Evening wenches.

Happiest of birthdays Fancy! What a lovely way to celebrate by going out for a meal with FancyDD.

How are you Wicked?

Sounds like MrApricot was lucky to make it to the garage to collect his car. Surprised you didn’t tell him to get out and walk. Hurrah for car being back where it belongs though.

You’ll be able to feel all virtuous for going playing badminton Helen.

Friday seemed to think it was Monday because it was quite shit today. And DS2 seems to have been eleventy billion pieces of homework all at once. One’s appeared on his app today which was allegedly set much earlier in the week (it wasn’t and he says they weren’t told in class), it’s really involved, will take ages and is due on Monday. And I’m out all morning from early taking my car for its service. Rant over. I’ll be in the cupboard with my vodka.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/02/2020 23:14
Gin I'm not sure about feeling virtuous LetUs - more knackered and rather shit at badminton tonight. I shall feel Athos instead Grin [hayloft]

Evening
Had a very nice meal thanks - most civilised Smile

I think we all deserve the weekend off - lounging around attended by HBFs - what with recovering from awful meds, frayed nerves from back seat drivers, illing DC and homework shenanigans

LetUsPrey · 29/02/2020 07:37

Morning wenches.

Nothing virtuous about feeling Athos so you’re right about that Helen

You’re absolutely right Fancy. We all completely deserve that.

I started watching latest Picard yesterday. Had to stop because the bit where Santi appears, playing football, shirtless and with bare feet required more attention than I could give with folk wandering about. I shal hopefully be able to do this when I’m back from the garage.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/02/2020 11:55

Morning. What's that quotation - "When I'm good I'm very good, but when I'm bad I'm better'? Grin

I'll raise a glass to the weekend that Fancy's suggesting. DH is out all day and DS is plugged in to the xbox feeling 'meh' still. So technically I do have peace and quiet, but there;s a distinct lack of HBFs and a surplus of housework to be done.

Claim to have come back from Northern Italy helen, with a DS with a cough and a temperature & suggest a fortnight's self-isolation to work. Do check supplies of chocolate and snacks plus access to hours worth of faf on video - the essentials - before starting though.

LetUsPrey · 29/02/2020 17:41

That is sounding like a plan Fancy.

Car service went well and was quicker than expected, which was a shame because sitting quietly with my iPad has been the best bit of the day. Well, that and watching Picard which had a shirtless, barefoot footballing Santi in it. He was also kissing someone but sadly not me.

ApricotCrush · 29/02/2020 17:57

Evening. It's a bit rough out there. Nearly got blown away when I went to feed the birds.

Well, I've finished a jumper that I started knitting in 2013! Shock It was Plan B'd (rolled up, put in cupboard and forgotten) because I was having trouble with the neckline. Anyway, I've sorted it and sewn it up. Mind you, the acid test is trying it on and I haven't done that yet. Hmm

Have a good evening everyone. Wine

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/02/2020 18:26

Evening, I hung washing out today - then brought a lot of it back in after I was having to retrieve stuff before I'd finished hanging it all out Shock Though the first bits I hung out where almost dry by the time I decided to give it all up as a bad job.

I realised that my driving license was with the missing bank cards Sad And it costs £20 to replace it Sad So DH had one last look for my cards an only bloody found them in a bag I'd used for hand luggage. I mean, YAY! he found them, but FFS at why on earth I didn't see them myself when I first realised they were missing. I looked in that bag. Argh. Still - phew for not losing my licence. (I've already got the replacement bank cards.)

Stupid Cat is currently curled up in a ball of fur on bean bag - awww Smile and Inconvenient Cat is snoring behind me in the back of the sofa.

Well done on the jumper Apricot - I'm sure it will fit perfectly. Also hurrah for the car service LetUs - even though they could have taken a bit longer over it - hope that homework hell isn't too hellish. I like your idea Fancy - but there is a gapingly bad hole in the plan - it would require me to quarantine myself with DS and DH...

They're advertising 'coffee bags' on the TV - WhyTAF do you need bags for coffee?

Evening Wine

Watched some TM videos on Youtube, those were the days.

Hope all wenches have a lovely weekend Smile

LetUsPrey · 29/02/2020 21:05

Watched Cadfael earlier.

You keep nearly getting blown away Apricot. I suggest being tied down by HBFs. Well done at finishing your knitting.

Hurrah for finding the cards Helen! I spent weeks at work with a cable trailing across my desk because I just simply hadn’t seen the two sockets on the wall behind me. I hadn’t realised that the coffee bags were for ground coffee either.

Thanks Wicked Wine

Homework went a bit pear shaped this afternoon. I think I need an early night.

WhyTAF do you need bags for coffee - fixed that for you helen Grin

Have spent a lot of the afternoon assembling flatpack furniture, so have rewarded myself with a large glass of wine this evening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/03/2020 09:55

Morning. Nice and sunny here, but still blowing a gale. Hope the HFDs have plenty of rope (Yes, I know that Aramis prefers chains, but I think they'd be far too heavy.)

Random dream involving having various people staying for some sort of party - pottery painting or something. Apparently LetUs has loads of tattoos on her back that we've never seen! And a bunch of Burketeers were there too, but not all of them talking to each other Grin No HBFs however. FFS etc.

DS has slept in for the past couple of mornings Shock and is thus getting to sleep later. He'll have a bit of a struggle tomorrow morning I think...

LetUsPrey · 01/03/2020 10:13

Morning wenches.

No back tattoos Helen, but that’d be more likely than me trying pottery painting. Anything I’d produce would look like a stick person on a vase Grin I had a bit of a nightmare which stayed with me when I woke up in the middle of the night and took me ages to get back to sleep. Super.

Love a bit of flat pack Fancy, especially if there’s a glass of wine at the end of it.

DS2 hasn’t been so bad in the mornings recently so

I should really get in the shower and get a move on.

FancyFancy · 01/03/2020 10:35

Morning.

There really is something quite satisfying about assembling furniture. We'ew both pretty pleased with the results - I'm particularly hopefully it'll mean her room will be kept tidier!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/03/2020 12:52

Flat pack is fab - fingers crossed for more tidiness and fewer instances
of missing/festering crockery/cutlery [grn]

I love assembling flat packs, it's so much fun Smile

ApricotCrush · 01/03/2020 17:52

Afternoon. Thank goodness it's March. When we put the clocks back in October, I said that's four months of cooking in the dark, well, with the garden in the dark we still dont have a light on the terrace and now it's over. Smile

On the down side, I've trapped a finger under a drawer knob and it's going black and I can't bend it properly.

But yay for flat-packing, found driving license, better mornings and TM nostalgia.

LetUsPrey · 01/03/2020 20:56

Evening wenches.

Oh yes, the clocks go forward this month don’t they?! Thanks for the reminder Apricot - that’s perked me up a bit. I’m sure there’ll be an HBF willing to kiss your finger and anything else better.

I’ve done washing, ironing, visiting, homework wrangling, and am now doing another jigsaw. I’ve also been watching a Foyle’s War but I think it’s a fairly recent one so I’ve not spotted any BeforeTheyWereFamous types.

FancyFancy · 01/03/2020 21:22

Evening
Have had a much lazier day today, did manage a brief walk while it was nice & sunny.

Also Dragon Daffodil Happy Saint David's Day Smile

Daffodil Dragon [leek] [HBF]

I have been, um. Food shopping, cooking, and arguing with DS (oh joy) Why am I such a shouty parent? I'm sure my parents never spent so much time doing shouty exasperation Sad (I must have been perfect, that's all Hmm ) Oh well. The joys of parenting. I must try to be less shouty/impatient/exasperated. And now allow DS to spend so much time on the Xbox because his attitude seems to go right downhill when he gets more time. Oh and I did some washing without it being blown off the line Grin

Apricot - Ouch Sad Dr Athos is on his way to tend to your finger (and anything else that needs tending
[high-five] to Wicked re. flat-packs

Morning wenches.

mmmmmm, thanks Fancy

Tell you what Helen, I’ll try not to feel bad about being a bit shouty if you do the same. And the screen time limiting is easy to say, but not always easy to do so

Very frosty here but sunny. DH’s radio alarm went off this morning and I was woken up by Brandon again. Sadly only by a song on the radio but it’s a start.

Oh and many episodes of TM, videos of songs and interviews with Brandon, many other programmes featuring HBFs - no dreams. One episode of Foyle’s War and straight away an FW inspired dream. Thanks subconscious, thanks very much.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/03/2020 08:06

at stupid subconscious LetUs. Oh well - apparently DH is having a run of Zombie attack dreams which are most unpleasant. I can't even remember what my subconscious came up with last night, so probably nothing terribly inspiring.

I have shovelled DS off to school, being a complete drama queen "Why can't I sleep when I want to??? Why?????? I'm cold and tired and miserable! I hate my life! I just want to sleeeep!" All delivered in a sad 'listen to me I'm nearly crying' voice. However, because SisterHelenIsABitch (and because he's not had a temperature all weekend), I shoved him out of the door into the cold and rain, and saw him onto the bus. I didn't shout once either (because DH was asleep) Though my eyes may have made their own way to the bus stop, rolling merrily down the road. Hmm Grin

And now, to work....
