TenderheartBear · 28/09/2007 21:40

hello
so i guess we all found each other on fb now then!!!!
as i told jennster earlier, i felt a bit geeky when they ask how you met and i couldnt quite bring myself to write on the net really!! it sounds a bit wierd. although it doesnt really feel like its a chat room for some reason.

hope your all good, im looking forward to going shopping tomorrw, i need to get ds2 some jumpers as i have lots of things i brought in the sales and put aside but nothing really warm enough for now, and seeings as it has been freezing this week i better get him some winter clothes.

and as its payday, im going to get a fireguard to ut round the storage heaters as its getting a bit nippy in the morning and we need a bit of warmth me thinks

TenderheartBear · 28/09/2007 21:43

p.s doany of you get your chimmney swept? i've just booked someone and its £40, i thought it would be about £20?? but we only use one chimmney, good job we dont use the other, or should we still get it swept?? oh my god that would be £80, i cant afford that just yet, i have ds1's birthday party to save for, then xmas ,,,,,

Jennster · 28/09/2007 23:43

No real fires in our house I'm afraid so no idea how much that sort of thing costs. Have put the heating on though.

Just been the latest big bag of clothes for DD from a neighbour. 3 fleeces, a wooly hooded jumper, a jacket and a furry gillet...a few pairs of trousers and dresses. All in perfect condition no stains probably only worn a handful of times. It's GREAT. DD better dressed than me! Thing is she only wears a few things over and over again. The fleeces are 9-12 months but fit her fine.

Definitely a nip in the air now.

Macdog · 29/09/2007 10:04

Hurrah!!
We are child-free this weekend!!
dd away to PIL till Sunday .
We dropped her off last night, waited till she was in bed then did a runner!
Got VERY drunk and had junk food dinner
HAHAHAHAHAHAH !!!!!

We are taking dogger down to Culzean for a lovely long wild walk. Really cold, but I love getting all wrapped up in layers.

dh's eye nearly normal again (thank goodness) and at least it looks human again!

OP posts:
JoanWilder · 29/09/2007 15:36

yep jenn my dd is 15mths now but still in 9-12 mth trousers, the others are too big round her middle

enjoy your weekends folks...dh currently lapping up the football results and tomorrow Im working...

dd asleep after a short walk. Bliss!

THB your pics on FB are amazing, ds2 is soo tiny compared to ds1!!

JoanWilder · 29/09/2007 15:36

btw dd was 22lbs last week, mil weighed her.
That is 10kg!

TenderheartBear · 29/09/2007 22:09

thankyou jw, ds2 also still in 9-12 months and he's 15 months too. i got him some lovely jumpers from H&M today in size 9-12 months as things i got in the sale in size 12-18 are still to big, and as its a bit cooler he really needed something warmer than his t shirt and coat.

ds1 also got a new jumper and tshrt, he picked a hat and gloves with skulls all over them, he suddenly looks really big and menacing! it dawned on me a few days ago that when i was his age (he is 9 in nov) i was allowed to walk to the shop myself and play out, call for my friends up the road, and he doesnt do any of that, so we have decided to let him walk to the shop himself, he only has to cross the road right in front of our house and then doesnt have to cross again, it is literally round the corner.
i knwo times have changed abit scince we were younger, but i kind of think im not doing him any favours keeping him locked up, so when he did take the dvd back for me, i felt really sick!!! and was like a woman posessed waiting for him to turn up again!!!
but he will be moving up to middle school next year so i have a year to get used to my baby being a bit more grown up. he has 6 and a bit years before he leaves school if he wants to ()not that i will let him, he has to do hi alevels!! i have told him) and as 9 years has flown by it will be here sooner than i know it.

sorry thats along post!!! you can go back to sleep now!!!
unless youre macdog and out partying somewhere with no child in tow!!! lush

Jennster · 29/09/2007 23:42

I started typing a post and then dinner, bath, bed, wine happened. oops.

Macdog · 30/09/2007 19:17

Party over now
dd home again

OP posts:
Jennster · 30/09/2007 20:29

children in bed [phew]

dinner in tummy

wine in glass

nowt on box

JoanWilder · 01/10/2007 15:53

oh, THB, its hard letting them go but blimey you're right it does them no good to be locked away, the daily mail the other day said children need to be exposed to minor risks every so often (ie. walking alone to the shops) it helps them gain confidence and to learn how to act if a dodgy situation did crop up...things arent quite so bad as they seem it's just the media are focussing on violence,,
I wasnt allowed to cross the road by our house till I was 12 and it definatley did me more harm than good, I was scared to go alone by then

JoanWilder · 01/10/2007 15:55

oh yeah, how annoying is this...finally remembered to get pre-crushed/prepared garlic in a little jar as have wanted some for ages but kept forgetting, use garlic a lot but hate to prepare it all...
only to find it was a jar of bloody GINGER for chinese cooking...that'll sit in the cupboard for the next 10 yrs then...

Jennster · 01/10/2007 16:46

JW, lazy ginger is great with spring onions soy sauce on salmon when you steam it. Serve with salad and brown rice or quinoa (you've GOT to cook it with stock cube or it's tasteless) and some hoseradish sauce diluted 50:50 with natural greek yoghurt. Yum yum and VERY low fat.

Jennster · 01/10/2007 16:58

teaspoon lazy ginger, crushed garlic and finely chopped chilli with a load of flat leafed parsley finely chopped, fry gently in olive oil, chuck in a couple of tins of tuna and a jar of passata, salt, pepper and half a teaspoon of sugar. Cook to thicken a little and stir through spaghetti.

Jennster · 01/10/2007 17:04

Weigh in tonight JW? All that talk of food making me starving. I've been really good today, but suspect I've lost no weight yet.

TenderheartBear · 01/10/2007 21:08

i got some lazy garlic a few weeks ago and i've just about finished the jar, i also got some garlic butter in a tub which is lovely on french stick.
theres nothing on tv tonight, not that takes my fancy anyway,
im going to try and book us to go to www.laplanduk.co.uk as we cant afford the real thing, the weekends have all gone so im going to have to take ds1 out of school for a day, which i generally dont agree with but i dont think he will believe for much longer..
