There is one thing i want to be able to do more than anything but i am stopping myself doing it.
I would love to be able to drive.
The world and his wife and do it so why the hell do i have this unrational fear of taking the plunge and booking lessons?
I had lessons a long time ago when i was 17 and had a horrible and impatient instructor ,she would tut and sigh and screech at me so i did the only thing i could and changed instructors and the new one was great but i gave up as i wasn't progressing as i had no confidence in myself(instructor agreed with me).About 2 years ago my parent's started taking me out in their car and i did quite well but then i just stopped and never picked it up or followed it on with lessons.
So fast forward 14 years and i still am a non driver.

It makes me feel so so embarrassed,it limits my career and my social life so why oh why am such a wimp?
I know that noone else can do it for me but i really do have a .......what i can only decribe as a head f* over this
I know that part of problem is that if i am being watched when im doing something then i just mess it up.
HELP

pfnm i know a wonderful instructor in kiddy if you want his number. very reasonsable too. sometimes he even does 2 hour lessons for the price of 1 hour just cos he feels like going somewhere i knew. i imagine it gets boring going to the same places all the time!!

also sorry for the hijack but trying to arrange a meet so come on over here

Littlefish · 18/03/2007 13:32

Pelvic - I've only just found this thread.

I also know a lovely female driving instructor. I used to teach her daughter and knew her quite well, so I can vouch for her lovely calm, kind nature. I think she works for BSM. Do you want me to try and find out her phone number?

Beauregard · 18/03/2007 20:19

Thanks guys
Yes would be grateful for both number's please, will come in handy if it doesn't work out with this bloke.

his name is mike slynn and his number is 07774421652. i think its about £18 a lesson.

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 21:09

btw who was the "nasty" instructor? and who is you're starting with? how much are lessons. sorry for all the questions! my cousin is looking for an instructor at the moment but doesn't want the same instructor as me. (i think she's scared he'll tell me if she's rubbish!!)

Beauregard · 18/03/2007 22:29

Thanks
The nasty instructor was Heather.
The potentially nice one is Glyn Ellis Jones.

oh, pelvicfloornomore, you are me that was (if that makes sense). I was so scared of driving.

I am 37. I've had my prov. licence for 20 years but never had a driving lesson until last June. Had to force myself to do it. Loved it from the off and now I've passed the worlds my oyster (and all that).
If I can do it - so can you

Beauregard · 19/03/2007 12:29

Thanks Winnie
