In light of the tragic events that happened here this week I feel so helpless and so I thought if I could just bring the subject up and get you all to check then at least I feel I would have done something!

Was going to just bump but actually, on looking at my new fire angel I was wondering, can I put it on a bedside lamp type lamp or does it have to be hanging from the ceiling? Presume it is more effective if on ceiling as smoke rises etc, but we have only spotlights on ceiling (did not think of this... grrr).

Any advice gratefully received.

you still there? am having loft conversion done, starting next week. have asked builder fellas to make sure there is a mains connected smoke alarm in loft room.

Hi hun, yep still here in body but maybe not in mind, good idea about alarm in loft, oh I dont envy you on the builders in and out all day long though. Drives me mad that does.

Thats not bad, we had an extension built upstairs (had a dormer-bungalow) and it took forever, the dust was terrible. Going without hot water is not at all funny though especially when you have little ones, do you have family locally so you can use their facilities short term, you can guarantee that it will be longer than that once they get started though.
