Remember on Wed I mentioned The Real Macdog had cut his paw, so I walked 7 miles to get antiseptic powder, causing extreme pain and hobbling...?
Well....

Ruddy thing turned septic (his paw, not me!)
Rushed him to Vet last night cos I opened his kennel and his paw was all swollen !!
Took me and 2 other people to hold him down for the Vet to put in 2 stitches under a local.
Was there for ages.
He has now got cardboard 'ruff' on and I will post pic soon cos he looks really daft
Obviously now I've spent £40 on Vet fees he feels ever so much better

dh working tomorrow, so dd and I off for our usual walk round Glasgow.
Hope you all having good weekends

hello every one, i could hardly walk thursday after we trapsed round london all day weds. we had a bit of a disaster though, my 3wheeler broke when we went to the bewilderwood adventures place on tues (it was nearly 7 years old as it was ds1's)and so dp decided we would "just get a new one" the next day in london, well we went to oxford st and 2 hours later we managed to get a quinny. we went in john lewis, selfridges, mothercare and the only place that had one we could take there and then was john lewis. our arms were burning by the time we got it and put ds2 init , as holding him up for so long was agony. i wish i had just brought the backpack i had been looking at a few weeks ago. would have saved time and then my beloved 3wheeler wouldnt have broken either.
oh well...

worleyhurley · 01/09/2007 22:58

so thursday we traveled down to a travelodge near reading so we could get up bright and early to go legoland on friday. it took us 2 hours to drive 7.5 miles!!! it was packed. we got to legoland, watched a watershow they put on and i looked at ds1 who looked really ill. he said he felt sick and was boiling so we decided to go home, but as we stood waiting for the hill traine to take us back up to the exit he was sick everywhere!!! poor babby. he was really upset, he has been waiting for ages to be able to get to legoland and then was ill. we were only there for 1 1/2 hours!! he must have picked a bug up, but we are all fine.

we are going to pleasure wood hills on tuesday, the last day of holiday before the new term so at least he should be feeling better by then, we hope!!

Jennster · 02/09/2007 09:35

Oh dear worley. Hope ds is better soon. Dd was off colour all day yesterday but seems ok today. We here yesterday afternoon and dd paddled in the river in her enormous wellies. Today we are going to Southport to see my ma and pa but am going to Matalan first on the way, as ds has grown out of all his 0-3 month clothes.

Dizzy health visitor forgot to bring scales when she came on Thursday so still no idea what he weighs. 'But I measured him last time didn't I?' she said 'erm no actually not since mw did it at 11 days' 'oh, but you can take him to baby clinic can't you?' 'yes but I don't think I'll bother. I'll wait 'til his 8 week check. He's def putting on weight' 'oh' She didn't know what to say. I flummoxed her.

Jennster · 02/09/2007 09:38

And what a visitor to your garden Macdog! My mum had a bird of prey in her garden recently. Will find out what it was. She has a small garden too. She has field mice that live near the bird food she puts out.

Hope the real Macdog is recovering.

Rain here this morning. Glad we got out for a walk yesterday.

Jennster · 02/09/2007 22:35

Forgot to ask her.

Bought dd one of these for dd for christmas. It arrived on Friday. It's a rocker and a rolling toy. I bought ds a walking trolley with bricks from the same people. REALLY that's it, no more presents but for the duvet and pillows for dd. Think we might take the side off her cot at the same time.

Getting these blackboard napkin rings for my aunt and uncle, my cousin and her husband, my mil and my brother's girlfriend.... and this for my mum.

How sad am I that I start thinking about Chrismas so early.

My god I am tired. Really need som sleep. Have stinking cold with banging headache, horrid cough and bulging eyes. DS been asleep since 8.30! Am going to gently wake him up change his nappy and go to sleep! Britains favourite view? My bed with nice clean cool linen.

Jennster · 03/09/2007 14:34

Oh my. DS exploded his nappy just before we went to town this morning, so we finally get out of the house and I find they've changed the bus stop, but I couldn't work out where it was. So then we got on the bus and a lovely man helped me on. Then I realised I'd forgotten to put breast pads in my bra, so got off the bus early outside what used to be a baby shop to buy some reusable breast pads and it's closed down. So next stop Superdrug where they have sold out of breast pads. So next stop Boots where they are on the top floor and I'm in tears at this point and desperate for the loo and realise I've got a flipping period and all the breast pads cost a fortune (I've stocked up on them on offer at Tesco at the moment) and refuse to buy expensive ones so buy the shitty ones that barely cover your nipple, so now I'm looking for a loo and a cafe and realise that the loos in the cafes are all on different floors with no lifts and I haven't eaten much so I'm getting narky and then DH rings and I can't answer because I've got my hands full, and when I get to ring him back I can't get through so I try again in 5 mins and he doesnt answer and then doesn't ring back for 10 in which time I've started walking home because I can't face folding the buggy and finding the return bus stop.......Any way. He picks me up, cooks me lunch and gives me a big hug.

Jennster · 03/09/2007 14:35

So I had forgotten how I get with PMT...

PenelopePissedup · 03/09/2007 16:18

PenelopePissedup · 03/09/2007 16:19

(fully dressed..just had lunch too...)

PenelopePissedup · 03/09/2007 16:20

:-(

PenelopePissedup · 03/09/2007 16:21

I used to be 11 stone all the time without even trying

I used to work full time (about 44hours p/w)

now I work 17hrs and am knackered

Is this all due to having a baby or am I getting old???????????

Jennster · 03/09/2007 21:32

Just weighed myself after evening meal. 12st 11. Right what is our target for next monday? 3lb off?

Feel much better now. When you've had a nap everything seems so much better.

worleyhurley · 03/09/2007 22:07

goog god penelope, not only are our dd/ds2 about the same weight we are too!! im 13st on a good day, 13st 4-5lb on a bad pre pms day.

last week i brought one tree hill, from ebay, to watch the episode from a series they refused to show on E4, i havnt got round to watchiing it as yet, and then this evening i discover they have bloody shown it tonight on tv. so now will i be able to sell it again once i've watched it all???

off to pleasurewood hills tomorrow for ds1's last day of freedom before he starts his first day back at school. his new teacher used to be a vet i worked with about 13 years ago, so it will be weird going to parents teacher eve with her!!

PenelopePissedup · 04/09/2007 15:06

3lbs off seems tough in a week? or is that a normal weight loss with a careful eating plan?

Anyhoo its by the by as we are away for a week next week to spend time with my parents in Onich, Scotland.

So my next weigh-in will be the Monday afterwards ...6lb off by then?
unlikely as my mum encourages me to drink lots of wine when Im with her,,,but I will be walking up and down their hill so maybe it is achievable...

today it is so sunny and breezy, perfect washing-line-drying weather

PenelopePissedup · 04/09/2007 15:07

worley put a pic of yourself up, so we can see your mush. Then we'll have all our mushes on together, as t'were!

PenelopePissedup · 04/09/2007 15:07

I like the theme song from One Tree Hill, but could never get into the characters, the OC always seemed a better bet.

Macdog · 04/09/2007 17:11

Hello all!
Had "issues" with 'puter having all sorts of baddies lurking again.
Hopefully all sorted for a while now

Macwoof paw getting better slowly. He has to be walked on a lead until his stitches come out on Monday, so that's a flippin' nightmare as well.

I'll catch up soon

Jennster · 04/09/2007 23:05

Yay we're no longer faceless.

Just spent 3 hours trying to get ds down for the night. Since we've been trying to get him into an evening routine and down at the same time as dd, he's been waking 2-3 times in the night.

I'm knackered. I don't remember it being this tough last time. He went down like a dream on Sunday night and I thought BRILL. Less well last night and tonight
