemplating towels.....

LetUsPrey · 19/04/2020 10:09

Morning wenches.

Trying to imagine him as blonde. Nope. I like the mohican idea Grin

Just as well DH has that other course of antibiotics because the pain’s back - same tooth Sad. Poor sod. So he’s starting those and he’s off the booze (not that that will be a struggle or anything but still).

Sunny here but I can see it’s quite windy.

Definitely doing the ironing today.
