New thread offically open, complete with Wine Gin [ brew] etc. And Hayloft. Speaking of which...

I have been gardening and stuff, and now I have a stinking headache again. FFS. I'm sure that DS watching Teen Titans Go! and DH listening to loud music will absolutely help it though. Hmm

Also, the temperature has dropped considerably, and Tim Brooke-Taylor has died Sad Sad Sad

I know exactly what you mean Apricot. I know there’s the thing about the overuse of antibiotics but then in your case, as you say, you can only have one kind. In DH’s case neither of us can remember the last time he had any.

Thanks for the sympathies wenches.

Sad at headache Helen. Also at TB-T. Used to love watching The Goodies when I was little. We had the Funky Gibbon on 7”.

DS2 absolutely wiped the floor with me and DS1 at Monopoly. I don’t think he’s ever lost at it actually.

FancyFancy · 12/04/2020 23:49

Evening. Thanks for that helen, I am getting increasingly excited about the (hopefully soon to arrive) compost bin. This could quite easily turn into a bit of an obsession Blush Spent a few hours gardening & went for a walk - it is lovely out there, but omg the pollen! Lots of laurel here & the air is thick with the smell.

Sad about T-BT, loved him on I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue and The Goodies just reminds me of being a kid.

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2020 10:00

Morning wenches.

It sounds lovely there Fancy. We still have quite a lot of traffic noise here unfortunately to hear more birds than usual. Might have a walk later. It’s sunny but quite a bit cooler than the last few days.

Looking forward to the composting updates!

Might do a bit more of my jigsaw later, possibly carry on with my knitting. At this rate I’ll have the scarf finished for winter.

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2020 11:55

Washing out, dishes done, and, thrillingly, the washing machine detergent drawer is now clean. Used an old toothbrush to get into all the nooks.

Is it too early for a drink?

FancyFancy · 13/04/2020 12:15

Definitely not too early letus - in fact you're the second friend that's asked me that already today Grin

It's bloody windy outside - my ski[p the gardening and just go for a walk, the bluebells are starting to emerge apparently.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2020 13:10

Afternoon. I went to bed with my headache and woke up with my headache and went back to bed again. Hopefully it's buggered off now. But I have done nothing today (apart from get up, feed chickens, take drugs, go back to bed, and occasionally stroke Stupid Cat.)

Is miniLetUs aiming for a life of cut-throat property development? Grin I have to say, I can live without monopoly. Would much rather play cluedo or scrabble, or frustration, or laybyrinth

Bluebells are starting to come out here too Fancy - they're out along the road, but mine are only spikes of green still. DH say you should lay of the spouts Wink He also says it's not too early for a drink because it's bank holiday. There's a breeze here but not too bad. Not very warm though.

ApricotCrush · 13/04/2020 16:38

Afternoon. Much colder here. I tried to sit out in the sun but the wind was too cold, so I did some ironing instead. DH has now started to paint the outside of the house. Confused

How is MrLetus today? I have got a course of my antibiotics which I managed without, but it's three years old, and I don't think I would dare take them if I needed to.

Yay for compost bin Fancy wouldn't know what to do with one.

Sad at TB-T.

I have a food shop arriving in a couple of hours. Excitement! Smile

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2020 17:05

Wind seems to have subsided a bit here. Looks beautiful but it’s bloody chilly. Midweek’s looking good though.

He could well do that Helen Grin. Articulate tonight.

How’s your head Helen?

DH seems to be managing with paracetamol. He went for a run this morning so his dodgy knee took over from the tooth. He’s not great at mooching and not doing much, whereas I am at world championship level Grin

Hope you get most if not all of your food order Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2020 17:54

Head seems ok now - have been on a screen for most of the afternoon and no ill effects yet, so fingers crossed...

No fucking wine again. Angry. I've got 4 bottles though so that should last me for a while. I did get toilet roll which was the first since way before the panic thing so was getting a bit concerned. Hmm

Grin at airbags.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/04/2020 20:48

Boo for no wine, but hurrah for toilet roll!

We're watching University Challenge. I'm struggling to understand most of the questions tonight, never mind knowing the answers.

Hidders is on the BFI player if you have a subscription/free trial - player.bfi.org.uk/subscription/film/watch-unrelated-2007-online

Off to the hayloft now...

LetUsPrey · 13/04/2020 22:26

No wine?!

Yay for toilet roll though

Same here for University Challenge Helen. Lost the track of what was being asked about halfway through the question. I did get one right though that the team didn’t get so I was quite pleased with myself. It was about Audrey Hepburn films.

We’ve watched the first episode of the new series of Killing Eve. It’s excellent.

Hope you get a good sleep Helen.

FancyFancy · 13/04/2020 23:06

Tell MrHelen that I don't like sprouts Grin

Bluebells were very lovely, may try a different wood tomorrow & see what they're like there too.

Now watching Foyles War....

FancyFancy · 14/04/2020 09:18

Morning.

Summoning up the enthusiasm to start work.....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/04/2020 09:37

Morning. Yes - work, urgh... though actually I don't think I have much, looking at the state of my inbox... I may watch Jane Eyre instead Grin And order wood for the chicken coop.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs a bit of sun here at the moment. Not terribly inspiring though.

Morning wenches.

I was just thinking about going to the hayloft last night when I spotted that Singin’ In The Rain had just started, so I watched that. Lovely.

Sunny here but no idea of the temperature outside. May venture into the garden to check.

DS is in an absolutely foul mood because he was waiting for a new game to be delivered from Amazon - due today. He got his hopes up when something arrived, but it wasn't his game. DH has just checked on Amazon and they're now saying that it will be delivered in a week. FFS. I know that they're prioritising 'essentials' and stuff - but they could have built that into the delivery time that they quoted when we ordered it, rather than making look like it would be delivered to the usual schedule.

Oh look - and MN has just decided to advertise the Killers Concert - like that's going to be happening Sad FFAS.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 14/04/2020 12:58

That’s a bummer re MiniHelen’s game. Been there, done that. Your fault obviously.

DS1 has been nagging me to cut his hair. I kept putting him off. He’s insisted so I got the clippers out. He’s now in a bit of a sulk as his hair doesn’t look as perfect as it does when he leaves the barbers. Doesn’t look too bad to be honest.

Concert definitely not happening until next year Sad. Not sure how Brandon will cope not seeing me for that length of time.

FancyFancy · 14/04/2020 14:32

Ooh Singin' in the Rain - I love that film Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/04/2020 15:15

I love Gene Kelly Smile

ApricotCrush · 14/04/2020 17:12

Afternoon. Lovely day here and a lot warmer, been sitting out in the sun.

Oh I didn't know Killing Eve had started again. I seem to be losing touch with what's on the TV. Hmm

I love bluebells and there's a wood in the village up the road that's full of them, but it's a car journey so I won't be seeing them this year. I'll have to make do with ours which aren't out yet.

Oh poor DS Helen. Sad A week is an awfully long time at that age.

LetUsPrey · 14/04/2020 17:24

It’s such a happy film and yes, Gene Kelly is rather wonderful

It’s on iPlayer each Monday from 6am Apricot with that episode then being screened on BBC1 the following Sunday. It’s just one episode at a time, not the whole series.

DH has been prescribed some antibiotics so hopefully they’ll kick in. It’ll need proper treatment when all that’s available again but for now it’s fingers crossed the antibiotics will deal with it for now.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/04/2020 20:11

Changed to summer tyres today and when I was going to pay I totally forgot the PIN code to the credit card, total blackout, never happened before. A bit scary Confused
