Oh, fennel, you've rumbled me

Starrmum · 16/11/2006 20:53

I'm a relative newbie too - but have been posting long enough to start to realise that there are definite factions on here.

Probably means that someone is bound to be offended by anything you post!

VanillaMilkshake · 16/11/2006 21:21

My first posting was about not being told about the arrival of my niece by in-laws. Got completely slated on the thread - not one person on my side. But in RL, people who are aware of the family dynamics were 100% behind me...weird, but there you go!

Greensleeves · 16/11/2006 21:32

Well, you can't run a vipers' pit without vipers, that's what I say

3andnomore · 16/11/2006 21:38

Oh well...I know I can be rather unpopular, and sometimes it's getting to me more then others, lol...but...well...if I believe in something then I try to convince others....lol...{blush) , but, heh, I am also willing to learn new stuff and consider new evidence and admit I was wrong, or say sorry if I feel I have gone to far...as usually I know I don't go out to offend, but the moment just takes me...and well, things can be said that one might regrett...I suppose I am human, if not always considerate....

Perigrine · 16/11/2006 21:47

3nomore I regonise your name!!!

Perigrine · 16/11/2006 21:48

And I like you!!!!

vipersister2 · 16/11/2006 23:27

is this really a viper pit? Could I be so lucky?? Anyway, thought I'd explain my v inexperienced take on the site.. I read interesting sounding threads, I form instant opinion and succint[ish] winning argument, I post, I search for new thread. Are you supposed to go back and discover that your word wasn't the last???
Say it ain't so.

KathyMCMLXXII · 17/11/2006 10:51

LOL Vipersister - I once told dh proudly I had 'won an argument' on Mumsnet and then I went back and looked a day or so later and found there was one more post - somebody had simply typed,
'PMSL'.
Couldn't think of an answer to that

MegaLegs · 17/11/2006 10:58

I'm such a coward - I sometimes get all arsey about something and type a reply but never post it.
Could have made myself very unpopular if anyone had followed my advice to put WD40 on their piles on a thread the other day. It still makes me come over all hot! (I meant Preperation H, I have no idea!)

UnquietDad · 17/11/2006 15:56

Oh, I forgot - the other one where I made myself really unpopular was the PFA/PTA clique thread. Several narked people telling me the way to change this was to get involved.

3andnomore · 18/11/2006 16:52

Peregrine...were we on the same side...lol ;)

lulumama · 18/11/2006 17:05

i like 3andnomore...i mentioned her on the say something nice about a mnetter thread.....she is ace! and backed me up and a few 'controversial' childbirth threads!!

3andnomore · 19/11/2006 14:11

aww...ty Lulamamafeeling is mutual btw...never thought of looking in that thread, as I thought that probably noone would say anything about me anyway, because I am still sort of new and am well..just me, lol!

WideWebWitch · 19/11/2006 16:14

lol at vipersister! The trouble is that you do see things people have posted in reply if you ever search on 'threads I'm on' for updates.
