Walk was lovely - warm and sunny, birds singing in the woods & bulbs & buds emerging. Then went home & messed up my hair Wink

In less exciting news - went to the tip. Am behind on my target of getting rid of one thing a day, made a small dip in the backlog today. work tomorrow. I can quite easily work at home for the rest of the week, but certain of the bosses don't like home working & so the firm is dragging it's feet on the issue.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/03/2020 22:06

FFS at 'certain bosses' - BoringOfficeJob has told us to work from home unless we have to go into the office. Which we don't really, we can muddle through on skype and suchlike.

Hurrah for messed up hair though. Grin

I ought to head for an early night too.

Morning wenches. What I particularly enjoyed was being awake from about 4am, then falling asleep about 40 minutes before the alarm went off.

Grin at messed up hair Fancy.

Off into work soon. I suppose the roads will be quieter.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2020 08:08

Oh FFS LetUs - that's so shite Sad FIngers crossed for quieter roads though.

I think I slept ok, but I feel like I have been hit by a truck this morning, and have got work to do so can't just fall back into bed now DS is out the door. ho hum. There's always red bull Grin

There's also a 'post' button, but I seem to forget that quite often. Still, now I can say 'Happy St Patrick's Day' from twitter... twitter.com/redfacts/status/710571777693499392

Morning
St Patrick's Day?! Shit, that's MIL's b'day - must get a card!

Spooky letus, I had the same thing with sleep - most unlike me. Also hoping for quieter roads and easier parking.

Laters.....

Afternoon.

DD's job-share colleague is self-isolating with symptoms, so we have been relieved of school run duties just in case. We're relieved about this as DGS is probably our greatest risk, but it's so sad. We don't know when we'll see any of them next, although we're keeping in touch by phone/WhatsApp of course. I have visions of us waving to them out of the window like the Italians. Sad

Well, I went to Sainsbury's. No bread, cereals, soup, washing powder, eggs, chicken, tinned veg, potatoes and worst of all NO FUCKING WINE. Angry One of the staff brought out a crate of loo rolls, and the whole store fell on them like vultures. A lady standing by me said 'I don't think I can be bothered' and I agreed. Madness.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2020 17:11

NO FUCKING WINE Shock Shock Shock Go online to Laithwaites? Or Naked Wines? Or Majestic? Or - better yet - Athos' wine cellar Grin

DF was out shopping today and said that Tesco was a loss but Sanisburys had food. Though no-one was stocking big jars of Marmite Sad - so he got me two small ones - yay! Grin

I have been unmotivated and bored all day. Stupid Cat is sleeping on my while I work. Or jumping off and mewing. And then jumping back on and demanding attention...

Evening wenches. Work appear to be continuing the theme of being TwattyBastards. Sigh.

Managed to get basil for DS2 for food tech, although it was in the second supermarket I went in as the first had sold out. Of basil FFS. Lots of empty shelves and aisles. Friend reported same at two of her local big supermarkets. Agree that it’s madness.

And as for NO FUCKING WINE. I. Can’t. Even. Hurrah for marmite though!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/03/2020 19:17

No wine?????ConfusedConfusedConfused

Haven't slept a whole night in ages. Even started taking sleeping pills sometimes. I usually wake up at around 2-3 and goes to the toilet and feeding Fräsan, then I close the door to the bedroom so she won't wake me up again and hopefully I can go back to sleep. Then I wake up 1,5-1 hour before the alarm goes off.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2020 19:42

Oh Wicked Sad and [HBFs]

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/03/2020 20:05

At least I sleep better now than when I was on those stupid meds, also good to have some sleeping pills if I really can't sleep, I'm careful though, don't want to get addicted.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2020 21:22

Still, it would be better of you could just sleep (with HBFs).

Speaking of which, I'm off for a bath and early night. Will send Vinnie of the deal with LetUs' work twats, as ever... Sad

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/03/2020 21:35

Wicked. A lack of decent sleep can have such a knock on effect.

I think even Vinnie would just shake his head at them in despair.

In absence of being kept awake all night by HBFs, which would be totally worth it if course, here’s to a restful night’s sleep for all wenches.

FancyFancy · 17/03/2020 23:25

Disturbed sleep really is a nightmare ww, hope you see some improvement now you're off the meds.

apricot fingers crossed you & the family are ok.

Am watching another Foyle's War - Peter Capaldi is listed in the cast......

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2020 07:56

Morning. It's plodder. Plod out to feed chickens, plod to school bus, plod home... plonk down on sofa and be a cat bed...

Still, it's not raining, and there is always FAF to be perused...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 18/03/2020 08:07

Morning wenches. Running late! The FAF will have to keep —it— up!

FancyFancy · 18/03/2020 08:39

Morning.
Working at home today, which will delight the cats, as work have given us the option. Won't do it every day but it's nice to have the option and it should mean I can get close to completing one task that needs to be finished by the end of the week.

Afternoon.
Did another Sainsbury's shop this morning for the stuff I didn't get yesterday. I can't believe I was in there at 9 o'clock. Shock It was a bit better, but still no wine. I should add that they did have wine but not the only one that doesn't give me a migraine. Sad DH says I can have what I have left and he'll have a G&T. Grin

I'll be shopping online from now on. Sainsbury's don't have a single slot for the next three weeks, but I can manage till then. DD can get anything I run out of.

Love the work from home pets. Smile

We're going to dive to the caravan tomorrow to open it up for the season. I doubt we'll be able to go again for the forseeable, but at least it will be ready for the DC if they are able to go. We reckon we can do it without speaking to another living soul, hopefully.

No idea what the wi-fi will be like, so if you don't hear from me, stay safe wenches and have a good weekend.

ApricotCrush · 18/03/2020 15:58

Oh, forgot to say, sorry you're not sleeping WW. I'm the same, waking up at around 2.30 and can't get back to sleep. I had four hours last night. Sometimes I'm also taking a sleeping tablet from my late Aunt's supply, which are 10 years old. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 18/03/2020 19:11

Evening wenches.

Wine for Apricot and Gin for MrApricot. Hope all is okay at the caravan.

Managed to get bread for us and a loaf for the parents this morning, as well as a bottle of hand wash.

So schools and colleges close after Friday. No exams so have no idea how this is going to work for DS1 and all students in a similar position. We’ll be even more short-staffed in the office. Still, there are others worse off —is what I’m telling myself so I don’t freak out—

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/03/2020 19:13

Sad Apes

I took half a pill before bed then I woke up around 2 and took half a pill (didn't really help) and this morning I vomited so think I need to not take them that often. It's so bloody annoying not being able to go back to sleep.
I transcribe a lot about people seeking help for sleeping problems, it's so common.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2020 20:41

Evening. urgh re. interrupted sleep and lack of Wine and schools closing and children driving us (and themselves) demented... urghhhh

Wine Gin Chocolate and [HBFs] all round. I have to say that my work are being complete stars and wonderfully reasonable about disrupted working, and our local supermarket isn't empty, so it's not like I've got a massively hard life. But still, it's a bit grim. and DS is going to go mental with not seeing any friends and sportingActivity being cancelled, and being stuck with us Sad

WE have Repair Shop on, which seems to be very soothing - apart from the repetition of telling us what's going on...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 18/03/2020 23:26

I’m going to have to leave the DC looking after each other for a few weeks until I’ve got a week off. That always ends well, but at least I’ve got that.

Repair Shop is totally soothing.

I should head to the hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 19/03/2020 07:44

Morning wenches.

DS2 is watching The Crystal Maze - the original version. I do love Richard O’Brien. DH had a go at one of the real life ones they have set up. He really enjoyed it - I’d be concerned about making a pillock of myself.

Bit overcast today.
