Evening all.
Apologies for radio silence but I've been a bit meh.
I rested on Friday / Saturday and recovered from the earlier part of the week. On Sunday I went to my SIL & BIL's annual Decking Party. Sort of like a garden party but mainly taking place on the decking. It was a lovely day for it and a good time was had.
My best friend's father died last week. His cremation was today. A and her daughter C flew over from Dublin. A flies back tomorrow and C is coming to stay with me for about 10 days. She's going to help me get a grip on the house. A will fly back here on the 16th and then they'll both return to Dublin on the 19th. It's been a very, very long time since I spent much 1 to 1 time with a nearly 18 yo. C has Aspergers and is very forthright! It should be interesting.
My niece is also coming over on Sunday. Bringing currently on on again / off again boyfriend with her.
I'm taking everyone out for Sunday lunch at the pub in the next village.
The vet has rung and Gemma's ashes are ready for collection. I'll try to do that tomorrow.
This morning I received a reminder e-mail about an Oncology Clinic appointment. I haven't had an appointment letter. The slight problem is that the clinic appointment is for next Thursday, 14 July at 4.00 pm and I will be in the Chemo Day Centre from 2.30 pm receiving my treatment. I spent half an hour on the phone this morning (appointments clerk -> oncologist's secretary -> Chemo Day Centre). The best "plan" we could come up with is for me to report for chemo as usual. CDC will tell the clinic where I am. The oncologist can either come to see me in CDC or she'll at least know I'm going to be late for clinic.
In the course of sorting this, the oncologist's secretary said 1) the clinic appointment had been requested by a 'chemo nurse' and 2) it is noted as a treatment review.
I'm not sure it wouldn't be better to postpone the clinic for a couple of weeks. I don't know if they will even have my CT results by next Thursday. Also I'm not due to get the MRI results until the 21st and those need to be taken into account in any "treatment review".
But what do I know?
