had a day out with ILs for a 2 yr old party. I appear to be the only person who was able to buy a gift that didn't involve Frozen. However, the day did involve soft play hell and the two 2 year olds hated it because it was awful I had to sit in the car with BIL a number of times and make inane small talk when we cannot bear each other.

We rewatched S1 E1 again because DS3 wanted them to wear their Spanish uniforms. Then we watched all the extra stuff on the bbc website.

Then we caught up with a hot young historian talking about Castles.

It's been a pretty good day.

MiladyBeaWinter · 25/04/2015 22:13

A hot young historian talking about castles??

MavisGrind · 25/04/2015 22:18

Do you have a 'talk of castles' sensor Bea? Grin

Arf at DIY ineptitude Helen - I am truly crap at DIY and I keep starting things I never get around to finishing

I'm off to bed. Lunch out tomorrow with a friend and much housework. Lovely. Night all.

FancyFancy · 25/04/2015 22:41

People have been busy - finishing to-do lists, cleaning up soot and rewatching. I'm pleased that it's pissing down and watering my lawn. Hopefully that means my garden won't smell so badly of lawn feed tomorrow - it was that bad ScaredyCat refused to walk on the grass.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 25/04/2015 22:43

I'm here. You'd never believe there are 4 other people in this house. I am sooooo bored downstairs on my own AGAIN.

At least it's my rota night. As Milady said, God works in mysterious ways.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 25/04/2015 22:43

Have just had a massive Bellini & half a Double Decker. There's nothing like a sugar rush just before bed.

FancyFancy · 25/04/2015 22:51

I'm just about to have a peppermint tea
and some bread and butter pudding

FancyFancy · 25/04/2015 23:01

At least you get the remote to yourself, and as you say, it is Saturday night

FancyFancy · 25/04/2015 23:08

A little something to get you in the mood sparks

And this is for anyone interested in costume details Wink

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 25/04/2015 23:13

Costume details my eye Grin

I'be been in the mood for about 15 months now TBH Fancy....

FancyFancy · 25/04/2015 23:21

Grin sparks.

But it's a lovely close-up of the costume details. You can see the fastenings so clearly - which helps with imagining how to unfasten them.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/04/2015 08:21

Today I need to DO something. Not sure what yet though.

Fancy Here's another picture to help with costume details. It's a compare and contrast: modern vs historical. I'd say that NorFlops have had a go at unfastening already, but they'd never have left it at that...

Morning wenches. Beautifully sunny here this morning so there'll be a wash going out on the line soon.

DC at sportingactivities this morning and early afternoon, then I'll be ironing and hopefully supervising homework. And then tonight it's Poldark.

Remember when Sundays meant Musketeers?

MadamedeChevreuse · 26/04/2015 09:58

Morning!

Last ep of poldark tonight no?

Wenches, who's watching?

My mum is staying but Im hoping to watch at 9 and stealth wench if anyone is about...

MadamedeChevreuse · 26/04/2015 10:00

Waaaaah!!!!!

Ive just seen a really sad, massive spoiler for the episode. Sad

LetUsPrey · 26/04/2015 10:17

Not sure I can watch at 9 because DS1 will still be up and I don't want to have to break off to nag chivvy him up to go to bed, etc. I think I might know the spoiler you're talking about Madame. I was talking about Poldark with BestFriend when we were out - discussing the plot, extolling the talents of the cast, expressing our admiration for the beauty of the scenery, that sort of thing - and she was saying that her mum had been talking about the original. I was a bit tipsy to care what she was saying Blush

MadamedeChevreuse · 26/04/2015 10:23

Is she a die-hard fan then letus?

Thinking about it, the spoiler Im thinking of was signposted in the trailer last week, but I was too dense to pick up on it.

LetUsPrey · 26/04/2015 10:26

And BTW Madame, Age of Ultron was fecking excellent Grin

LetUsPrey · 26/04/2015 10:30

She appreciates the show in very much the same way as we do Wink

LaComtess · 26/04/2015 10:34

Morning wenchi

Thanks for the FAF pics Helen. We can never have enough of Paris and SA esp when the read thru pic is the latest one Grin.

I managed to leave my bag with phone and purse, diary etc etc in swimming locker yesterday, and drive all the way home before I realised I still had the feckin key round my wrist. FFS. By the time is realised, place shut. So I've had a long drive for irritating bag and phone repatriation this morning. Just what I didn't have time for. Grrr. I'm off to play squash with ds2 in an attempt to forge conversant relationship. He is Mr Quiet at the mo. Dangerous. What the hell is brewing ......., Grin

Madame I am deffo Poldarking. Will be careful on Twatter..,.

Laters lovelies

LaComtess · 26/04/2015 10:43

Aw. Have just seen in Twitter that the Burketeers have an award from Op Smile for their fundraising.

And via Op Smile Tom has said '@OpSmileUK: #Burketeers “I’m sorry to not be there. I’m truly humbled by what has been achieved, spearheaded by Angie and her regiment. Thank you all”

How lovely all round.

AnneOfAramis · 26/04/2015 10:44

mrsb it is called Secret British Castles and presented by Dan Stone. DS1 caught the first episode when they slept over at my mums. They did Warwick, Tower of London and last night was Caernavon (sp sorry Welsh wenches). Dan Stone is pretty FAF as far as historians go and I googled him and it turns out he is a new school of fun historians who don't hold an academic position. I love him, a bit not as much as Santi and you know how we have that new car and all, well we are making a list to visit.

AnneOfAramis · 26/04/2015 10:52

Mostly cleaning, washing clothes allowing unlimited screen time so that I can do the above. DS3 has a soft play party 5.30-7.30 - because 20 4 year old at soft play until 7.30 isn't a recipe for disaster.

I will be live watching Poldark Madame. I saw a slight thing I wasn't happy with on the trailer and also read Wikipedia which spoiled a certain someone's story.

MadamedeChevreuse · 26/04/2015 11:06

comtesse sorry but I found it hilaire that you left the pool without getting your stuff out of your locker! Did you not put your car keys in the locker then? I always lock EVERYTHING away. #healthyparanoia Good luck with ds2 today. What do you think he is up to?

Excllent so we're having a consolatory poldark livewatch tonight. Woo!

letus which bits did you like? Who's your faffest avenger? mouse is seeing it next week so no spoilers til then kay? Wink

I thought redscarlach's review was brilliant btw helen. Hows ds doing today?

Off out in a bit for family fun on a petting farm.
