That's a good alternative to flying Helen, but first I have to get to bloody Malmö, which is quite far from me. I don't have any flight shame, I don't travel that often. I don't even drive that much, only 1-2 time a week.

Got up early today and went to the big DIY warehouse, don't know what you call shops like that in the UK, they have everything, lumber, wallpaper, tools etc etc. Anyway I rented a sanding machine (?), I had some stains on the kitchen benchtop I wanted to get rid of and it worked quite well, I hope. Then I had to oil the benchtop, it's drying atm so I hope it turns out ok.

You obviously need sorting out in return Apricot. I’m sure Athos will be more than willing. He’s just limbering up.

Very foggy here. Odd dreams involving helping my mum make chicken soup, an alien invasion, DS1 showing an interest in learning to drive, and helping DSis clear up after a bit of a rowdy party. I’m not even sure which of those is the least likely.

DS2 has already lost the enthusiasm for his homework.

Clear and sunny here (sorry!) Also had random dreams - family birthday party in social club where I was given lots of plants, and someone was ranting about how wonderful brexit was, so I left. Plus one where the roof of the chicken house (and other sheds that we don't have in real life - though I'm sure DS would love the tree house that I'd acquired in this dream) had their roofs blown off in a storm and there was much hasty patching up...

Homework hell here as well. DS has to research a topic and 'write in your own words'. which he loathes. Oh joy.

Having a lazy Sunday morning with ScaredyCat so far - most welcome after a looong week at work. Really wish we could recruit someone else in to help with my line of work. And that the existing ones displayed a little more attention to detail

Cats are still making a nuisance of themselves - FancyCat is shedding everywhere and every evening ScaredyCat climbs the bannisters as an attention seeking tactic.

Bought a coffee table at IKEA and was in a hurry and thinking of other things so I got the wrong size. I didn't even know they made different sizes ffs. So know I got a much bigger coffee table than I planned. I worry about my mental state sometimes. At least it wasn't that expensive.

Afternoon. Foggy here too this morning, then sunny, now foggy again.

I dreamed Buffy was in the house doing poos everywhere but they were rabbit poos, and I had to gather them all up before DH came home. We used to have a rabbit so I was obviously getting them mixed up.

Anyway, DS did go this morning - we had a negotiation last night where we decided that he can go every other week so he's not so busy all weekend. Then he did a bit of his homework and promised to finish it tomorrow

Today I have filled another wheelbarrow of weeds, chicken-wrangled and cooked tea. And the cats are asleep on me. Unlike Scaredy Cat who obviously wants to join a circus!

Evening. Lot of vivid sunrise/sets all over the place just now - my FB feed have lots! I've been steering clear of the H&M stuff, though it keeps popping up on twitter. I'm very about the whole thing - headline comparisons and the comment of "much of the most vitriolic coverage comes from papers, and former editors of papers, facing legal cases over hacking royal phones". I think the agenda has been loaded from the start.

Anyway, not done much today apart from work, and we all just watched Line of Duty Death in Paradise

Was just a scale and polish with the hygienist tonight. Hate the noise the descaling thing makes though. Anyway, hopefully done for another six months. Took Helen’s advice though and flossed with Aramis and opened wide. And yes, he can definitely multi-wench.

Beautiful sunsets here too. I pointed one out the other evening to DS1. He did not share in the wonder of nature.

Homework finished about 10 minutes ago which went without incident but took bloody ages. I’m a bit of a tired person so I’m definitely having an early night.

Wildlife status is 'Frozen to their perches'. Not much flying about yet - other than, potentially, me on the ice this morning. Though I didn't.
