People who post on these - you are aware that your posts can be read by people who aren't "on" your threads, right?

Because some of you are pretty offensive and dim otherwise.

I'm NOT slagging off the threads as such. Obv blah-blah it's nice to speak to people with babies the same age, etc.

Read the OP again.

Nice talk Bendy!

Once again will explain to those not grasping PUBLIC forum - meaning that all topics, threads and the like are open to everyone, therefore if someone takes an interest they can comment and "stick their nose in" wherever they want... if they want to comment on there then it clearly is their business.

MSN is for the conv that you don't want random people talking on.

Is my spelling ok???

BENDYB · 26/02/2007 11:23

YES FFS WE KNOW WHAT PUBLIC FORUM MEANS! WHAT WE R SAYING IS WHY DO PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO BE SO BITCHY BOUT THINGS ON HERE?

YEAH FAIR ENOUGH IF SOMEONE IS TAKING A GENUINE INTEREST BUT WHAT IS THE POINT OF GOING ONTO A THREAD WHICH REALLY IS NOT RELEVANT TO YOU & LECTURING PEOPLE ON HOW 2 BRING UP THEIR CHILDREN? & THEN STARTING A WHOLE THREAD ON IT & BASICALLY SLAGGING US OFF & TAKIN THE PISS???

I can't help but feel that BENDYB's shouty, badly spelled, internet breakdown is doing NOTHING for her cause.

As I understand it cod:

Lots of talk about weaning on a postnatal thread where the babies are 4 months old

Hunker posts basically, did you know that you don't need to wean until 6 months if you don't want, 6 months being the recommended guidelines. It was a polite post.

It went t*ts up from there really ...

perhaps we should just have a button for without postnatal/antenatal threads - loads of people seem only to use those boards and no other part of the chat site

surely we don't need the 'no chat' bit anymore? doesn't everyone read active convos with chat now?

There followed lots of sarky comments about how it was a good job there were oldie mners around to tell them what to do - er, missing the point?

Hunker started a separate thread reminding people that if they criticise other mners, even on their postnatal/antenatal thread, it can and will be read by others, so best to keep those criticisms to email/msn

I really, really don't see why everyone has got so upset ....

I am a realative newby here, and the posts that went onto that thread from the 'regulars' seemed sensible, measured and informative as far as I could see. Had I been considering weaning at 4 months I would have been happy to better informed. The response to the advice was hostile. It mentioned hyjacking. But it is a public forum and was relevent advice.

Sorry ladies, but I'm with Hunker

it's happened before though cod

MyNamesNotDaveItsRodney · 26/02/2007 11:28

But it seems to be that you're getting upset that a non-postnataler came on to comment! I have seen the thread - it was originally commented on a) over concern for harming developing guts (which all develop at the same rate) and b) to support any mothers who might be feeling pressure to wean early - which I felt so it DOES exist.

You lot were the ones that got your knickers in a twist!
