A long time ago I admitted that I had on occasion slapped my dd - I was NOT popular

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 15/11/2006 10:08

I have been mauled, chewed up and spat out in owl pellet form more times than I can remember. I like to see it as good practice for standing my ground in real life

LadyMuck · 15/11/2006 10:10

Nah - there is a whole range of subjects where you can instantly offend people. Imagine the worst kind of competitive mum, and then drop a comment which indicates that their efforts may be wasted/misplaced. Then run!

If you've only offended 2 people then you're not trying hard enough.

Oh, and you seem to have missed out capital letters in your punctuation - there is already a gang of wroters on your trail with pitchforks .

Yes, I have. And have had many a name change afterwards too I have a name for sensitive threads that I sometimes post on, and another name for a thread I am on at the minute..

And don't worry about being ridiculed, if they're talking about you then they're leaving somone else alone

flamesparrow · 15/11/2006 10:19

I can only recall the once...

I really should try harder

(Although I did seem to have many concerned people under the impression that I would kill my children if I was suicidal... that seemed to upset em)

Tutter · 15/11/2006 10:19

oh yes a thread of mine from yesterday clearly upset a couple of poeple who may now have noted 'possible child beater' next to my name on their Bad MNers list

WelshBoris · 15/11/2006 10:20

Oh all the time

oliveoil · 15/11/2006 10:23

I don't I have crossed anyone

what have you done/said pollypeachum?

Carmenere · 15/11/2006 10:24

Once or twice but it is soon forgotten(I hope)

KathyMCMLXXII · 15/11/2006 10:25

IMO it's easier to offend people early on, Pollypeachum, as you haven't had a chance to get a sense of what people are ultra-sensitive about. Later on you know and can steer clear (or just pile in happily if you prefer).

Don't know if I've exactly offended anyone recently, but I admitted I was middle class on a thread the other week which made several people decide I was a raging snob and was only doing it to make other people feel inferior.
Whatever

WhizzBangCaligula · 15/11/2006 10:26

Probably loads I think. I don't know.

I don't care.

Oh we did, Pruni. That was when I was very new.
These days I tend to stay off threads where CAM afficionados are talking to each other except when there is someone who clearly isn't yet committed and may still be won over from the Dark Side.

KathyMCMLXXII · 15/11/2006 10:33

LOL at 'We are Millwall.... We don't care' - you must teach me the tune, Caligula.

WhizzBangCaligula · 15/11/2006 10:33

Wot's CAM afficionados?

Dominiconnor must have offended some homeopaths. He had some roaringly funny remark about how religion leaves people open to weak-minded ideas like homeopathy.

Made me larf anyway.

WhizzBangCaligula · 15/11/2006 10:34

You mean you don't know it Kathy??

Blimey, you must be middle class!

Caligula.

CAM=complementary and alternative medicine.

Surely DC has offended everyone. We could have a thread 'Has anyone not been offended by Dominiconnor?'
It has made me really quite fond of him by now.

WelshBoris · 15/11/2006 10:46

I always knew Domini was homeophobic

Heathcliffscathy · 15/11/2006 10:48

ahem

may i remind you (why????) of the suicide bombers thread that I started.

I win.

part of life pissing people off with your opinions ocassionally isn't it? otherwise there wouldn't be opinions, just some homogenised gloop of consensus.
