Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

That’s the thing with a 90 minute episode - you have to start watching it quite early —especially if you don’t want to go to bed straight after—

Shopping with DS2 went painlessly. Quite a lazy afternoon. Am partway through watching Susan Hill’s Ghost Story but need to get ready for a bit of a party at parents’ house to celebrate dad’s Big Birthday.

ApricotCrush · 11/01/2020 17:32

Evening. Had a dreadful night with an upset stomach. I did tuna pasta bake and the pasta might have been five years out of date Shock, but it can't have been that because DH was okay. Hmm

Best line from Dracula for me:
Dracula: They can't even look me in the eye.
Sister Agatha: You're naked. They're nuns. It's not your eye they're not looking at. Grin

Will look for Gone Wrong Show, never heard of it. I forgot to record Susan Hill's Ghost Story, will have to look for that too.

Have a lovely time at the party LetUs and Happy Big Birthday to your DF.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/01/2020 18:22

I want to see Dracula too but it's on Netflix here.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/01/2020 18:56

Poor you Apes Sad

Have fun Letus Wine

LetUsPrey · 11/01/2020 22:34

Hope you’re feeling better now Apricot. Gentle

Loved that line from Dracula too Grin

Definitely had fun - there was family and vodka. Back home now and having a Brew

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2020 22:53

Evening.

Bleurgh apricot Sad Hope you've got an early night and feel better tomorrow.

How was the party LetUs?

We've been watching Men In Black 3, which I didn't know existed, but was much better than MiB International (though Thor was providing the pretty in the latter.) Currently watching MoTD Liverpool are doing footbally things.

Morning wenches.

Party was excellent and dad had a great time.

Must give MIB International a watch.

Need to empty the washing machine, get dressed and crack on with the ironing. I’ll try to keep a lid on the excitement Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/01/2020 10:25

Morning. Nice lazy start to the morning - apart from the bit where DS came in for snuggle at 5:30, which was nice, but a bit early.

I must crack on with house tidying

Morning
Had a fit of spring cleaning fever yesterday and deep cleaned a bathroom Confused. Then rewarded myself with pink wine and Love & Friendship in the evening. Have been meaning to watch that film for ages, but kept missing it. Very enjoyable and beautiful to look at. Dasly no real faf.

ApricotCrush · 12/01/2020 16:59

Afternoon. Nice day, nothing much done here, but Fancy has inspired me with her spring cleaning and I think I'll make a start tomorrow I won't.

DS brought his DC round this afternoon. We don't see much of them and haven't really got a relationship with them now; it's always difficult after a split. Sad

We started Deadwater Fell last night; David Tennant and Matthew McNulty are in it. It's good, but there's a lot of time skipping and you don't know where you are. They tell you when they're going back in time but don't tell you when you're back to the present. I wish they wouldn't do it. Confused

LetUsPrey · 12/01/2020 18:16

Evening wenches.

Ironing, washing, bit of tidying. Not got the energy for much more at the moment. Tried the Christine Keeler programme earlier. Gave up after nearly two episodes and some fast forwarding. There was lots of that time skipping stuff as you describe Apricot in that. Agree it’s very confusing. Tried the Mary Queen of Scots film. Couldn’t settle to that either.

re DGC Apricot

I think I definitely need an early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/01/2020 20:33

Evening. Sad Apricot - that's rough. I hope it was a nice visit anyway?

I didn't deep clean a bathroom today, but I did clean out the chicken coop and clear the dining table enough to be able to eat off it... Hmm That doesn't sound like an overly productive day. Then I cooked tea. No idea what else I've done with the day today. Didn't watch anything, though DS has a star wars film on now - the one where Anakin has a strop and puts a bucket on his head... All the fades are bloody annoying and intrusive. Angry I've heard good things about Deadwater Fell - no idea if we'll get to watch it though. We have loads on the box still to watch, without adding more! And the timeskipping thing in programmes only really works when it's obvious (changing hairstles etc) otherwise it's just confusing and irritating...

Anyway. Um... yes. That's me.
(Dear God the acting is bad in this film... though the footwork is quite good in the fight scenes and now Yoda is doing the 'bouncing off the walls' thing while he fights - and speaks all his words out of order.)

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 12/01/2020 22:09

That sounds fairly productive Helen.

I know what you mean about some of the acting too.

We’re watching something called The Mallorca Files. It’s quite fun.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/01/2020 22:39

Morning wenches.

I do feel my brain looks at those pictures and my subconscious folds it arms and says “nope” whilst laughing.

Not as dark today but it is apparently quite chilly.

Suppose I’d better get a move on.

FancyFancy · 13/01/2020 09:19

Morning
Hmmm, I'm thinking of watching that Christine Keeler programme, doesn't sound promising letus. Agree with apricot, too much time skipping makes it hard to follow.
I watched that Mary Queen of Scots film over the holidays, it seemed rather erm...Found Mary irritating, rather liked Elizabeth.

FancyFancy · 13/01/2020 09:24

Some Monday morning faf, because we're worth it.

Double Vronsky Blush Ah well, there are worse mistakes Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2020 10:16

Pfft - that's not my FAF...Grin

Feeling rather groggy today - woke up and packed DS off to school, collapsed back in bed for 5 minutes... yep. I've just got up again Blush Kept waking up and the falling back to sleep immediately, despite having bedroom curtains open and sun streaming in.

Today's task is to deal with the issue of my laptop which is till on Windows 7, and if I keep using it then I will lose all the folders of FAF and the world will end - or that was the general jist of things according to the news.

Also, Inconvenient Cat is yowling his head off up here and demanding that I feed him - never mind that there is a bowl full of food that I gave him earlier downstairs already. Unless I'm misreading the situation and he's really telling me that Little Timmy Houdini Hen is in the well ditch and needs to be rescued. Who knows. I don't speak Cat...

Last night's (or this morning's) subconscious effort involved me in an airport with DS in a pushchair (timeslip ahoy!) trying to book a flight to Scotland without knowing the actual date I needed to go Hmm and a small girl playing wit her blanket which turned her into a pantomime horse when she threw it over helrferl. Really - WTF? Though, also it's a possible 'make-me-a-million' plan - I'm sure there's a market for that if I could just figure out how to re-write the laws of physics and reality it worked...

Afternoon. Horrible day here, so obviously no spring cleaning done, as expected.

I dreamed I was visiting my mother Confused who had the most gorgeous grey kitten. I want one now.

That's a worry about the laptop Helen. I think we're on Windows 10, but I'd better check. Hmm

We're still watching Christine Keeler. It is a bit slow, but James Norton is very good as Stephen Ward slowly unravelling.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2020 20:15

Nice sunny morning here, up until the washing was done and then it clouded over - typical.

Today's exciting achievement was that I put all the boxes of Christmas decorations away until December. And I've been doing laptop stuff... So yet again I'm a bit stumped about what I've been doing with myself for most of the day. Hmm

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2020 20:17

Also, I used to have a gorgeous grey kitten/cat. He was the best. Though of course Stupid and Inconvenient Cats are also the best.

Evening wenches. Bloody awful weather here too. Wipers on full pelt on the way home.

The FAF was extremely welcome at work today Fancy. I’ll just ponder that

You obviously needed the rest Helen. Not surprising after that completely bonkers dream! I bet if you noted down everything you did, you’d have quite a long list

I started looking for images of grey kittens and got lost in their complete and absolute cuteness.

GP appointment for DS2 went well.

DH wants to watch ep1 of the new series of SEAL Team. Not sure I can be arsed.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/01/2020 21:40

Did someone say grey kitten? Smile
