Currently doing some of the work I didn't do earlier today (due to wrestling with email mountain etc.)

Fancy - absolutely agree re. things hiding in chocolate. People will insist on giving me perfectly good chocolate that has been ruined by the addition of nuts or other flavours. The only think allowed in choclate is mint, and very occasionally caramel. But I want warning. The other horrific experience I had was when I was happily biting into a chunk of Turkish delight and found a nut - gah! I nearly spat it across the room.

Oh helen you understand the crushing disappointment of things hiding in chocolate too.

I was never a fan of Turkish delight 'til I had it at my local Turkish restaurant - they have pistacchio's in their's, but it's ok as they're not hiding Grin

    I really am starting to think he is a bit of a knob.

This just gave me a fit of the giggles. It's the knob placed at the end of the analysis. Just really appealed to me.

I really liked S2. I agree wholeheartedly with WW and Fancy about the hunting lodge especially but I still really enjoyed and looked forward to it all. And 9 & 10 were fab episodes.

For one of the main 'showrunner's' to go I imagine there has been falling outs Shock. . Will listen to that tomorrow but thank you Helen Flowers for excellent synopsis.

Oh and Elk you had me at the end of the last thread. Yum.

Morning all. Lovely and sunny, DH blotto, DS glued to tablet. Chickens digging up garden, cats traumatised/inconvenient. Life as normal. Have headache. must sort oout breakfast. Only came online to send 'happy birthday' message to friend and have got diverted into Tavern... Hmm

Too nice to bother cleaning, though the windows show the dirt something chronic in this light.

You know what I think's the worst thing to sneak into chocolate? Coffee.

Beautiful sunny day. Washing on. DS1 has gone to sportingteammatch with a ridiculously negative attitude. Have reassured accordingly. I have to tackle DS2 and homework which remains not done and he's back at school on Tuesday. Hair cut this afternoon and then out tonight.

Morning wenches. Yes, I have been seriously absent from the Tav lately but I have my reasons and mostly to do with health at the moment. I have missed you all though and hope to be back in full perving wenching mode soon.

Listened to AH interview and I get the impression the decision for him to go is quite recent and possibly taken after the interview was arranged. Reading between the lines, the fact that he mentioned JP wouldn't let him keep his finger in the pie suggested to me that he may have wanted to take the storylines in directions that are more at odds with some of the other of the shows execs and possibly Weinstein taking more control to influence the shows content for the US market. I did think when it was announced that Weinstein had become involved that he wouldn't put his money into it unless he was getting quite a lot of say about the content etc. The money men usually get the final say!

As regards AH comments re: sexual violence toward women, I agree that he completely missed the point and focussed only on the one episode between Rochefort and the prostitute which, in my opinion wasn't sexual violence anyway but out and out murder. He also missed the point about the humour missing from S2 and clearly thinks he knows more about what audiences want than he does. Yes, there were elements of S2 I enjoyed but a show needs to have some humour in it in order to actually entertain. Who wants to sit and watch something that leaves you feeling depressed rather than entertained? Perhaps that's just me though.

I think this may spell the end for TM or at least the show as we know it at the end of S3.

Anyway, I am off out now for the day to have some fun - hopefully!

Badders- not to worry. I've done some washing and had breakfast. then we will take DS to SaturdaySportingActivity, followed by visit to friend in her not-very-new house (have been remiss about catching up since she moved), and back here to try and get garden under control. Same old...
