Evening all. I have dug the potato patch and planted out all the spuds. Hurrah!!! (I'm a bit knackered.) And I've been out for a bike ride in the hopes that it will loosed up my back. A futile hope I think, I'll be needing a hot bath tonight - Athos can provide the back rubs. And other distractions Grin

If you're wanting to listen to TB, then you'll want this as well - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000h295 specifically 40:13 and 49:31 when you can get propositioned by him Grin Grin

It’ll be the prawns Wicked absolutely

Hurrah for the potato patch! I’ve downloaded that Garrick thing.

Have just spent a rather enjoyable nearly 2.5 hours FaceTiming with BestFriend and having a few drinks for our virtual evening out.

Off to watch tv with DH and then hayloft.

FancyFancy · 10/04/2020 23:16

I have also failed to deal with hydrangeas today apricot so I feel I'm in good company.

You sound rather sober letus?

LetUsPrey · 10/04/2020 23:27

Lots and lots of chatting got in the way of the drinking so it was totally worth it

Just watching the end of Avengers Endgame. So much FAF.

LetUsPrey · 11/04/2020 09:07

Morning wenches.

Another warm day expected here but not as sunny.

Was listening to a song by The Lumineers yesterday (think it’s been in an advert too) called Ho Hey. Made me Grin. I’ve heard of the band but didn’t know their music which I’m now putting right. They can go on my list of bands I want to see live.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/04/2020 11:03

I haven't started on the prawns yet Letus Grin
I think it might have been the grapes, would be weird if it was because of the crisps with garlic dip, chocolates and wine Hmm

FancyFancy · 11/04/2020 11:52

Morning
Mmmmmm, crisps with garlic dip sound sooooo good.
Sunny here, planning on more gardening & laundry. Because I just haven't done enough of those lately...........
DC not out of bed yet, predictably.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/04/2020 12:17

OMG Wicked - yes - totally the grapes. Suggest you eat the prawns asap to help you feel better. Grin

LOL at mowing the moss Fancy, and hurrah for facetiming best friends.

We are discussing replacement chicken coops, and argument is brewing. Oh joy.... Wonder if the washing is done yet.

ApricotCrush · 11/04/2020 16:38

Afternoon.

That sounds lovely LetUs, I'm going to have to sort out some headphones. It's bedlam round here. A neighbour two doors away is having some sort of log cabin built in her garden Confused and the builder has been hammering at it for two days now with a radio blaring. On top of that next door neighbour is bashing at the concrete on his terrace and new people at the bottom of the garden are knocking ten bells out of their house. Not to be outdone, DH is jet-washing. I had to come in. Angry

Also Grin at mowing the moss.

Definitely the grapes WW. Hope you've recovered now.

Ooo, new chicken coops. Do the chickens have any input? I imagine HoudiniHen being opinionated as it may stop her escapades. Grin

ApricotCrush · 11/04/2020 16:40

Oh, I saw that TB play mentioned. Will download it.

LetUsPrey · 11/04/2020 17:14

Yes, stay away from grapes from now on Wicked. Mmm at crisps with garlic dip.

You never know what you might find in your shrubbery Fancy.

Are the chicken coop discussions including many and varied opinions from both parties, said opinions being expressed in determined fashion Helen? at Apricot’s suggestion that HoudiniHen will want some input.

That level of noise sounds bloody awful Apricot. My headphones aren’t anything special, but they do what I want them to and I don’t think even super duper headphones could block out the noise you’ve got there —or the kids next door here who’ve been out, shrieking and screaming, since about 10am and have decided to start singing—

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/04/2020 18:38

I'm fine now but was a bit worried they would have to evacuate the building because of my farting last night Confused

FancyFancy · 11/04/2020 18:41

Discussions about the chicken coop helen? Have you explained to Mr Helen exactly what the reason for your preferred structure is hmmm? Wink

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/04/2020 19:52

Well, I have said that it needs to be the right height... Houdini has been teaching her friends her tricks today Hmm Though they stayed put when I put them back in. Unlike Houdini, who has been underfoot in the garden all day while I've been weeding and creosoting.

Noisy neighbours sound like a nightmare Apricot & LetUs Sad Our London refugees neighbours look like they left today, but they were very quiet and unobtrusive, so no problem really.

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/04/2020 20:08

The upside of living out in the sticks Helen. I've been using earplugs for a year now Hmm

LetUsPrey · 11/04/2020 21:34

Thanks for the Wine Fancy. I’m just having an apple vodka.

I accidentally tried to use farting as a distraction technique when I was playing Cluedo with DH and DS2. Didn’t work.

Grin Fancy. But Helen, says MrHelen, why does the chicken coop need to be as sturdy as that? What do you mean it needs to be able to withstand banging? What do you think the chickens will be up to?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/04/2020 22:51

Urgh Wicked - fortunately I never needed earplugs when I lived in various different flats - even when I wasn't on the top floor. University accommodation - now that's where I could have used ear plugs Confused

And yes Fancy/LetUs - the chickens need a good study coop to, erm... withstand gales, and me leaning against it when I encounter HBFs have to clean it out.

I need to head for bed...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 12/04/2020 09:14

Morning wenches.

Oh yes, those gales. Best make the coop super strong. Perhaps with handles for ... for ... for if you want to move it when you’re cleaning it.

Poor DH is suffering quite badly with toothache. Dentist has been in touch via text and email but they can’t say for sure if it’s an infection so can’t prescribe antibiotics. If it gets unmanageable, they can refer him to an emergency dental centre but they can only do extractions at the moment. He’s trying to cope with painkillers and salt water rinses. He’s quite a stoic chap when it comes to pain and illness, so it really must be hurting.

Not much planned today. DS2 has put Curse of the Were-Rabbit on Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/04/2020 09:57

Oh - excellent - handles. Absolutely. So you can tie it down as well as hang on to it. Grin

Oh god - poor MrLetUs - that's utterly grim, toothache is the worst Sad

No plans here either. I think DS plans to spend the entire day online (so no change) and DH is still in bed. I feel a bit bad about it actually, because I could have got mini eggs to do an easter egg hunt with. Btu I just didn't think. Sad

Oh well. I have done all the livestock things, but have forgotten about the greenhouse

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 12/04/2020 12:00

Morning (just)

Poor MrLetus Sad it really is an awful time to have toothache.

I do have Mini Eggs helen, but by the time my two get up it'll probably be too dark to find any eggs in the garden.......

Good job I have the cats to talk to Grin Although ScaredyCat is in my bad books - she caught a coal tit (I think) last night. Feathers all over the utility & at one point it was flying around in there. Anyhow, I managed to get take outside where it promptly off. Hope it's ok, such a cute little thing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/04/2020 12:25

Fancy - were you talking composting? I just came across this while researching whether to fill the new garden roller (take that, molehills!) with sand or water...
www.lawnexperts.co.uk/composting-lawn-clippings.html

Also at Scaredy Cat. Fortunately ours don't bring in birds. Or not often. The goldfinch a few years ago was an exception and also survived the experience (it's probably in a support group with the caol tit now as 'cat survivors') In related news, I haven't caught a mouse for ages, and the bait is still there. So that's good. They're either not bringing them in just now, or not catching any. They're both sound asleep at the moment, so not catching anything looks likely.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/04/2020 12:47

Also, happy Easter - hope the relevant bunny has visited you... Grin

Definitely don’t miss having to clear up feathers and bits of mouse.

DH is being very brave —much more than I would be—.

EasterBunnyAramis doesn’t even have to bring me any Easter Eggs. I mean, obviously I’ll not turn him away if he brings eggs.

I’ve tidied the storage area under DS2’s bed and cleaned it. All his games are now very neatly stacked.

Watched Jesus Christ Superstar today on YouTube as part of The Shows Must Go On. Tim Minchin - who I’ve always had a bit of a thing for - was Judas. He was amazing. The whole show was great, but he was especially fantastic.

We’re apparently playing Monopoly tonight

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/04/2020 16:35

Poor MrLetus Sad

ApricotCrush · 12/04/2020 17:46

Afteroon. Cloudy all day here although still warm.

Oh poor MrLetUs. Sad This is my fear. I'm prone to gum infections and can usually get rid of them with salt rinses, but sometimes I need antibiotics. I'm allergic to a lot of them and the one I have is made in India and they've stopped exporting it. I phoned the dentist before lockdown and asked if I could have a prescription but they said they don't give them out 'just in case' and there's a plentiful supply at the moment. Yes, but there may not be when I may need it... Angry

Good luck with the Monopoly. Hmm
