Or if not mist, then atmospheric lighting... Hmm

New thread offically open, complete with Wine Gin [ brew] etc. And Hayloft. Speaking of which...

That's the one with the choir isn't it?

The one with David Suchet is much better. Famous cast though, Judi Dench is always good.

LetUsPrey · 14/03/2020 19:55

That’s the one.

The David Suchet Murder On The Orient Express is one of my favourites.

I want a drink but I can’t be arsed to move to get one.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/03/2020 20:44

Got bored, stopped watching. Watching the real Poirot instead now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/03/2020 20:57

We've got Matrix 3 on... just coming up the the big 'fighting the metal flying jellyfish' scene Grin

Tired tonight... I think that I have another early night coming on.

Morning wenches.

That’s definitely the best option Wicked.

Not sure I’ve seen Matrix 3.

Quite overcast here. Usual ironing and homework - whoop whoop. Going to see parents today so I’ll check they have everything they need —although my mother’s cupboards could see the pair of them through a nuclear winter anyway—

Watching another Midsomer Murders. This one is about a Jane Austen immersive experience. It looks fun, except for the dead body.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/03/2020 11:45

Windy here. Also sunny. I'm planning to hit the garden again.

This morning's stupid cat behaviour - pouncing on my feet (which were under the duvet) and trying to kill them, because I dared to move them whilst within reach of the cat.

FancyFancy · 15/03/2020 11:51

Morning
It's looking grim outside - was planning to do some gardening, but that doesn't look very appealing. Am debating whether to wander to the shops - Tesco's yesterday had miles of empty shelves, bloody ridiculous. I'm going to have to stop DD from making herself pasta as a snack as god knows when we will be able to get more & I would like what we do have to be used for meals. Plenty of fresh fruit & veg though, so that was good. We will be eating a lot of potatoes........

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 15/03/2020 13:07

Same here Fancy, apparantly Judgement Day is upon us. I did find toilet paper in a small village on the countryside where I used to live some years ago.

ApricotCrush · 15/03/2020 17:21

Afternoon.

It's mad in the supermarkets here, think I'll do a top-up tomorrow when it should be quieter. I wonder when DH and I will be under 'house arrest'. Hmm

Grin at StupidCat trying to kill feet.

LetUsPrey · 15/03/2020 18:37

Apricot I refuse to believe either of you are in that category. You can’t be.

Been to see parents this afternoon. They’ll be fine until about Christmas. Again, not stockpiling, just normal.

Am still binge watching Midsomer Murders. Bloody dangerous round those villages.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/03/2020 20:58

Also mad in the shops here today - I realised that I utterly failed to buy carrots yesterday, so went out and was somewhat gobsmacked by the queues at the supermarket. At what point do people realise that they can't fit any more stuff in their houses and stop buying? Fingers crossed for a saner day tomorrow Apricot. (I also discovered that what I thought was our usual big bag of pasta in the cupboard was actually rice Hmm oh well - rice it is then!

Didn't get much done in the garden after all, since it decided to cloud over and be generally grim, but DH got most of the grass cut so that was good. Then it rained. So this afternoon I binge watched the rest of Killing Eve S2 Grin (when not cooking tea...)

Some food tech homework has just popped up for DS2. Bolognese. I’m really hoping we have most of the ingredients, although I fairly sure we don’t have any basil. I don’t want to have to go to the shops. It’s too scary.

Perhaps I could take some HBFs with me as protection?

FancyFancy · 15/03/2020 21:31

IKR helen? I wanted lentils yesterday as I use them in soups and am running low. None. I have visions of people who don't even like them stockpiling them as I didn't think that many people liked them!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/03/2020 22:11

From Twitter:
---
Local Asda yesterday was out of tinned tomatoes, and passata, and puree. Even the expensive brands.
But next row along, they had a full shelf of Smartprice bolognese sauce. So I got that instead. You can use it in place of tinned toms in almost anything.
----
Apparently tinned lentils are also a thing, and people are buying pasta but ignoring noodles.

We usually buy big bags of lentils from the Indian supermarket, but DH has moved job location and now doesn't work near them so we just have piddly little bags from normal supermarkets.

Morning wenches.

I think you may be right Fancy. Useful to know Helen, thank you. My mum used to make an amazing tasting soup with lentils in it. It was one of my favourites.

Bright and sunny here. My hair has just tipped over from the “no it’s fine, doesn’t need cutting stage” to “hair needs cutting desperately” stage.

Sigh. Let’s just stay here with the HBFs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/03/2020 08:06

Morning. Is lovely and sunny this morning, and yesterday's ground frost is vanishing quickly.

No bonkers dreams to report, though I had an unsettling one about losing train ticket and DH & Ds going off without me, and then may bags vanishing. So that was ice and relaxing Hmm

This morning DH is mostly rather hungover from an ill-advised home made cider. It appeared innocuous last night, but judging by his reaction this morning, it appears to have been scumble

Shopping forecast is attached Grin and FAF - to help get us through monday.

The HBFs don't care what your hair looks like LetUs - in fact, the probably consider messy hair to be the sign of a Job Well Done Grin

I gave DS a well-overdue haircut last night - his fringe had grown to mid-nose if he brushed it down. You want to come round and you can sit on the stool watching tv while I give you a short back and sides? (I wouldn't advise it to be honest.)

Love the Shopping Forecast Grin

Oh dear, poor MrHelen. Sunshine has vanished already.

The FAF is definitely helping.

FancyFancy · 16/03/2020 09:01

Morning
@ shopping forecast

Oh dear MrHelen, not the best time for a hangover when there's a national shortage of paracetamol!

Beautiful sunshine here, a good day for a walk I think.

ApricotCrush · 16/03/2020 15:43

Afternoon. Nice day here. Didn't get to the supermarket, will try again tomorrow. Still eBaying for DS. I wonder whether anyone will want to buy stuff from random strangers at the moment. Hmm

Yes LetUs, how does hair suddenly grow fast overnight? Mine does the same. Luckily I have my own live-in hairdresser. Wink

Grin at shopping forecast.

LetUsPrey · 16/03/2020 19:03

Evening wenches.

Grin at messy hair being the sign of a Job Well Done. Might take you up on the hair cut offer.

Hope you had a good walk Fancy. Good luck tomorrow Apricot with the shopping.

I’m knackered and need to have an early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/03/2020 19:30

Dear God. DS is in full verbal diarrhoea/commentary mode while we watch TV...

He's gone up to bed now, thank goodness. I shouldn't complain, really. It's normally like blood out of a stone getting him to talk at any length, but - argh!

There’s never a happy medium though is there Helen? DS2 gets like that when he’s playing football on the Switch. And he does it at volume.

Right, I am —intending— to head to the hayloft imminently in an attempt to catch up after last night’s disturbed - sadly not due to HBF action - sleep.
