Hello Quootie - thought we should start a new thread.

Will be thinking about you tonight. Hope you can get some rest. Could you try having a bath or something? Can really help me to un-wind.

Hi Quootie,

I have only just spotted the threads. I hope you are ok. I'm so sorry to hear things are so low at the moment. I think you are very brave and have an emense amount to cope with. You are doing briliantly.
I really hope things can start to turn around for you, I always think that once you feel so low things can only get better.
I'm thinking of you Quootie....

Hi Quootie at your mum. She sounds very harsh to me. I'm sorry about that for you.

You attempted suicide before - sorry, didn't know that. Poor you...you've really been through it for someone so young.

Qootie,

Just read this whole thread - so sorry you are dealing with this. Just wanted to say if things get really bad before you see a professional you can always request admission to your local mental health unit. They generally have a reserve of 'beds' for emergency admissions at all times.

This would have the benfit of you being automatically under the 24 hour care of mental health nurses and a psychiatrist as well as access to the clinical psychology team (who would ultimately provide you with psychotherapy or whatever therapeutic intervention was deemed appropriate).

Seems like a big step but as an inpatient you will recieve support immediately whereas as outpatient you will be seen during normal working hours.

If you don't know where your local mental health unit is then a&e would probably be able to help you.

QP, I new that! No need to apologise xxx

KFC, I tried to get any help yesterday - even if I had to get it as an inpatient, but I coudlnt get any. The mnetal health team has closed until 27th, so I rung the crisis number and ALL they offer is over the phone support. Tried GP then, out of hours, who said to just get support from family & friends until the 27th. Im "ok" at the moment, ive been bad enough for A & E before, so I know when I reach that point. Yhing is, im "capable"... so im not sure they'd admit me anyway. I have the diazepam if im bad, then if I get really bad, providing DH is here, ill go to A & E. Im very at the fact the mental health team offer so little support really.

QP, are you trying to make a point?

KentuckyFreudChicken · 24/12/2006 08:11

There will be an inpatient mental health unit in your area somewhere - there has to be for emergency admissions (particularly for enforced admissions ie sectioning).

earlgrey · 24/12/2006 08:12

QP, where abouts are you?

KentuckyFreudChicken · 24/12/2006 08:15

Have you tried 'saneline'..........they can be quite good for help

Quootiepie · 24/12/2006 08:23

oh dear, i dont think i need sectioning! as i said... im "capable". I can do all my normal things.

MN is playing up

im bracknell, berkshire xXx

lulumama · 24/12/2006 09:48

morning....glad you are not with me....glad you appreciate the sentiments behind the straight talking

you absolutely do not need to be sectioned.

you sound like you are holding it together quite well

it's good you could get angry at DH and the docs and mental health team as that nmeans you are not numb....so that is good.....

you can get through the next few days....especially if you try to sleep and eat well....tomorrow will be lovely...DSs first christmas....a wonderufl day for any mum to see

Quootiepie · 24/12/2006 10:02
