So sad to hear about Zombie tonight & cant find a new thread now that the keep the home fires thread is full?

Such a wonderful woman who will be missed by so so many people.

Morning! I woke up at 5, DS2 woke up at 6, had coco pops, he's playing Angry Birds Star Wars, I'm ignoring Monty Don.

I get up at 4.05 Malcolm because once I'm awake I take about an hour to get back to sleep! I manage it by going to bed early, much more achievable now that I eat with the DC.

I can't manage chocolate cake Sassy but

Plenty of has been consumed and I have also eaten one of the chocolate brownies DD1 made. Yummy!

My hat is off to you, Bath, I managed to get to sleep by about 10.30 last night, but still was sooooo tired this morning.

However, on the plus side, I have got LOADS done!!! All ironing done, bottles sterilised, kitchen cleaned, sink Zoflora'd and two loads of washing. 🌟😂 On the down side, I suspect that by 2 or 3pm I'll be seriously flagging!!!

Glad you're feeling better, Sassy. Late nights etc take me much longer to get over too, now. I can remember when 2/3am was the norm on a Friday and Saturday night! Now that sounds like torture!!!

I can see that we are coming near the end of this thread. Would you like us to start another one in Other Subjects so that we can continue? I personally love chatting with you both!

That would be lovely Malcolm I think we need to metaphorically blow out the candle on this thread and get it to the end and thank Zombie for bringing so many very different people together through her kindness and inspiration! But yes, it would be really loving to keep on chatting with you two (& anyone else who wants to). I would miss you both otherwise and I def want to know how BathsLad is doing.

As a complete aside Malcolm are you still loving your hair? Randomly found myself wondering if you brush had turned up the other day!

DD came back, they're in bed, watching Come Dine for 5 minutes, then unloading washing machine, then washing up, then bed at 8.20.

Yes Sassy it's a vain attempt to get enough sleep. DH was out yesterday and I had to stay awake to turn the hallway light out when DD went to sleep. She's been away for 2 days and developed a fear of the dark!

Bath, I'm fairly sure that the very first square I ever crocheted is in the blanket going to BathsLad. In the middle is a red flower, made in a colour called 'Lipstick'. I specifically chose it because of Candy. It feels like fate that it's coming your way. I can't tell you how moved I am that it's in that particular blanket. Here is a picture of it.

I will start a new thread for us, I'm so glad you guys want to carry on! I know how to copy and paste a link, (I think!) but not sure how to change it so it says "new link HERE" rather than just the full http stuff. Anyone know? I'm using the iPhone app if that makes any difference!

Sassy, I am indeed still loving the hair! You asking has made me realise I have failed completely in my promise to post before and after pictures! DD1 is in France now and I'm not sure I trust anyone else to take a decent photo so it might have to wait until the weekend 😂...

You inspired me to learn how to crochet and I am so, so grateful. It's something that brings me so much joy and allows me to share that joy with others. Your Candy's Hugs are bringing comfort and love to others and will continue to do so. That is truly an amazing legacy.

I wish I had known you better, but I will think of you whenever I pick up a crochet hook, or make something in the bright colours you loved.
