kenwood

FancyFancy · 29/04/2015 09:33

I've been on the London Eye a couple of times lyndie & really enjoyed it. The first time was an evening do with work, (so was free). Second time was daytime so the view was more interesting. I wonder how non-Londoners feel about it though? I found lots to see as I was looking for places other than the basic tourist attractions as well as the obvious. DS was a baby so I can't comment on whether he enjoyed it.

ApricotCrush · 29/04/2015 10:33

Morning all. Have RBNRM.

We went on the London Eye last December and enjoyed it. You can get this circular thingy which shows all the various landmarks.

I do admire you all with your various sporting activities. I've recently resurrected the treadmill, but I only walk on it, I'd fall off if I attempted to run.

We belong to the National Trust. We did about 8 of them on a holiday a couple of years ago, but haven't been anywhere since, in spite of having one just up the road whichhasconnectionswiththePreRaphaelites. We did go there many years ago, but would like to re-visit, as they've updated it a lot, but we never seem to get time.

Good luck at the dentist Baddz and I hope you enjoy your 'birthday lunch' Elk.

Have a good day all.

I HATED the London Eye. I realised to late that I was more afraid of heights than I thougt I was. I thought I was going to DIE Sad

ApricotCrush · 29/04/2015 11:06

Oh, poor you WW. I'm scared of heights, but I felt safe, although when you get to the top it is a bit Shock

IssyStark · 29/04/2015 11:34

Morning all!

I think the computer ate my previous post Sad

Anyway good luck badders for the dentist, hope all other wenches are better.

Kettle-wise we've got a Dualit (I spent ages in JL deciding to pay the extra so it matched the toaster rather than get the cheaper kenwood - I am a label baby sometimes).

We're both NT and EH members and generally get our value out of them. We've got several properties owned by both near us, certainly near enough to pop to for an afternoon instead of an all day trip. Last year in Scotland EH membership also saved us a fortune as it got us in to all the Historic Scotland properties for free so Edinburgh Castle didn't cost us a penny :)

Lyndie · 29/04/2015 12:09

We have HS and NT too, always pays for itself after a couple of trips. Loads of places we've not been to either. Issy did you enjoy Edinburgh Castle? I've not been for years but it's on my list!!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/04/2015 12:13

Been out for a lunch walk. Been doing that for the last couple of weeks but put some more effort in it this time, got so inspired by you wenches Smile

AnneOfAramis · 29/04/2015 12:37

I have been on the London Eye before and it's perfectly fine and enjoyable but just not willing to spend that money this time.

We are def going to EH. One if their properties is on the local big green space plus there is lots that's commutable with a picnic for me and the boys and you know how we have a new car ... So when DH is off we can go further afield.

I had to give my work tablet to my colleague who came back from mat leave and she turned it on to see Dog , Athos, Porthos and Aramis. She held up and looked at me with a Grin I also told my cousin all about the Tav and our Christmas meet up and the planned meet ups and she could hardly breathe from laughing when I told her about our mission on the way back from Christmas lunch.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/04/2015 13:06

throw away your Clubacrd vouchers? WHY? Why would you do that? OMG, I've had Eurotunnel, theme parks, ferry crossings, holidays & I can't remember what else courtesy of Mr Tesco Shock Don't EVER spend them on shopping as they're worth 3 times their value if you trade them in for deals. So Anne's London Eye trip would cost about £40 of Tesco vouchers.

But seriously - forget about the Eye. This is the pic we took in the Easter hols from the FREE Skygarden.

Baddz · 29/04/2015 13:12

Am back!
Just had some soup.
Not too bad, but possibly got another bad tooth too :( God, I wish I'd looked after my teeth, although he says it's because I grind my teeth at night.
Ds2 has gymnastics today.
Might have some cold chicken now.
And tea.

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/04/2015 13:22

I dunno...theyre just annoying bits of paper and I can never be arsed to work out whats on them or how to use them?

Blush

You see this is why Im crap with money. Im the mug that mobile companies, insurance companies etc love. I can never be arsed to hunt for a bargain or haggle. Im crap at negotiating.

However now I know you can save them up to get in to places for free, I will keep them. Wenches honour.

London Eye, yes, it's nice enough but not worth 100 quid fo sho. ww Grin at your heartfelt I thought I was going to DIE.

Im out and about right now so cant post property porn at the mo. and have probably outed myself quite enough for this thread tbh

My mission today is to buy a new pair of jeans, which I really need as my others are full of holes. Tomorrow I am going to the allotment. Saw a job I could apply for today, but hey, shopping and allotment is more important for my personal growth I think.

FancyFancy · 29/04/2015 13:23

Glad you're back badders & you don't seem too traumatised, which is good.

I am trying to finally make a decision on summer holidays & actually book somewhere - too many choices and variables, I'm being indecisive. Someone please give me a kick up the arse Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/04/2015 13:23

Oh good bads glad it didnt really hurt.

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/04/2015 13:29

Where are you thinking of going fancy?

I would like to explore the city of Santiago and lie on the island of Cabrera.

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/04/2015 13:29

I really need to rein this in dont I

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/04/2015 13:36

Twitter news: Luca's down the pub with new cast members (nobody of interest) & yes, it appears we have a new Costumes Dept who are tweeting but NO PICS.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/04/2015 13:36

Baddz glad it went OK. Poor you Sad

FancyFancy · 29/04/2015 13:40

I love that episode madame Grin

I am thinking of Austria. Ideally I'd like to do both mountains & a city, but not sure if that would be stupidly expensive. (Plus not sure how happy DS would be ambling around a mountain.) DD is very keen to go to Vienna, I've been before & really liked it, so that's one possibility.

Baddz · 29/04/2015 13:47

It will hurt later :(
It was decayed and had 2 cracks in!
am having a retro afternoon watching music vids...take that back for good on now Smile

Baddz · 29/04/2015 13:48

Love Austria. Went there on honeymoon.
Ds1, Dh and fil are off to stockholm for ds1s b day trip...I thought of you WW :(

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/04/2015 13:49

Omg sparks so definitely no phoebe??

Shock
Baddz · 29/04/2015 13:49

My bra and leggings have arrived!!

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/04/2015 13:57

Well she's not mentioned & the woman who is on there is being congratulated on the fab new costumes....

Lyndie · 29/04/2015 13:59

Why are you not going to Stockholm then Badders?

I'd love to go to Austria, did a school trip there which was fantastic. I'm sure my DC would be outraged that there was no beach though!! I'm sure there is at a lake somewhere but they just wouldn't think it was the same

Well I've Vax'd my living room carpet today so with that and the sofas the other day it is now a pleasant place to be!! Disgusting weather here. Boring admin and Mr Waitrose coming soon. Smile
