Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

I saw Love and Friendship recently - can't particularly remember that erm, feature of the costumes. Mind you, I didn't find the men especially faf so I didn't look too closely.

LetUsPrey · 16/01/2020 07:43

Morning wenches. at wall to wall FAF. I might rewatch Dracula. It’ll probably take me about a month.

Thanks for the NCIS heads up. Hadn’t realised the new series had started over here. First episode downloaded and rest set to record.

I think I was looking at the beautiful clothes and sets in that film.

When is it going to get noticeably lighter in a morning? (I realise I could look this up myself but then I wouldn’t be able to complain as much)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/01/2020 08:00

I expect you were both distracted by the plot as well - that's why you didn't notice the costumes being over-tight Wink

It is getting lighter now - this week (when not tipping it down with rain) I've been able to fed the chickens straight after the school run rather than wait until it's light enough. Hurrah!!!

Wildlife report - about 50 swans-a-flying (in batches). Wonder which poor farmer is having his fields trashed. Confused

Morning wenches, how are you all? I'm just dropping in to have a good moan.

We live next door to the fucking Bacons and they are taking the royal piss at the moment. 3 days of noisy landscape gardening work that they can mysteriously afford despite refusing to contribute half the cost of felling an absolutely massive and patently dangerous tree, despite it being slap bang on the boundary, 3 days of having random trades park vans on my drive and 2 nights where they've parked their own trucks there for absolutely no fucking reason and one of them is still there, I can't even turn in to park after dropping the kids. They're ignoring the door, and I've got someone arriving in a few minutes that will need the space. Raaaarghhh!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/01/2020 11:00

Block the bastards in. Fuckwits.

And stock up on FAF in the meantime?

Afternoon all. Thoroughly miserable day here.

Will read that thread when I have time WW. Love and Friendship has passed me by I'm afraid.

Hope the cats have been able to get outside today Fancy.

Elk, that is so incredibly rude, I hate that sort of thing. I hope they've gone away now. As Helen says, block them in and don't answer your door. Angry

The mornings have gone back by all of 8 mins since their darkest LetUs and will go back another 17 by the end of the month. It's a slow process. Sad On the other hand we're half an hour lighter in the afternoon. Smile

We have DGS staying tonight as they're going out. I'm not used to getting him ready for school. Shock

LetUsPrey · 16/01/2020 19:43

Evening wenches. Yes, the plot was obviously what distracted me. Always getting over interested in plot.

Horrid weather here too. Thank you for the daylight will eventually arrive update Grin

What complete fuckers Elk. I third blocking them in and ignoring them. Twats.

Upper back went this morning just as I was setting off for work. Usually eases off quite quickly but today it didn’t improve until mid-afternoon. Fortunately I’m off for a sports massage on Saturday.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/01/2020 19:43

Oh lord - good luck apricot - school mornings are always slightly chaotic, even when you have a routine Grin

Cats are being a bit daft here still, though they have been out. I emptied the mouse trap today; Inconvenient Cat immediately went out and brought a fresh one in, decapitated it, and left the remains on the dining room floor Hmm

FancyFancy · 16/01/2020 23:57

Evening

What bastards elk Block then in then get hammered so you're too drunk to move your car any excuse

Good luck for the morning apricot!

Neither cat has been out much, ScaredyCat has so much energy she pounces on me in bed

LetUsPrey · 17/01/2020 07:52

Morning wenches.

If only ScaredyCat was an HBF Fancy

Hope all is serene and peaceful ChezApricot and DGS gets out of bed when he’s told —unlike DS2– —or DS1 for that matter—

My eyes are playing up again. Beautiful.

Right. Breakfast.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/01/2020 07:56

More of the same here - daft cats and dark mornings, plus usual assortment of swans, ducks, pigeons and geese. Inconvenient Cat got bored and explored the shower room - I found him on top of the cistern, peering into the sink and up at the shelf... Confused at least the toilet lid was down Grin

Laters... TFI and all that.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/01/2020 08:07

I read that as InconvenientCat was on top of the cistern, peeing into the sink at first. Grin

ApricotCrush · 17/01/2020 17:29

Afternoon. I didn't have to deal with DGS after all. DD arrived at 7.15, let herself in and set the burglar alarm off. Scared the life out of me, I was still asleep. So was DGS. Shock

Grin at InconvenientCat peeing in the sink. Eeek at decapitated mouse.

Hope your eyes are alright LetUs.

Wine for wenches. Have a good evening all.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/01/2020 19:50

TFIF WineWineWine

LetUsPrey · 17/01/2020 20:19

Evening wenches.

That must have been quite the fright Apricot! Eyes have been better today.

I’ll take one of those Wine thanks Wicked.

I’m watching Secret Scotland. It’s Glasgow this week. I love it, it’s such a beautiful city.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/01/2020 22:47

Evening all. I have been out playing badminton and getting knackered.

Honestly Apricot - what was DD thinking? Does she not know you have an alarm?! (she does now!)

LOL at peeing in the sink. He is currenlty sleeping (that's SLEEPING) on the sofa...

We have been giggling hysterically at Goes Wrong Show.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/01/2020 23:09

I watched the pilot episode with DS2 Helen. Much giggling here also Grin

We’ve watched new series NCIS. It’s season 248 —and Gibbs is looking a bit old—

I should head to the chateau.

LetUsPrey · 18/01/2020 09:24

Morning wenches.

Woke up at 6, went to the loo, then went into a really deep sleep with weird dreams, woke up, deep sleep weird dreams. And now I feel all discombobulated.

Massage this morning. I may need longer than an hour.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/01/2020 11:42

Morning. I fear that DH did not count his chickens when he shut them in last night. I went to let them in to the outer run this morning, and got met by Houdini hen. She is not that much of a Houdini that she could have got out of the coop, so I suspect she has spent the night hiding in a hedge, Oh well. No harm done.

My bonkers Dream involved shopping at a Toy R Us type of shop and then picking up a lot of free sports kit that someone had left there for whoever wanted it. Odd. Other than that, I have had a nice long lie-in and ought to be productive now. The weather is rather pleasant so that will probably involve faffing about online being outside.

God luck with the massage LetUs - I must get something regular booked in to sort out my shoulders...

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/01/2020 15:30

Well, DH swears that he counted the chickens in, so maybe Houdini escaped when he fed them this morning seems unlikely

I have been digging up couch grass - tedious but wonderfully satisfying when you pull out a long root intact.

Massage was fab. Shoulder in particular is much improved.

Ordered some new sunglasses and did a bit more shopping. Have also been making the most of today’s sunshine —by sitting inside and not doing much—

Have you checked HoudiniHen for a key? Lock picks? Teleport device?

I’m watching The Mallorca Files. It makes Death in Paradise look like Line of Duty but it’s easy entertainment Grin —and the lead man is quite hot—

ApricotCrush · 18/01/2020 18:10

Evening. Yes, DD does know we have an alarm, she just assumed that at 7.15 we would be up, which to be honest we usually are. Hmm

Well, I spent the morning trying to sort things out which people can't get right. Stuff ordered which hasn't arrived, the dental insurance company which has the wrong address for us although we have always lived here since we took it out, fielding telephone calls from scammers.

Oh, poor HoudiniHen locked out of her coop. Sad

Glad your shoulder is better LetUs.
