I rarely go to the dentist but really desperately need to.

Madame - hoping for a better day tomorrow.

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/04/2015 22:54

Thanks anne. I doubt there'll be anything on the job front, but Im seeing a friend and then maybe going clothes shopping. fuck it eh!

MadamedeChevreuse · 28/04/2015 22:55

When do you start your new job anne?

FancyFancy · 28/04/2015 22:57

Have they been on the Emirates Airline anne? Would they be happy with that instead?

LaComtess · 28/04/2015 23:16

Evening all!!

Just back from spinning followed by yoga. Lots about not leaning tonight during warrior pose. I spent the whole time thinking about Tom Burke. Natch. I can't help but teen snigger when she's on about the half camel. I'm so infantile. (Incidentally wenches bent over keyboards all day would find this stretch particularly helpful. Google it. I do it a lot).

Well done Badders. I love to push myself to try something new. I've done both c25k and 10k. The 'start your warm down' voice woman is a bit annoying but I love it. I only ever run with spoken word (usually Mark Kermode podcast) or panting desperately after ds1 and trying to have a conversation with him.

Issy - poor you with the tooth. I had a brace too but not fixed. I broke it on the day of Andrew/Fergie's wedding during a fight with my sister. We got in a lot of trouble.

Madame - great stuff re rock climbing. I prefer to watch such things Grin. Preferably HBF's with drool worthy triceps to perve over.

Apricot - I really agree ref beard. Seems such a shame. It's just not the same. I'm good with the hair but I DONT LIKE THE FAKE BEARD. Grrrrrr. Sort it Jess.

In other news our kettle has broken. . Recommendations wenchi? Gratefully received.

(just imagine when he's 15) (don't - it's awful)

AnneOfAramis · 28/04/2015 23:32

Thanks for the suggestion Fancy. I'll look into that. DS3 has been learning about London and is influenced by Paddington's adventures.

Madame - something will turn up. But pissed off that they haven't even had the decency to let you know. I emailed a company I interviewed with before the good one came up to say nice to meet you but you aren't my cuppa chai and today I got a generic email saying they liked my application but am not suitable. I interviewed with you you morons then told you i am not interested. Fuckers. The other internal candidate at work didn't get my job, but she won't find out until tomorrow and it is going to be awful. It's the second internal post she has been turned down for.

I start Tuesday. I spent today reading the company handbook then made a colourful excel with no formulas revision timetable.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/04/2015 23:33

Lyndie go to your local library - DS picks up superhero comic books for small people there (obviously we don't get them at your local library, that would be a bit far for us to travel just to get some books out)

That's me done. 100%. I'm taking exploding Athos up to the hayloft, because he's not going to be used as anything more than a pillow/hot water bottle tonight.

Well I suppose I could try and persuade MrElk off the couch and back into his harness I suppose Hmm

It's never occurred to me to run to a spoken sound track, but a radio 4 funny would be perfect...might give it a go.

and yes, I'm sorry but the fake beard looks like a bit of a growler......

FancyFancy · 28/04/2015 23:34

I have one of those colourful Kenwood kettles comtess. I love it as there's not much colour in my kitchen, so it livens the place up. I have the small size, I think you'd need the larger one.

Be careful when you're running to that podcast, it seems to be responsible for injuries Grin

BloodyElkFire · 28/04/2015 23:35

I've overly supposed

BloodyElkFire · 28/04/2015 23:37

SIL has a KitchenAid kettle. Tis vair posh.

FancyFancy · 28/04/2015 23:47

Ex once bought a kettle with a built in water softener. In a soft water area. Hmm And I hate soft water. Have lived nearly all my life in places with rock hard water and love the taste. The kettle was a pain in the arse to fill as it took time for the water to filter and the capacity was reduced. So we had a big fuck-off kettle that barely held more than the small one I have now. I don't think I ever changed the filter either Blush

ChaiseLounger · 29/04/2015 06:28

Morning.
Am up very early. I cleaned the house yesterday and did all the ironing. So am just sat here, with a cup of tea, enjoying it before everyone gets up.

Hope you all have a good day. At work I am so ahead of the game that I literally have nothing to do today. I suppose I should try and enjoy it.

I received ds1's forms from secondary school. I could take them to work I guess and fill them in.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/04/2015 07:49

Anne! Take them up to the top of the Fenchurch Street Sky Garden - the views are as good & it's free! You need to book though.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 29/04/2015 07:54

Or start shopping at Tesco & save your Clubcard vouchers & pay nothing, like me Smile

Morning BTW. I WANNA SEE WHAT THEY'VE DONE TO ARAMIS. Where's the rest, JP????

LetUsPrey · 29/04/2015 08:11

Morning wenches. Thanks for the cwtches.

Get those forms filled in Chaise. I'm impressed by your efficiency as well!

We have an indoor climbing place not too far from us. Tried it on holiday years ago and enjoyed it. Might look into it.

I'll look at that half camel pose Comtess.

Parents' Evening tonight for DS1.

Ah happy days, one of the best scenes ever

MadamedeChevreuse · 29/04/2015 08:21

How many clubcard vouchers do you need to go free on the millenium eye sparks? What else can you do with them? I always end up chucking mine away Blush

anne I cant believe that other company! What a bunch of fuckwits. Bet youre glad youre not working there eh.

so elk does that mean he wont come climbing then? Bastard Sad

chaise hope you enjoy filling out the forms with a sense of "onwards and upwards" Flowers

This morning Im off to visit my friend's new house and chew over with him how totally insane it is trying to buy a house in this ridiculously expensive town.

ChaiseLounger · 29/04/2015 08:44

Throw tesco vouchers away? Really! How many do you need for London eye then?

LetUs, I think that is my FAVOURITE scene.

ChaiseLounger · 29/04/2015 08:45

Madame, do us a property porn link and we too will laugh at silly prices.

Lyndie · 29/04/2015 09:17

Morning all. SmileBrew

Thanks Helen we'll have a look. We are almost 100% princesses, fairies and ballet with DD1 so any interest in anything other than pink things I'm willing to indulge!! A Mighty Girl was helpful too.

Madame it's lunacy isn't it?! There's was a thread on MN and London studio flats recently, £1-9 million!!!! We're looking too, if I moved 20 miles out of our city I could have a castle!!!

Lyndie · 29/04/2015 09:18

DS did a climbing course, it was excellent for him. I couldn't believe how high they went on the first day!!

Wow that is not cheap for the London Eye!! Is it worth it, anyone been?

FancyFancy · 29/04/2015 09:26

Morning. I am in awe of chaise's organisational skills. Hope you enjoy the feeling of being ahead & get those forms filled in. How is your DS feeling about secondary school, is he looking forward to it?

Wonderful scene there letus, always puts a smile on my face. Good luck with parents' evening tonight. Are you expecting a good one, an iffy one, or something inbetween?

Hope you have a good day madame, depressing property prices round here too.

Baddz · 29/04/2015 09:27

RBNR
Comtesse...I am nervous and embarrassed to be seen in public running but I'm doing it!
I would recommend a dualit kettle for heavy handed men/boys.
Elk...bloody love green wing. Such good taste you have, petal Smile
I am dreading the dentist...it hurt for ages after last time (I mentioned it and apparently I had a bleed into my jaw muscle from the jab :()
Have just bought soup for lunch.
Am loving watching outlander ATM. Recommend wenches Grin

BloodyElkFire · 29/04/2015 09:27

Throw your vouchers away!!! ShockShockShock At the very least you use them to pay for your shopping. I think I'm going to save my for a Merlin pass...Alton towers, Chessington, London Eye, Warwick Castle etc all free. The summer hols are looming....seems like a good idea to me.

I'm going out to lunch today 'for my birthday'...It's already been cancelled twice, and last night the friend who suggested it pulled out. What I'd really like to do is teleport to a beach somewhere on an isolated atoll in the Indian Ocean where the rest of the world can FTFO.

MrElk lost his nerve with the climbing after a particularly spectacular plummet. Can't say I blame him for wanting to lie down for a bit the next five years

Baddz · 29/04/2015 09:28

I haven't got a kitchen aid, but I have got a ienwood patisser (which is a KA knock off)
It's very good but bloody heavy
